Heh… we know that Alex has a hard time grasping things, but I believe he has a valid point today. As well as the fact that Nick has something up his scales.
Nic is being unusually suspicious today. I don’t like this one bit. I’m glad the Guardians were finally mentioned though.
I was just wondering, “Huh, if this tablet is here, what about the one the one guarded by those cool sounding Guardians?” 🙂

In all seriousness, Nic looks like he’s going to attempt a pirouette in that third panel there with the way his arms and legs are poised…
Why Nick is saying this ? But that’s obvious ! He’s in love with Alex, and want to hug him.
I suspect he’s going to say he attacked and destroyed the guardians so Alex and his buds are up the creek without a paddle and might as well surrender now and save him some bother. Silly Dragon, never underestimate the underdog.
Maybe it’s me.. maybe it’s the way it’s drawn.. I’m starting to sense a slow burn in the way Alex asks that.
If so.. I just love those hero moments.. “OK.. now, I’m pissed.”
That would definitely dishearten them if Nic had done that. Though I have a suspicion that Nic is saying this because he can’t get to the guardians for some reason so he’s hoping Alex will go there and Nic can then destroy/manipulate the guardians by using Alex as a puppet.
*sigh* Alex will never make a good poker player… or any other competitive game where you need to hide your expression @_@
maybe i’m just cynical, but why would he react to anything Nic says? He could very well be lying about the whole thing in order to use Alex or something, similar to what Kronostar was saying. I agree on encouraging Nic to talk~ though I wouldn’t be sad or happy no matter what he says, until i have some way of verifying EVERYTHING that he said =3
Actually, letting Nic think he’s getting just the reaction he’s hoping for is a good way to keep him talking and hopefully encourage him to let something slip that he shouldn’t as he gloats over how easily he’s disheartening the heroes.
BTW, Nic’s wings seem to be missing in panel 1, and I can’t see his tail anywhere in panel 3.

His tail is exactly behind his wing as for the no wings in the first panel they are just out of camera. Its a matter of perspective if you look in panel 3 they don’t even start till mid bad. There’d be know why he’d forget any details cause its just the same image zoomed in. If I may be so bold I believe this is the pose nic was in when talking to the first king of dreamland as well.
Nope he walked on all fours…hmm I never noticed that. Nic only begun to walk on two legs after being accepted as ruler. Rereading the conflict between Nic and Auther I have to agree with Nic. What arther did was selfish

I love it how Alex seems to be bushing off Nic’s taunt in the last panel.
To all those that are wondering why Nic is telling Alex that I think i know what it is. The location of the island was in code which poor Nic couldn’t figure out. He’s thinking that maybe Alex and his friends will be able to figure it out and lead him right to it. Hey the island is supposed to be hidden so I highly doubt the location would be written on the tablet so anybody could read it. Or maybe only the true king of dreamland, read Alex, can read it. Nic might have saved that piece of the tablet hoping that Alex would spill the beans in shock. It could be either one of them but Nic’s goal in both of them would be to learn where the guardians are. This is only a guess on my part but I think it’s a good one. We’ll just have to wait and see.
My only guess is that Nick is rubbing the tablet’s loss in Alex’s face, especially the location of the Guardians. What are they? The creators of Dreamland? I bet they are the key force in helping Alex regain the proper throne and do something have Nick back off. I don’t want to see him killed. I doubt he’s missing a scale anywhere like Smaug.

The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sici.. I mean Dragon when death is on the line!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! I rather suspect that Nick will next reveal that a Nightmare army has been sent to Seraphopolis. This leaves open several possibilities – the heroes finish here and dash to Seraphopolis just in time for a rescue, or we learn that Seraphopolis repulsed the Nightmare invaders, but at great cost, or even that the heroes were too late and Seraphopolis was sacked, leaving only a few survivors.
In the mean time, dramatic tension is increased until we learn the Guardians’ fate.

Are we forgetting that Nic is a pawn of the wraiths and is starting to feel used if not abused by them? He has always been true to Dreamland as he saw it. Perhaps we are about to see the return of Nic the faithful servant to the king. Perhaps Nicodemus has come to see Alex, who he knows is the rightful human king, as his way to finally be rid of the wraiths in his beloved Dreamland.
Hmm.Alex doesn’t seem to impressed or distraught….odd..
Or a bit less far fetched, Ol’ Nic needs Alex’s help to reach to the Guardians.
This is the second time in a week that someone fails to spot that the wings are partly TRANSPARENT. You CAN indeed see his tail through the wing, if you give it a try…
Dragon’s don’t usually outright LIE, they are more into the art of bending words to leave out the truth. It has been five years (I’ve been told), so I may have forgotten, but have we ever caught Nic outright LYING?
