Page 1221…
Hi all!
I hope the dialog works on this page. I was worried that you couldn’t tell who was talking.
Please let me know if it’s clear.
I just love the architecture of the castle of Astoria. I don’t get to show it off up close like this.
Too bad it’s raining.
I’m going to put up the other letters this week. These are the repeats from last week.
There were only 4.
So today through Friday will rerun them.
For those that missed it a second time around.
Thank you. And hope you continue to enjoy the comic.
Scott
Quick note: panel 3. strawberry.
You might want to fix the spelling of “strawberry.”
I can tell who’s talking just fine at least, so hey. That’s one at least. ๐
I have no trouble telling, either. This page alone explains why Felicity is in more danger than Nastajia (and there’s probably more danger to come, too). At least Nastajia is relying on Daniel to keep her alive, Felicity has to trust Alex.
It’s easy enough to figure out. And of course if you’ve been paying attention…
this is so cool! he’s flying!
*hums the Superman movie theme*
And I didn’t have any problems telling who was talking either.
stra?berry short cake.
I’m not the first to mention this, but still. I stumble over it when I read.
And: absolutely no problem in recognizing who’s talking.
Yeah, I don’t know how the other three came into existence in Dreamland.
Also, all the Alex and Felicity shippers are squeeeeeeing right now.
I don’t have trouble with knowing who’s talking either – and there have been comments about strawberry. Also: now the apple pie from the last page makes perfect sense. ๐
The link to the letters/voting appears dead (for me anyway).
Also, pretty obvious who’s talking.
Silly me, I forgot he’d figured out how to fly. So neat. A question though, as a Dreamland inhabitant how come Felicity can’t?
I think it is the (dreaming) human children who can fly, though if the centaurs could fly I guess you could call them horse flies. ๐
That was explained a little while back, don’t recall where exactly, but…it’s only when they’re with human children that most of the inhabitants of dreamland can fly.
What Sean said. But, to me, knowing that they could fly when they are NEAR a human who is flying, I don’t see why alex has to grab Felicity by the waist in order to fly. We have seen in earlier chapters that Alex’ friends could fly with him while he wasn’t touching them. I don’t see the advantage of Alex touching felicity, unless maybe if something unexpected would happen, it would be easier for them to do a maneuver together or something.
Sorry if I’m not making any sense here. ๐
Thank heavens Alex’s armor and sword are magical…that improves Felicity’s chances a little. ๐
Bahahahaha! ๐ I know just how she feels…*wanders off to find breakfast*
As for making the dialogue clear…it makes sense to me. Plus, I’m sure that when someone is reading through the pages without a day long break between, it will be even clearer.
Shortcake is normally spelled as one word in this case, but it shouldn’t make any difference in grammar.
FYI the letter doesn’t link.
Thank you all!
Yikes. Must have been “bleary eyed” when lettering the page last night.
I also fixed the link too.
Thank you!
is he helping her fly or just keeping her close?
She may be feline, but her sweet tooth is quite humanoid.
I think a bit of both…
I was a little disappointed that “cheesecake” didn’t make her list …
… but I went to TWC and voted anyway …
๐
just out of wonder. are dan and alex like your boys?
My twin sons’ middle names are Daniel and Alexander
:-I ๐ฎ XD
are they anything like their names sake?
One’s brown hair. Other blondish.
One likes sports more.
Other than that…they’re only 7…so we’ll have to see.
๐
lol.
On the last picture, it’s not clear from the drawing to tell who is talking, but you can guess from what they are actually saying. It was a confusing for a second, I’ll say. Maybe you’ll overcome your laziness and fix that. ๐
No i agree, that’s what i was wondering too. I thought that once Alex learns to fly again, his friends around him would be able to too.
The only thing I can think of is maybe it only applies to friends of human children? That seems like a redundant rule for a place with almost no human adults. Alternatively, Felicity has also forgotten how to fly since she lost Nicole and would need training again? But if Alex would go through the training, not sure why the more agile and adventurous Felicity wouldn’t. Or maybe because Felicity is not “linked” to Alex, because she was initially Nicole’s friend?
Or as Tiffany mentioned afterwards, it’s to “keep her close.” Maybe I’m just the insecure type, but not sure I’d like that much if I was Nastajia =P
That feline Lady is in for a fight and what is she thinking about? Gettin’ herself stuffed with cakes and sorta. That musta be an empty stomach rumbling around with a little Paddington dancing inside. ^^
Cool flying scene btw. Alex makes it look easy. ^^
This works fine for me! Love the interplay between Alex and Felicity.
Hey i’m kinda the new guy here i’m sure >_>
I just read through the comic over the last three hours, excellent plot/storyline/etc. and no, the dialogue here was not difficult. can’t wait to see the end of this. ๐
nah, the dialog was not to difficult to read, i could tell who was talking just fine. ๐
Yes, yes! Vote, vote, vote! Let’s keep Dreamland in the top 10!
My theory is that although Alex has learned how to fly himself he still hasn’t mastered the art of extending that ability to others around him the way children can. He needs to maintain close physical contact with someone in order to make them fly. This means he still hasn’t quite fully mastered all of his Dreamland powers just yet if I’m right.
Thanks Hunter!
And welcome!
Mmm yes I second the comment about Cheesecake. Would have been much better then peach cobbler. Heh its not Felicity is hungry *points at Scott* its because you were hungry!
now that I think about it its a good thing Alex worked on his concentration with her naming dilectables and all I’d have a hard time remembering to fly. lol

well, that was unexpected…
Are you referring to the Project Wonderful ad for The Dreamland Chronicles? Those are randomized; this happens fairly often (both here and at other comic sites).
Come to think of it, she could stand to gain some weight. Slenderness is a plus for sneak thieves, but a human of her proportions would look borderline anorexic.
well, if you see something really unexpected in the same screenshot, well, tell me, cause that’s the part where i got surprised. i mean, they could at least limit their ads to show up on it’s own website.. and i’m not a big online comic reader and i’m fairly new to dreamland too, so first time i notice it.
Oh Felicity, how much do I love thee?
Let me count the ways! ๐
Excelente, seรฑor Sava. Eeeeeeeexcelente.
I know people were pondering about the ‘rules’ as to why Felicity isn’t flying; I’m actually more confused by how she’s being held. As it seems like he’s ‘carrying’ her so they can both fly, the way her body dangles is wrong. Unless of course he’s strong-arming it, which would be far more difficult to do. Even if he’s manipulating Dreamland energies to increase his strength, it would still be awkward to fly upward while holding someone above and in front of you (thus blocking your sight). So, realistically, she would either be held lower, or probably be piggy-backed.
Alexander: “Hungry, felicity?”
Felicity: “Little bit. Maybe I shouldn’t have hit the catnip before the battle.”
Is it just me, or does Felicity look really happy Alex is holding her in panel 1?
Good to see real expertise on dspilay. Your contribution is most welcome.
