Page 1417…
Happy Tuesday, All!
So…this week we have family visiting for Christmas.
The updates may be spotty at best this week. I may get another update on Thursday and that’s it.
I’ll resume the full schedule again of 5 days a week on Monday. But please do check back daily in case I get some free time.
I hope you’ve all had a wonderful holiday season…and thank you for another wonderful year of the Dreamland Chronicles.
Your readership has been such a blessing to my whole family every year.
Thank you!
Scott
First?! I’m surprised.
Those serpents look like submarines in the first panel.
Well, The Lady of the Lake seems friendly enough.
Woo, her hair is even more stunning in closeup! Talk about having natural body!
And of course she’d be taken aback by Alex. There hasn’t been an adult human in Dreamland since Arthur. And if she noticed the Sword… Yes, I imagine she’s got a lot of questions at this point…
Quite a way to make an entrance, and timely too. This should be an interesting encounter. Although “It is not safe here.” seems a little too straightforward. I thought the manual for wizards, witches, enchantresses, etc. called for layers of verbal obfuscation, the better to present that pose of mysterious powers. 😉
Of course, the really good ones can do it by stating the obvious – and then showing you what lies beyond the surface appearances.
Nice work, and enjoy your time with family Scott.
Something about the phrase “verbal obfuscations” makes me happy.
Human??? What about the tail? Huh? I can’t be human with this tail! 😛
It should be quite a ‘tale’
I think she had a descendant in Charlie Brown, Freida of the “naturally curly hair.”
No Scott, thank you for creating Dreamland. This is a unique thing in today’s world. A story that is engaging and entertaining enough for both kids and adults, has beautiful artwork, top notch production values, a creator who is not only humble but friendly and interacts with his audience, and is family friendly. And to top it all off, it is free. It is us who should be thanking you. 🙂
Enjoy your well deserved time with the family.
It’s the ears- those poor humans with those rounded ears do stand out. Plus, he’s probably got some aura about him that’s obvious to a magic user.
Wow! very nice! Last week I was looking through my friend’s bookshelves and spotted the first book, and I just had to read it. It’s been a few sleepless nights, but i’m all caught up! It’s a great story and I’m loving it.
The lighting, shadows, bubble trails in the third panel, that tiny reflection off Nivien’s eye: fabulous work Scott! And it’s a neat touch that as powerfull as she must be, even this one is not omnipotent.
Nice work, Scott! Ominous dialogue…
I think the second panel would make a really nice wallpaper – minute the speech bubble and a bit taller .. lol – but overall the comic is lookin’ real nice.
Enjoy your family, Scott.
WAIT!!! Just a thought, but where is it safe?
wow–hair stays curly, even in water!
the 3rd panel makes me giggle:
Alex: aw, you noticed!
Nastajia: beg pardon?
And then there’s the fact that only a human can wield the Sword of Kings?
No, I have catch up with the story.. I have been reading it for 6 hours straight. It is really really really awesome. Although I must say I don’t prefer computer animated comics the storytelling is superb.
Not there.
It’s not SAFE here? Gee, thanks fish-lady, I didn’t realize the nasty serpentine angler fish were dangerous.
Nice work as ever Scott.
Heh, beat me to it. Hey, SOMEONE has to be the obvious one…
I have to say… I absolutely love Staj’s face in the third panel of this page.
also is it just me or is the Mighty Lady of the Lake a tad bit cross-eyed?
I thought they were trains
I cant say it better then you, Rich.
Scott, thank you very much for this lovely story.
In the first panel, how did Alex get so far away from Nastajia? Was he trying to skip town? :^)
I can’t tell if you are cross-eyed or not, but she does look slightly cross-eyed.
She’s pretty…I love her eyes…almost cat-like in shape and angle. 🙂
Aaaand.. Enter Alex Kingston.. ( swoon..)
.
.
.
What?
Thank you for the comic, Scott, all 1400-plus pages of it.
Is it just me, or is she a mermaid and has even preportations? She MUST have magic.
Love the updates Scott. 😀
Alex: “Negative, I am a meat popsicle.”
i love it!
Happy B-Day To My Self!
Hi Scott!
We readers will never be upset if you wish to take a longer time off, and in the meantime build up a buffer of pages. I would personally suggest you take 2-3 weeks, at least one of those weeks should be “work free”.
You know you need the time off to cope with things, right?
My very best wishes from Thailand – I’m taking a MONTH off myself right now! 😀
Panel 3 is perhaps Alex’s cutest expression to date.
I was leaning more towards “Captain Obvious to the rescue! (literally)” :p
I just love this story, Scott. Thank-you for all of your hard work and to those who help you make this story so awesome.
I do have one question. Is Staj’s neck getting longer as the story progresses? It seems almost twice as long as Alex’s.
