Page 1512…
Happy Thursday, All!
I wound up breaking up the last page into two pages as I felt the next image of the Pharaoh and his people should have been a full page splash.
🙂
Tune in tomorrow for the last page of Chapter 17.
PS. How many of you noticed the mechanics underneath the island?
First? 🙂 Nice reuse of Astoria’s port, if I’m not mistaking!
I guess when you go 1000 years without a visitor, you forget what hospitality is. I wonder how Nastajia’s parents were supposed to have gotten up there.
Yes. I tried my best to re-fashion it as best as possible.
Mechanics? Those are jets, not just dripping water…
I did notice the machines. It’s a nice hint of the steampunk theme you’ve alluded to for this place.
I did not notice any mechanics…I’ll have to go back and look when I have a minute…
TWC #3 with 17,120 votes, #2 having 18,214.
I know. I know. But hey, it wouldn’t be half as interesting if we just marched to #1. Vote, fans of The Dreamland Chronicles!
Why do I feel like these guys are going to be hostile to Alex? I’m excited for a new location, though. So far it looks great.
I didn’t notice the mechanics until you pointed it out, but I was focusing on the beautiful city in the background.
Oooooh! Translucent wings! Nice!
But I bet this ups the render time.
I noticed the mechanics but only because you gave a bit of background to the new realm when searching for the name. I am really looking forward to the idea of egyptian steam-punk with some magical influence as well. 🙂
if the Egyptians invented Art Deco… I think it would look a little something like this…
Any chance of getting these as high-res images? I’d love to be able to see more details of Seraphopolis!
The looks on their faces, does it suggest: “I’ve got a bad feeling about this”?
Am I correct in assuming there’s a reason for the….. Similar architechture? 😉
Yes.
I didn’t have another pier to use. One built especially for the guardians.
🙂
Not much on small talk, are they. Got one heck of an HOA too, I bet. =)
That is the most beautiful blue in the wings.
Oh heck yes it does. Holy crap… no wonder it’s taking forever to render… with that many details and I’m assuming ray tracing for the lighting… *shudder* It’s worth the wait, though.
Hum, again. Not a single word from guardians. Not a welcome, nothing.
I saw them and liked them too.
Those guys seriously remind me of the Seraphim from the Sacred games, the wings and mix of fantasy/technology pretty much defined them.. must be just a coincidence this city is called Seraphopolis.
Well this is an awkward silence…
Argh!
Stupid lightning storm knocked out my 12 hour render at 99% completion.
Restarting from scratch….sigh.
I’m digging the white lipstick on the dude on the right – lipstick isn’t only for girls!
I hope someone in the party is fluent in ancient egyptian.
Maybe. I wonder if Alex won’t be able to wake up till he leaves the city. They did say that this place was not apart of Dreamland.
Actually, that’s where his face has no shadow. Just his lips are in the light and creating shadows below them.
LOL I was thinking sewer pipes… LOOK OUT BELOWWWwwww!
UPS!!!
UPS (Uninteruptable Power Supply) or in lame mans terms a battery.
Time to walk like an Egyptian.
…had to make sure no one else beat me to it. …at least for today.
Or a hamster in a wheel.
what about MacGuyver?
Reminds me a lot of Laputa, the Castle in the Sky.
My UPS died 6 months ago.
I haven’t been able to get a new one.
Definitely on my list.
Don’t sweat it, Scott. Stuff happens. Take a break; spend some time with the family.
The Dude abides. B-)
I had to go back to re-look at the mechanics. Really cool, it kind of reminds me of ‘Laputa: Castle in the Sky’.
Basically a repeat of Gweemar’s coment. Didn’t read all the comment’s sorry 😉
You could just always say that it was originally attached to the original pier to make a bridge. It makes sense, and it can’t exactly be said to be impossible.
Well ancient Egypt started using eye shadow a few thousand years ago so… They used it for practical purposes, and every one used it.
Oh that’s a cool idea!
Well neither is the Nightmare Realm, but sleeping people can visit there and wake up from there…
Finally had a chance to look. 🙂 That’s pretty cool…and it answers the “How will they span the distance between floating island and Seraphopolis” question we had. 🙂
It’s a new month now, and we’re sitting at #3 with 223 votes! 🙂 #4 has 215, so we’ll need to keep voting to stay here. #2 only has 249, so we could easily pass them up. VOTE DREAMIES!!!
You know what? I think you’ve got a good point there. 🙂
I was thinking it looks more like “Oh wow!”
Even if that’s just where his lips aren’t in shadow, those are very light lips for someone with his skin tone. I’m voting that it’s lipstick. 🙂
Maybe the lipstick is practical as well. 🙂 I know that I get wicked awful fever blisters when my lips get sunburned. It could be sunscreen.
That’s surely frustrating…but don’t worry too much about it. We’re already prepared for a hiatus between chapters. This is just postponing the time when we won’t have new pages to view. 😀
And at least we know what to get Scott for Christmas now.
see, I’m not the only one 😀
There’s been sightings of hardware pros round here. What would your recommendations be, folks? A lousy UPS is worse than none at all, this much I can tell after seeing 5 boxes fried by a single power surge in one of our clients’ machine rooms.
Oh noes, we’re down to #4! More clicks required!
I like APC myself and I’ve owned a couple personally and use them on my work computer. I’ve seen some Fellows at work, but they were mainly on low priority workstations.
Layman’s terms, not lame man’s terms. XD
But Seraphopolis is netiher, I belive. I think it was said to exist between the realms and part of none.
