I’m not so sure that Alex is conscious, Nick probably has a pretty hefty punch.
Waiting to see what Bognok does, he’s gotta be around somewhere.
Awesome two page sequence, Scott! It is nice to see others getting into the action, too. I hope this is enough to bring Alex back to his senses so that he can finally dispatch Nicodemus, especially since Nicodemus just used the hand that was pummeling Alex to protect himself, giving Alex a chance to get up and grab his sword.
I would like to see Bognok get in on the action some more, too. Maybe jumping down right behind Nicodemus and bringing his mace down right on his head, saying “I fight for him, too! I fight for the rightful king!” That would be a sweet scene. (While not quite the same sentiment as Nastajia’s statement, it would still be quite powerful.)
Oooh..I love the lighting in panel 2. The subtle emanation of light from the arrow is way cool!

Great page, but shouldn’t Nastajia be saying something like “And I FOR him!” and not just “And I, him.”
This way it kinda sounds like he is fighting for her and she acknowledges that help by fighting him, and not a t his side.
I think the first panel is just trying to show a “time lapse” effect where Nastajia is surrendering her height advantage over the dragon, only to have all of her arrows keep hitting Nicodemus from above even though she is now standing below him.
Nice! Really enjoying the lighting as others have said.

And it just gets worse. Nastajia and Alex could be fighting for Dreamworld, but no, they are just fighting for each other. Bleah.
Perhaps, but in old-schoolish speech that might be used by formal speaking elven monarchs, her way is still correct if punctuated properly.
It’s the romance of it! They’re still in the “new” stage of that relationship, when other things seem less important, but I think it’s very unlikely that either one of them doesn’t care for Dreamland enough to fight for it.

On the arrows coming downward at Nic even though Staj is now below him, while some of this may have been the angle at which we seem to be looking up at Nicodemus in that last panel one must remember that arrows don’t simply fly straight but rather follow an arcing trajectory. Nastaja is probably still far enough away for the arrows to top out and start their descent before striking him.
Nice page! Love the time lapse action scene of Nastaja leaping down from roof to roof to reach the street. Go Staj, go! ^_^
I guess it gives away my age that Nick’s line made me think of the Doobie Brothers.

Well, traditions do differ. But I really doubt there’s an archer changing styles every other arrow. It’s either thumb side, or it’s as wrong as this unbendable bow 🙂

I believe today’s picture shows it correctly, and yesterday’s was wrong. I grew up shooting archery from a very young age (5-6?) and was always taught that the arrow rested on side of the bow with the back of the hand / knuckles. Most modern bows have a grooved rest located there for just that purpose.

Sentence structure dictates that either option is acceptable, assuming that there is no structural ambiguity. “For” is an added preposition in your suggestion, but it is implied on the present page. Yeah, I’m an English major…
Anyway, I sense that Alex’s other friends are going to jump in and attack Nicodemus while getting in their own two words. Keep up the great work Scott!
Well, I ain’ no English Native – I’m Austrian and most o’ my life I’m talking either in German or Austrian Sign Language – therefore lingual subtleties just as the one you ‘ve described simply escape me.

for a second i thought five Nastajias suddenly popped up. lol that would have been epic.

I also did a double take seeing so many Nastajias. One way to fix that (if you are so inclined and have the available time) is to make the other Nastajias faded (the ones further back faded more), and possibly put some lines or streaks in between them.

Question: The graphic below the comic says I should check out the ads on the site. I look. And, more often than not (probably 90% of the time), two of those Project Wonderful ads are for this really interesting-looking webcomic… called The Dreamland Chronicles.
Actually, come to think, I’ve got a few questions about that.
1. How does that happen?
2. Can you fix it?
3. What happens to/for you if I click one of those ads? You get paid if I click an ad on your site, correct? But do you also pay if I click an ad for your comic? If so, I’m assuming that would be a net loss?

To answer your question…the project wonderful ads are NOT the ones that need clicking.
It’s the ads at the top, right (above the project wonderful), and bottom of the page.
To answer your OTHER question…the ads that show my comic mean that there’s temporarily no advertisers in that slot. No big deal.
And to answer your last question…
The ads DO pay more when you click. The clicking lets the advertisers know that my readers are active. Not bots. And then they pay me more for the right to advertise on the site.

Hmm. I’m not seeing any ads other than Project Wonderful. My ad blocker is off on your site, and I don’t have FlashBlock or NoScript on this computer.
Yet… hmm. When I load in IE instead of FF, I get a box of Google text ads at the bottom and an additional ad in the sidebar (which, yes, is just above the Project Wonderful sidebar ad).
I do have TACO and Ghostery, which block or opt out of tracking cookies, but those should only block the cookies, not the actual content.
… Wow, okay. That was fascinating. I unblocked the cookies one at a time. Each one spawned another tracking cookie from another ad site when I subsequently reloaded the page. OpenX led to Google AdSense which led to TribalFusion which led to DoubleClick which led to ComScore Beacon and Double Verify…
And yes, once I let ALL of those tracking cookies through, the extra ads appeared. Who knew?
But now I have to go update my anti-spyware programs and run some scans. (It’s okay. Wednesday is SpyBot Update Day, anyway.)
