I find myself agreeing with Felicity on this one, because it makes the most sense for finding Seraphopolis in the shortest amount of time. They should have Paddington and Felicity stay on the main deck of the ship, making sure everything is being run properly, Nastajia in the crow’s nest because she (being an elf) should have the best eyesight, (at least during the day, and at night perhaps stick Felicity up there), and Alex and Kiwi (being the only one capable of flight when Alex isn’t around) should be flying off on opposite sides in order to fan out more for searching purposes. When Alex is waking up and when Kiwi is getting tired, they just return to the ship so that they start from there when they are ready again. They have enough that they can even sleep in shifts and still cover everything fairly well.
We don’t quite know yet how fast and how high this ship can fly. And we’ve heard Kiwi mentioning 100 square miles as too huge an area for her to scout out.
AVAST ye scurvy dog! Thar be one last point I be makin. Whar will them lubbers be findinâ a crew fur that rickety scow, arrr? AArrrr Theyâll be needin a savvy crew will they, nil they, an thatâs the truth of it. Best ta be fetchin them dogs what they tossed to tha fishes right smartly now an strike up tha parley. very uncomfortable with how unprofessionally gloatingly happy they are at taking the law into their own hands and dumping pirates out of ships and then stealing it… is this what a monarchy is about…?? i keep thinking this will backfire somehow…
I’m mad I missed international talk like a pirate day. But if they really cant pilot the ship at all it might just be worth it to take a few members of the old pirate crew (and take turns watching them). Otherwise they’ll have to go to a city and “recruit” (impress) a crew (It’s good to be the king).
Well, technically, since Alex is king, he is in charge of the laws and the enforcement of them, so if he decides that it is time to reinstate the law about the protection of children, and the expulsion of pirates from Dreamland, that is his choice. However, I do think that it would have been better to have them sail back to the Nightmare Realm, rather than force them to stay in Dreamland longer due to having to walk/swim.
We don’t know how fast it can fly, and it is too far for her to search on her own, I agree. My point was that we know that both it and she can fly even when Alex isn’t there (unlike everybody else), so if she flies away from it (but still in sight of it) while searching, she can see farther than they could see from the ship, allowing them to cover more ground in the same amount of time (even without Alex), and she can always return to the ship when she gets tired in order to rest. When Alex is there, he can be doing the same thing on the other side of the ship in order to cover even more ground.
This would make sense if she can fly faster than the ship itself. Otherwise, the ship will have to match speeds, or even stop now and then to pick her up, probably slowing the search down much more that her flights sideways could speed it up.
Also, the optimal height for this search may well exceed that of an unaided fairy. I, for one, have never seen fairies fly above clouds. Don’t think anybody has, for that matter. đ
I imagine that she, being powered by magic, could fly at least as fast as the ship, unless a strong wind is blowing (especially since she has proven fast enough to move in front of somebody and stop an arrow from hitting them, even though that was a sprint).
As for never seeing fairies fly that high, it is only because they are so small that it is almost impossible to catch a glimpse of them once they are that far above the ground. In fact, since even with their size (and especially because of the trail they leave), they would probably have been noticed flying around below the clouds at some point by some observer (and I don’t see many recordings of that), I surmise that their preferred flight level must be at least cloud level, if not higher. I believe this might be further substantiated due to the trails that they leave, which we don’t really see down here, but could potentially be mistaken as rainbows of sorts when above the clouds.
Fair points, yet I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
There’s got to be something preventing fairies (even their elite stealth wings) from frequenting this flying island. Otherwise, its location would be common knowledge among them.

Well, Felicity got the “HARR!!” -look to a pinch, so, Yeah! she shoyuld be cap’n
Supposing that Alex wakes up when on board the airship….where will he appear when he fall asleep again?
Floating in the air?

How fast? Why, my good sir, airships fly at the speed of plot!
…
…
*Crickets*
*snorfle, tee hee* Steal your prize there, did she, Felicity? *big ol’ grin*
Wait. You dumped all the pirates right before International Talk Like A Pirate Day!!!?!!!?? Avast ye me hearties!!! MUUTINYYYYYYY!!!!!
And here I thought Nastajia would be the first to comment that action, guess Alex is Lawful Good now he’s the new king đ
BAHA. That’s funny.
How many letters on a pirate’s keyboard?
2. ‘Ay’ and ‘Arr’.
G-geez! Felicity’s eyes! That threw me off for a second. xD
If nothing else, it’s nice to see someone besides Alex and Nastajia take the reins.
*snaps fingers* I KNEW there was something special about September 19!
“They be my charts!”
“That makes you… chartman!”
Kiwi is captain for the same reason that it’s Rory and Amy Pond, and not Rory and Amy Williams.

LOL!
I should have had you write the Pirate dialog!
I was wondering the same thing! Though I suspect that the quantum forces of P.L.O.T. will firmly anchor his Dreamland locus to the deck of the ship.
đ
Doh, Shuh up all a ye!! Oops… er, well, since the job of captain was in question, I thought I’d cast my lot in… sorry… sorry… sorry…
Oy’d vote for yeh…
Ah, but she is Amy Williams now …

” i keep thinking this will backfire somehow⌔ Should be good propoganda to motivate entire nightmare realm to go to war.

Monopoly on crime is exactly what any sort of government is all about. Just rub it firmly until that shimmering PR stuff goes off, and you’ll see.

I love Kiwi’s face in panel three <3

Crime? No–it’s just reinstating a treaty unlawfully abrogated by a usurper, Nicodemus.

đ let me guess a gamer of some sort(I’m gonna go with roleplay/wargames)
Physical Limitations Of Time?
Parabolic Linear Origin Theory?
Pharyx Lacerations On Throat?
(Ok, I’ll stop.)
Her face is probably stuck that way.
