Gotta love that irreverent sense of humor that Felicity has! And Nastajia is such an easy target for her because she’s kind of a bit straight laced and all.
I love that Felicity winked at Nastajia while doing this. It is quite hilarious, especially seeing the look on Nastajia’s face afterward. I’m also looking forward to hearing what she wants to ask. Will it be an important, serious, question, or will it just be her asking how much of the loot she can haul away?

All I could think of (with this page) was this…
I have my reservations about Nic’s death as well, but given the circumstances (being beat up by Alex, stabbed through the heart, then drowned – remember he’s a fire-breathing dragon), it seems that the odds are against him surviving. But you’re right, there’s still those nightmare creatures that they have to deal with. And given that so many more chapters are upcoming, I’m expecting more plot twists.
I think you’re safe; Felicity has more of a “Smarmy Wink”, and the raised eyebrows on Staj and Alex are more an indication that they’re still three sentences behind Felicity and trying desperately to catch up.
Speaking of catching up – I finally caught up! After my Lenten Hiatus, catching up took me a LOT longer than I thought it would, primarily because of Dreamland’s incredibly prolific – and quite profound, in many cases – community of commenters. But I’m back! And here to stay; I think I’ll choose something else to give up for Lent next year …

My computer got hacked!
Yes…I’ve spent the day re-installing windows and praying that I didn’t lose every bit of work I have on it.
Fortunately the work is still there…but I have to re-install EVERY bit of software again.
I’ll HOPEFULLY be back in business by mid-day. But if not…you know why.
Sorry about this. I’m sure somewhere a 13 year old hacker is giggling to himself.

Good luck Scott! I had a call from a friend of mine over the weekend, she almost got loaded some pretty nasty malware. Folks that write that stuff should have a special place they are sent to – with keyboards and no way to use them.
It’s Windows, and it’s connected to the Net… I’m afraid you’ll have your chance yet.
Meanwhile, can you think of an easy to use backup that would survive the next invasion? This time Scott’s data remained intact, but luck is poor substitute for a backup copy. (I’d give him an account and space on my home server, but script kiddies would learn the password in no time. Besides, I’ve got only 10Mbit/s on the uplink. Some WORM media maybe?)
Of all the websites I visit, I wish it was anything but yours! Stupid jerk! I’m really glad all your files are safe and I hope repairing the damage goes smoothly.
I highly doubt that it is a 13 year old, because they wouldn’t be so advanced at hacking. I think you should more of a 28 year old hacker sitting there and laughing in his mom’s basement 🙂
Hopefully Scott already has a backup solution of some sort in place. (If not, shame on you Scott!)

Actually, individual “hobby hackers” of any sort are on the decline in this day and age. Hacking and malware production has become a big business, largely controlled by high tech criminal organizations. The script-kiddies are still around, but they’re in the minority.
