Page 1290…
Happy Monday, All!
I just got back from a business trip to Los Angeles where I was able to meet with the nice people at Fox about one of our movies (I really need to find out when they’re going to announce it) and also had some other great meetings of OTHER movies.
Needless to say, a LOT is going on…and I am swamped.
But…I will do all I can to wrap this chapter up ASAP and we’ll see where things go from there.
I’m so glad you’re all enjoying these pages…and I hope today’s page isn’t too “mushy”.
Scott
Odd question: Are Kiwi’s wings magical? Because they’d be too wet by now to fly otherwise, I think.
…Fox? Be way of them. They have constantly screwed over Josh Whedon a lot. Other than that, that’s great news! We’re patient 🙂 Great job, as always, though, on the comic.
She’s a fairy, so I’d assume so, especially with magic powder coming out of them, lol 🙂
wow….words!!
Bognok:
“Yeah, let me state that again: Foolish girl!”
Is there a difference?
D’awwwww!
To love is to be, for without love there can be no plants, nor animals, nor even life—
*Bognok runs through and bashes me in the head*
Bognok: Foolish poet!
Love how kiwi wings they look very fragile and gossamer filament texture looks astounding on this page, scott you out did you self with kiwi in this page, she my second favorite character next to padditon
Chees-eeey!
And then…..
Alex wakes up in his bedroom. And Nastaja is also in the human world. That would be interesting. Love bounds them. And drowning is also kinda soul removing eh? 🙂
So basically NOBODY else dives in to help? Nice….
I will cut the centaur some slack as the physiology probably isn’t compatable for diving… maybe a little horse paddling along the surface at best.
Paddie may be very dense, but I don’t recall how long our favorite paperweight can hold his breath, or if he can even forgoe it for short times or not. While dwarves and deep water have never been a good combo, Bogboy (and yes, he has now earned himself a carpy nickname for this) has been cast as a bit different than our traditional images so he may well be capable of handling himself in water.
Yeah, maybe there is merfolk down there to help, but any help from above would have been useful.
This is the real reason Nic got away with stuff as long as he did. Easier to stand back and say how you have no chance to take on a dragon, how foolish to dive off a bridge to actually SAVE the guy who just went 3 rounds with said dragon, etc.. rather than actually doing something about it. Yes they stood up to the dragon together, but how many would have without someone to guide this pack of sheep?
I’m amazed at Month and Sven. They almost read my mind. What were they planning on doing anyway? Just stand and see what comes up? Come to think of it, they are high up, but didn’t Alex and the gang jump form the same spot a couple chapter ago? I have a feeling that Scott has something up his sleeve, but I could be wrong.
Man, it’s been over a week since anyone said more than two words…
AWWWW!!!!!! No, not too mushy. Though I’m ready to kill Bognok…
I didn’t realise until today how early in the day you usually upload the new page… normally I have to wait until the late afternoon( Brisbane, Australia) but now I’m up at 6:60 am in Phoenix…
paddington’s frown is upside down. LITERALLY.
…well, look at it! his eyebrow crease is more visible than his mouth is!
The two aren’t mutually exclusive.
Well, Fox as a TV network screws people over. I think Fox as a movie producer is a bit of a different story. They’re the ones that Lucas worked with for Star Wars, I know that much (he went to Paramount for Indy, though). Hm.. apparently they’ve taken on distribution of Narnia. In any case, Fox for TV and Fox for films/movies seem to pretty different. Though Joss Whedon did go with Universal for Serenity.
Kiwi totally should have been in the ‘hands clasped, big sugary smile’ pose when she said that. I mean, she’s Kiwi, she can pull it off!
Yeah…I’m gonna go with “They’re both right”
Um… So after all of this it is still only the fairy that has discovered that the two are in love? Or are the rest suffering from the shock of the realization that their suspicions have been confirmed?
I’d say it’s more important to show how upset she is, so no
What? We don’t get to see how the fall ends?
Same thing
It’s not mushy… it’s squishy. 😛
You mean his smile is upside-down, from the way the brow curves.
Kiwi seems blown away by this little revelation. 🙂
Take your time, Scott, movies are well worth the wait for more pages, no matter how painful the wait.
Foolish? In love?
“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose
By any other name would smell as sweet.”
Don’t push yourself, Scott. We all remember your basketball fiasco.
1. Get your needed rest. Eat your balanced diet. Play with your children. (They need you as well) Spend quality time with your wife. Talk with your movie people. Draw The Dreamland Chronicles expertly.
Repeat step 1.
Not mushy or cheesey…its truth! *picks up her large club and beats Bognok repeatedly with it* Stupid, stupid, Dwarf King!
“What’s going on here?”
“Something you wouldn’t understand. It’s called love.”
:CoughSpiritedAwayforthewin:
Great page today! I love Kiwi’s wings and expression…
Is the rest of her? Because the water running down her in the second and third panels is scaled to bigger folk. Maybe she has a magic field around her that compresses everything’s size? 😀
None, whatsoever.
And yet, such foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, to paraphrase a Book I’ve read a few times.
Out of the mouths of babes–and, if no babes are around, pixies will do.
CMOA, Kiwi!!!!! Awesome!
yep, love makes jump of cliffs into water to save a dim witted guy it will do that to ya.
So, on a random note, I’ve taken to pronouncing Bognok as BOHN-yohk.
Which two people at Fox qualify as the “nice people”?
<3 Joss Whedon
Nice to see Kiwi get a word in.
Remember, all the way back on page 4, Kiwi was the one to say they (Nastajia and Alex) were in love…
I thought it was hockey?
So was what Bognok said. People often lose reason when in love and make foolish decisions. Sometimes those decisions prove to have value in the end, but sometimes they are looked back upon with regret. It is questionable how much good she can do my jumping into the water, when she might have done more good by blowing the conch that is kept in her cape to alert the merfolk, but it does symbolize how much she loves him, and is a touching gesture (though still foolish).
