Page 1377…
Happy Thursday!
I just wanted to take a moment to thank Brett Watson for hosting our Forum for the last 6 years.
Since we’ve moved over to the newer wordpress system with replies…the forum, unfortunately, has been pretty much obsolete.
Brett is taking it down soon.

Thanks Brett for your generosity!

Clean means SHINY!
Oh… I thought cleaning the armor means repairing the helmet. Was waiting to go test it out by banging a wall but u noe.. =)
I can sense a disturbance in the fo…. er, helmet.
He seems pretty bummed about not having his magic helmet. Hope he gets it back soon!
FIRST! Wait. SEC- nope… LAST! still nope… Oh forget it.
If Alex should get a new helmet, should it resemble Optimus Prime or a Gundam or any other anime mecha?
I hope Sava finds a new place to host the forum…!
“…especially the soiled pants required EXTENSIVE cleaning.” 🙂
I’m still in the “not trusting” phase of the armor and it being removed from Alex.
Started reading the dreamland chronicals a couple of months back and have finally caught up with the latest page, took me forever but well worth it 😀
Hm… is Alex bummed about the helmet or thinking of what Dan showed him? Or is there a link between the two? *ponder ponder ponder*
Yeah, that pensive look has to be significant, I just don’t know in what way.
I was thinking it was more of a “thinking on what Dan showed him” or of the task ahead, and not on the helmet. His response “Oh. Thanks.” reads to me more of a coming out of a transe, getting caught not listening response. But I could be “reading” too much into two little words.
The forum will stay up indefinitely, actually — it just won’t be possible to post there any more: it’s just a historical record now. It was my pleasure to host it for you, Scott.
Welcome!! 😀
I was a little puzzled by his reaction, too. It seems a little odd for him to be bummed about the helmet not being fixed yet, but it also feels like odd timing for him to get lost in thought about what Dan showed him. Hopefully we’ll understand in the next few pages…maybe. 🙂
I never posted at the forum (since I check my comics from the office, it’s much easier to just post comments instead of getting lost in a massive forum), but I still think you’re awesome for helping out that way! 🙂
Is Alex ok???
He’s not Alex … he’s Nicodemus in disguise!
(Seriously; you just know we’re all going to be seeing ole Nick jumping out of every shadow for the next several months until he finally reappears.)
😉
Wait, wait! Is that a dragon in the armor’s reflection?!
Drat!
I have failed as a storyteller.
Alex was supposed to look down at the scratches…then…up to Arvamas.
I may have to rework the body language and face.
Sorry for the confusion.
I shall now go sit in the corner and cry.
Alex’s last line should be, “It feels great.” or “How do I look?”
I don’t look at it as a failure, Scott. He appears pensive, and there should be a lot on his mind. I still feel it is a very successful page. 🙂
I don’t see it as a failure, Scott! Alex looks pensive, and he should have a lot on his mind right now! I feel this is actually a very successful page. 🙂
Not sure why the other posts didn’t go through, but I just wanted to say that I don’t think of this as a failure, Scott! Alex looks pensive and he should have a lot on his mind. I think this is actually a very successful page. 🙂
Scott has explained below, but I had wondered if it was possible for Alex to be drowsy in Dreamland.
There, there. [pats author gently on shoulder]
Maybe an exclamation point after the ‘Thanks’? I was glad to see the scratches still on the breastplate, although I imagine a smoother surface would be easier to portray.
Thank you, Brett! ^_^
This page is adorable. I love Alex and Nastajia’s dynamic. And Arvamas. Arvamas is pretty awesome. =D
LOL! XD
Maybe have him touch the scratches when he’s contemplating them?
Gee, I thought he was day dreaming about what “achieve anything together” could mean. Of course if that was the case, Alex would have a big grin on his face! 😉
I thought he was giving him a suspicious look at the word ‘cleaned’. But then, maybe that’s just me and Bezman.
Gee Scott, I didn’t consider this page a failure at all. Alex looks pensive, and he should have a lot on his mind. I think the page is quite successful. 🙂
+1
Pfff
You KNOW he wants to say that in front of Nastajia
That might work–I also thought Arvamas should mention the scratches after the helmet, so Alex can react to his last topic?
Darn! I had started making some rescripts, quite a while ago, and had not had time to complete them… I wanted to have a few of them to put up at once, before joining the forum officially… guess I waited too long.
If I ever finish them, I’ll post them somewere and link to them, I guess…
Another fine example of the proverb: “He who hesitates is lost.”
I actually did think he was looking at the scratches. For once, looking at the most basic solution works out for me!
Whereas the the expression on his face reminded me of Rupret of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzVHR21iExI
