Clearly, he needs to get people he knows to leave their bath tubs full for the Pool of Auryn to work… a tub counts as a body of water, right?
Then Alex screams out names the first body of water he can think of.
Niviene shouts, “Why did you do that?!”
Alex stammers, “Old Man Withers fishes every morning in that lake…”
Niviene chuckles, “I assure you I have eaten a fish or 9000 myself, if you’re getting at that.”
Alex winces, “No! You don’t understand! He’s like 900 pounds and 80 years old and he fishes while completely naked!”
Nastajia cringes, “Well there goes my idea of coming to visit you in your world…”

Someone correct me if I’m wrong but last time in the waking world, Alex and Dan had headed home for school break. So they’re very much home and Nicole isn’t too far away as well I recall.

Of course, before any reunion can be had between Nicole and Felicity, they need to find her (wherever she’s flying, these days), get her in the water (not that she’d have any objection to being kissed by a merman), and travel to the sea-serpent infected waters near Niviene’s…

The pool on the Dreamland side is in a remote area surrounded by hungry monsters. That is not a trip one would want to make every day.
Furthermore, it is distracting them from their goal of finding her parents.
So can Nastajia just say “Show me my parents?” Now wouldn’t that make life a bit easier? I mean, really, what good is magic if it can’t…

IF Alex wakes up. When he goes back to sleep and appears in Dreamland, will he need to be kissed by a true mermaid to become a merman? Otherwise he would drown.
I’m confused by the shadow that falls across Niviene’s face in panel 4. Is this caused by Nastajia moving up? Or is this a rendering error? Niviene and Alex are static in panels 3 and 4.

Oooo!!! Good point. I’d have to go back and check (which I can’t right now), but I think I remember seeing Nicole on the train with Alex and Dan. I just don’t remember if that was the last time we saw them in the real world.

As juvenille as that would have been this is still classified as a ‘children’s’ comic.
But don’t let that stop your imagination from running wild. Just be sure you think about it thoroughly before sharing it with my great-grandchildren.
I suppose that would work if her parents were in the real world. Unfortunately, I doubt that’s the case. 🙁

Yep, morning. I figured it was wake up time even before I read Scott’s post. Does this mean that Alex will reenter dreamland under water again? I see the potential for problems here…
Let me guess, Dan will get his first view of Dreamland very very soon. Epic!
Maybe he could go and visit his sleeping body. That will be realy freaky.
Only problem with that is that it’s hard to create a natural body of water. . . .
I’m just thinking here–I wonder if sleep while dreaming in Dreamland is as satisfying as other sleep? I hope so, for Alex’s sake, or he’s gonna be running a sleep deficit if he’s not careful.
I assume the death-like fugue state Alex enters into when in Dreamland makes up for the lack of real sleep.
