Oddly enough, the perceived ambiguity from last Friday is still not resolved…
I’d say it is. If he meant “this day”, then his saying “while I still have breath” would be kind of weird, as it implies two different durations. Whereas if he meant “this human”, it would make a lot more sense.
So I look too far into things shut up leave me alone.
Though, if he blows the tower up, making it collapse on himself so that he dies, his drawing breath might even be shorter than that current day (though I agree that he was referring to Alex, not the day). Also, I’m not sure it’s possible to look into things to much or think about them too much, but I’ll have to study it some more and give it more thought to be sure.

Hey Scott, for your info, I just checked the page with the add-blocker ENABLED, so I didn’t see the adds. I could see the image of Ed’sTerrestrials, but not the daily reminder to check the adds. So if you make the daily reminder just like the Ed’s Terrestrials image it will show to the ones who have an add-blocker active. But as it is, only the ones that already see the adds also see the reminder…
Maybe something you can work on if needed.

I think he is lurching. Alex has a nifty shield function built into the suit. He might be trying to intercept the breath attack on the big dorf.
Looks like Alex is moving in front of Felicity to me. I don’t know, the foot still looks a little awkward, though.

Not the only one…Alex is pretty flame resistant as well, and the shield he can generate is capable of helping other people be fire resistant. 🙂
I think it’s very appropriate. Nic probably unleashed his fiery fury pretty quickly, so anything more than a “NO!” would have been impossible.
Nic needs to lay off those pizzas with the extra Jalapenos and Habaneros. Oh, and I think he may need some Tums…..
No, to draw breath is to inhale. That will not do much damage.
Dragon breath is depicted in many ways. Sometimes it looks like a flame thrower (napalm + methane propellant, leaves a burning liquid trail), an oxy-acetylene torch (intense blue jet), acetylene (smoky flair), an air-propane torch (blue and yellow straight flame) , a person spitting fire (lighter fluid, ethanol etc makes a flair), or a burst of gasoline (makes a fireball). Magnesium shotgun shells and attacks from the USAirForce’s AC-130 have also been called “dragons breath” but I have not seen fantasy art that looks similar. All of these are involve exhaling, spitting or shooting out.
Sometimes dragons have other types of breath weapons, non-fire. Poison gas, acid, ultra-sound, lightning etc. I believe lightening is the only one that could be an inhale. Natural lightning and electric arcs look the about same whether the electrons go up or down.

I just dun get the explosion. Take a flame thrower, wash the fire over rock, no explosion. Nic has flame breath, not bomb breath. Unless he breathes plasma capable of superheating the rock to the point the heat makes it explode, in which case everyone dies from being ashified by plasma. Flames shooting out the windows, sure. Explosion, gotta have more info on the deal before I’m buying.

Incidently, I’m of the opinion that dragon breath, expelled at high velocity, combined with intense fire, in a space where there might not be enough openings to vent the expelled gas and flame, can, and most certainly would, have a lot of concussive force, so… BOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah…. BIG BOOMS!

You know, last week I was like “Jeez you know Nicodemus is just going to throw a giant fireball loogie at them and burn them all to a crisp” but I would have been afraid that people would think I was voting for the bad guys.

…Ignoring Liam’s overreaction here, (Although he is right about suspension of disbelief), there are many ways that people claim dragons breathe fire. Not all of them are flamethrower varieties. Many of them also include fireball explosion breaths. Think of it like hawking up a giant loogie that, once it hits, splashes on everything. Only this time it’s a giant freaking fireball that blows crap up.
I mean, that’s what *I* envisioned when I saw this panel. *shrug?*

why monologue? to stroke their own egos and prove just how awesome they are before you explode. i mean if ya think you can win no matter what it is tough to contain the “ha ha! i BEAT YOU I BEAT YOU NANANANANANA!” personally though i usually do manage to contain it so my enemies DONT have a chance and THEN gloat. just a tad, i dun wanna be a jerk.

Isn’t Alex’ leg looking a bit strange. Is he running and turning at the same time?
Nastajia is not visible enough. The matching blues of Alex’s armour, Bognok’s armor and mace, and Felicity’s outfit surrond and effectively hide Nastajia. She is invisible unless you look closely.
It’s a difficult framing decision. You want to show Nic drawing breath while showing Alex moving forward to protect the babes, and there’s no clear angle to do that.
Maybe if Bognok was moved aside a little the current angle would work?
Or maybe a diagonally divided panel, with a closeup of Nic opposing a portrait of Alex, Taji, and Flick? I think that would be best, *if* the triangular half panels can be made to suitably frame the action.

Some people balk at the strangest suspensions of disbelief.
seems they forgot nic is a FIREBREATHING DRAGON! should of left the room while they had the chance.
That depends. If whatever flammable component makes up the fiery breath actually comes from a separate gas (or liquid, or I suppose even plasma) bladder that is completely separate from the lungs that are used for respiration, then a flame could be expelled without inhaling first.
One would assume, though, that the above design would require the dragon to hold its breath while “breathing” fire, and if dragon respiratory anatomy is in any way similar to human and other mammalian anatomy, then it would generally be more comfortable to hold its breath with full lungs than empty lungs. Thus, inhaling before “breathing” fire would be common and comfortable, but not necessary.

We physics geek types are like that. We suspend disbelief and accept that Magical Things – fire-breathing dragons, enchanted swords, magic glowy energy arrows, whatever – can bend or break the laws of physics in very specific ways. Taking these magical effects as assumptions, we go from there to fit everything else into a modified framework that does obey an appropriately modified set of the laws of physics.
It’s that pesky logic thing; we just can’t turn it off …

I should clarify: given a sufficient – and sufficiently rapid – buildup of pressure in the room associated with Nick’s fire breath, that pressure could very well overcome the structural integrity of the walls of that room. And make a “Boom!” sound.
Nope. No prob with dragon fire :} not even a squidgit. Just the a construction worker who tried making rocks blow up with torches. Little crack and fall apart is bout all. Now, columns crumbling from the crackage and the canopy collapsing….. yes, my suspension fails at peculiar times. Usually it is very firm and resilient, I even manage to have a hate on for Nic when I love dragons and usually like them as the good guy, but can’t see Nic as good, just between atrocities. Can’t wait to see him get spanked, lol, that would be funny, Alex with Nic over his knee spanking him as part of the surrender terms.
