Page 1546…
Happy Monday, All!
So, thank you guys SO much for letting me know that the way the Wraiths moved through shadows wasn’t properly explained.
I went back and fixed it.
I hope.
π
Also… thanks to Julie who pointed out that I was using the Amulet to locate the tablets when OBVIOUSLY Nicodemus had NO idea that it was even magic (as shown here…. )
I had no intention of using the amulet…and somehow got it in my head I needed it. Ugh.
Anyways. I THINK I’ve worked it all out.
Please go back and re-read the last few pages and let me know if I’ve fixed the problems.
YOU MAY HAVE TO SHIFT-REFRESH TO SEE THE CHANGES (I’VE ONLY CHANGED THE PREVIOUS 3 PAGES)
I wanted to let you all know that my buddy Hans has a new book out!
Please click on the image above and check out his book. Itβs available on the Kindle and in physical book form through Amazon!
I’m first!!!!! I absolutely love today’s page reason why but I love it!!!!
I meant to say no reason why but I forgot to no sorry
I forgot to say in I forgot to say ( I’m on my phone so typings hard )
Ohhh!!!!! I keep forgetting stuff I hope you know what I mean
They HAVE to have eliminated or neutralized the portal by now, or the conquest would be well underway… Right?
*conveniently ignores the Nightmare beasts who were following Dan*
Wut?
My translation of what Sarah said:
“Scott this page is awesome!”
Might not be exact, but that’s my take on it.
I happen to agree with her, π
It’s like a dreamgate. *Stealing phraseology from “Stargate.”
I love how the scene gets darker as the shadow wraiths leave. It’s like the light has left the city.
Stargate Atlantis had wraiths as the major villains, too. Now all we need is a cross-over where the SG1 or Atlantis crews end up in Dreamland because of a star going supernova somewhere along a wormhole path. Stargate:Dreamland.
Humm… He has something that powerful but haven’t invaded… uh… “real” world yet?
Or has he? O.O
Or is he busy reconstructing the wakeworld portal, cause it needs two functioning ends? That’s what I understood from the underwater glyphs.
At least it seems that wraiths have some way to travel to wakeworld without the portal, since they bothered merlin way before all of this happened.
It’ll be pure devastation for the “real” world once Lord Abaddon tries to take it.
Maybe he some minions that need the portal unlike the wraiths…!
Wraiths in Stargate? Really?
I never saw the tv series. Ugh. I need to check it out now.
Exactly. He needed time to re-create the portal in our world for it to work.
If there WAS one on Earth…the Egyptians stuck in Dreamland would have been able to go home 3,000 years ago.
Don’t worry…they Wraiths on Stargate: Atlantis don’t look or move anything like yours. π
Wow! This really changes the scope of the story! π Love it!
And the changes you’ve made are very helpful. π
It’s much more clear now, Scott. Thanks for going back to fix it.
Just one small change to the first panel in page 1545. “…appeared filled” needs an “and” or a “then” in it.
So, as the Plot Thickens, we See that the mermaid Witch was Wrong, WAY WRONG. as This is a two Pronged Attack, thus there has to be a two pronged Response. With Alex being the one Familiar with Dreamland, and it’s Rightful King (He Pulled the sword from the Stone), and His Brother in our World, circumventing a war, as he has much more a grasp on our world.
So if the Nightmare Realm is building a portal in secret somewhere on Earth, it’s not likely to be near where Dan and Alex live or go to school. Which means… Roadtrip!
It must be difficult to keep up with all the minute details in such a massive, and long running story. Hang in there.
So, with 1540 and the recent changes… where the amulet is glowing… is Nicodemus just assuming the king and queen are using it as a fancy flashlight? I’m assuming that’s the moment where ol’ dragon-butt gained possession of the amulet in the first place, but IF he saw it glowing he’d likely assume it was in some form magical, and not just a sparkly bargaining chip that he could use to manipulate the elves once the king and queen were out of the way.
Do a Google search for Wraith or Wraiths, and they’re pretty much all over the image search, it seems…

