Any chance on converting the app to iPhone/iPod as well? I know it would be smaller, but I’ve got an iTouch 32g now, and an ipad isn’t in the cards for the near future. Here’s hoping at some point π
Dan, the quintessential geek. Reading books on long dead wizards, chronicling the adventures of his brother in a far off planet where elves and Dwarves and Fairies exist. And he also has a girlfriend.
I agree- I’ve got an iPhone4S (32GB) that will be arriving on Saturday. With that Retina Screen, I can’t wait to start viewing photos, websites, and videos on there (and even comics, if I can get them)!
Since he has a girlfriend that makes him a rare kind of geek. lol
Yesterday page 1365 and today page 1364 ?
Anyway the flow is correct, I think: it’s probably just a misprint π
Actually we reach the halfway point of the story and are now counting down to the conclusion.
No not really. Geeks are becoming dating material more and more these days. Of course the ability to think that a perfect equation, completing a puzzle of optimus prime in 1:5 scale, and knowing Thorins Oakenshields genealogy by heart, and making such things close second to your girl, doesn’t endear us that much to women. Still though, there is hope.
If anyone knows where and if I can find the Optimus Prime puzzle, is welcome to send me a link.
Yup… the app is free, but the comics cost money. π And whomever yesterday said that Dan might be the next Merlin seems to be on the right track…
It’s true. I’m marrying a geek in 10 days. *nodsnods* I’ve also always preferred geeks…though some of my friends would say it’s because I’m mostly a geek myself. π
On a side (and more comic related) note, I’m actually glad that reading up on Merlin is all that Dan was up to. He seemed a little stilted and strange the last two pages, and it made me nervous that something was wrong.
Hmmm…now I’m wondering if the legends of Avalon might be at all tied to what Merlin heard from Arthur about Seraphopolis. π It’s the only Arthurian bit I know of that is steeped in mysticism and although I’ve heard mundane explanations for Avalon, none of them were ever very satisfactory.
A memorial would be nice. A pension to those families that lost the major breadwinner would be better, but we don’t know enough about kingdom finances to tell if that’s possible.
The expression interplay between Dan and Nicole over the book is marvelous. π
Cool! A chance for good research to make a contribution. π
In this light, Dan almost looks like a ghost or hologram.
What a lucky geek Dan is. Instead of getting immersed in the fictional world of Lord of the Rings or World of Warcraft, he gets immersed in a real world, though he can’t visit said real world.
That’s the problem with this ‘real world’ thing. Fictional ones at least tend to have a more or less well defined canon. And just look at what the modern physics has become.
Wow, my mind has been blown. I was doing some research on Arthurian legend literally minutes before I read today’s page.
i want to tell dan “bless you”
To much time studying in the library can do that to you.
My fiancΓ©’s number one piece of dating advice fro her female friends is “go find a geek”. According to her, despite our our obsession with all things geekdom, we make the best boyfriends/marriage material. Probably becuase we spent all that time immersed in a quasi-historical chivalric society were we are supposed to respect women. π
Just the cosmological arrow of time is reversed..nothing to fear here
Another thing about geeks is their ability to focus–and, with help, to focus on things that matter, like learning what a girl wants and likes, building a family, and so on. I’ve heard Deacon James Keating twice tell the story of how his new wife got him out of the library and committed to a family “Happy Hour”, to shift from thinking it was “bachelor life with a beautiful, blonde, live-in girlfriend” to an actual marriage. And he sure makes it sound like a nerd.