I like the changes to the previous pages. I feel it much better explains what is happening and how the wraiths move.
thank you
OK, this is not GOOD, but if it were a disaster the Pharaoh would be running around in circles screaming and waving his arms. So either the portal had been deactivated and can’t be turned back on without his help, or something was done to destroy or disable the portal since it was stolen. Either way, it’s getting pretty clear Alex and Company are going to be heading into the Nightmare Realm sooner or later to settle Abaddon’s hash. Possibly sooner.
You made me think that maybe both portals require a key of some sort to become active. i.e. a sword maybe.
What exactly was she wrong about? Really all she was saying was that Dan was the rightful king of Dreamland (just like all the kings who would’ve reigned instead of Nicodemus had Arthur not been stuck). It doesn’t make Alex any less the current king.
Or are you just saying that her instistence that they change places was wrong because it appears to us that Dan’s existence is potentially more pivotal on Earth than we knew?
Also, the wraiths in Stargate Atlantis are in another galaxy and are white, pasty faced alien species that feed on the life force of other species (mostly humans). They are nothing like your wraiths except for being nasty, evil, bad guy types.
“I am the Key Master!”
“I am the Gate Keeper.”
^,^
Scott, I went back several pages and read it again. It makes more sense the way you rewrote it. And, yes, the portal resembles a stargate, but your story is unique. No worries there. π
Okay now I am confused. It says the Nicodemus planned the attack, but other than being supported by the nightmare realm, I did not think he was trying to advance their plots. From the original back story he was not a member of that realm nor did he support their objectives. So why is he now masterminding their attack. He was opposed to re-establishing a connection, or he would have allowed Merlin’s work to go forward. Why is he now enabling it to happen again, but his one time foes? I am missing a lot here.
Scott, also, much thanks for putting up the link to Hans’s book. We appreciate it very much.

We’ll probably see the Nightmare realm attack earth, cause massive devastation, and suddenly die off due to lack of immunity to our germs….
…oops, wrong storyline…
I would imagine that the wraiths (or Lord Abaddon himself) spun their reason for hunting down the lost portal as “We must find and destroy this or the humans will work out some way to return and try to take over the dream world again!” It’s very unlikely they would tell Nic they intended to use it themselves given that they had already lied to him about invading the waking world in the past.
I have just read 1546 pages today, and i wish i had another 1546 to read, this comic is damn good, and i have quite high standards for webcomics ;).
i once discarded it because i didn’t like the first like 10 pages (cause it seemed to be a kid’s story) but boy am i glad i got back and proven so wrong.
I’m happy you gave it another shot, Matthias!
Thank you for the kind words. And I hope you enjoy the rest of the story.
You’d think that, knowing the only people interested in that portal would be shadow and darkness dwelling fiends, they’d light that room intensely.
Given that they hadn’t had contact for thousands of years, perhaps that detail was lost in time. Or they just were not aware that wraiths can shadowjump.
Hey all!
There was a glitch in Oberon and Titania’s armor that resulted in weird renders.
I’m having to redo it overnight. Sorry. Will post in the morning.
It *WAS* lit intensely by the skylight, but it’s nighttime now, and if you look through the skylight, there were shadows cast by clouds.
You know, Scott, after 1500 pages, and over six years, we’ll allow you to forget a detail or two. π
Besides, your faithful (fanatic) readers will quickly remind you of glitches and typos. Better than a dozen proofreaders!!! :):):)

Yes thats what a mean!
We all love the story. It’s the best thing out there right now.
I shared this with some kids a few weeks ago. It was all mom could do to keep them from staying up too late or doing chores when all they wanted to do was to just read it.
Normally I think grammar police are self righteous and annoying, but this strip contains one of those really bad mistakes that results in an ambiguous meaning. The sentence “Once located, the wraiths surrounded the portal” can be interpreted in two ways: what was located, the wraiths or the portal? The sentence makes it sound like the wraiths were located, but from the context, I would guess that the portal was located. Small grammar mistakes can be overlooked, but serious mistakes like this should be fixed, especially given the number of kids that read this comic and absorb the syntax into their lexicons.
I not a ( all comments were made from my phone to type so is a gonna be sorry )
