Picking a major is pretty difficult…just sayin’
I just came across this webcomic yesterday. At first I was like “WTF a 3D based comic?”. I mean I am quite a fan of traditional comics and not into non-tradional ones. But i got hooked on. And now I am on Page. 1153 in one day. 😀
Thumbs up on this one. 🙂
hey, I did the same thing a few months ago! Well, welcome 🙂
So true! I’m on my sixth one. 🙂
Poor Alex confused!
Addie Lang, You should check out their cartoon for just beautiful! Truly one of the best comics out there! Look forward to read more!
How about Political Science, considering his predicament?
What’s even more amazing is that LordArthur read the first 1153 pages back when there were only 1085 pages in existence… (he he he!)
Thanks Addie.
And welcome!
🙂
maybe alex is being a little selfish right now, but i can understand were he is coming from.
theology or cultural anthropology would prolly be helpful too, ya know, since he’s dealing with mythological creatures hehe
There are plenty of CGI Webcomics out there. However, there are very few FREE CGI Webcomics with this good of a story line and/or graphics. I also love how Scott actually changes things based upon the reader’s suggestion if it is a good suggestion. Many regular webcomics don’t even bother responding to reader’s comments, let alone make changes due to them!
If Alex is so indecisive about his future, then why did he go to college? Most people have a vague idea of what they want to do as a career when they sign up for college and pick/adjust classes as they see fit. I’m guessing only because Dan suggested that he do it.
Addie, I understand where you are coming from completely. As an artist myself, I generally use traditional media; however, I have recently been using an Ipad to color my works, since most artists do use their computers with a Wacom tablet for coloring. I was also dubious, to say the least, about a CGI webcomic when I started reading this. I found it by chance after reading Inverloch by Sarah Ellerton and, after finishing, going on to The Phoenix Requiem. I looked in the links page, searching for another comic. I found this one, Earthsong by Crystal Yates, Fey Winds by someone whose name escapes me, By Moon Alone by someone, and Fantasy Realms also by someone. I am very glad I found all these comics, and I have stuck with all of them even during hiatus. Trust me, this comic is well worth the patience, although it updates at least 3 times a week (good work Scott).
Now Alex learns that Duty is as heavy as a mountain, so now he has to cowboy up and accept responsibility for his duties which include all inhabitants of dreamland.
For those interested, there’s a REAAAAAALY old interview with Scott. I’m not sure if there are any more recent than this, but it’s a pretty decent listen. The interview itself starts at about 15:05 in case you don’t want to listen to the first 15 minutes.

Too bad Dan can’t do what Orion did, and drop Alex off a cliff to get him to focus. He’s just dithering now.
Betcha weren’t expecting this kind of response! 😉
Welcome, fellow dreamer! Don’t forget to vote: http://topwebcomics.com/vote/4274/default.aspx
Not necessarily. I dropped out of college about three times, and completed two courses at a Voc/Tech school, before I officially chose a major. The first time.
😉
Nice Jordan reference …
Droping him off a cliff you say?
Love can be a strong motivator.
Oh and by the way: Why do you need a major when you can be a KING! Just don’t get a job, live from social security and sleep all day.
Or even better: Write down your biography. I’m sure it makes a nice reading.
Or better… publish it as a web comic! … Scott, are you Alex?
I’m sure Dan will have a great “Major” idea. Lets see in this day and age the closest to kings in this country are CEO’s and presidents right? so MBA with a poli-sci minor. 😉 Though really the sky is still literally the limit. The real trick will be getting Nastajia to the “real” world. Would kinda be a bummer to have to be asleep all the time to have the life you really want (or of not life, to be with the one you really want).
Oh and Welcome Addie. This web comic is indeed the win.
Not in this instance.
I’ve always known I was an artist. Went to art school.
Deciding what major I should take was never a problem for me.
🙂
Hi, I’m following Dreamland since a looong time but I finally -had- to comment because this conversation between Alex & Daniel is the win and the awesome. So damn funny! Rock on Sava, keep up the great work!
hahahahahahahahaha, panel 3-6 is so classic!!!
Actually, some people go to college mostly *because* they are indecisive about a career path… ;o)
Thanks M!
Ummm… Medieval History???? Just sayin’….
Alex, Nastajia is a princess. It’s quite natural for her to expect her man to be royalty, and you do have royal blood in you.
And welcome to our eclectic community, fellow Dreamer!
(Don’t forget to VOTE … )
Thanks to you for this awesome webcomic!
Thank you, also for reminding me to vote! Guys, wouldn’t it be better to have a Vote button/banner/thingie directly under each strip, clearly visible & permanent… or somewhere else nearby?…
Hah! My avatar’s Alex! Love this dude! ^___^
We’ve had that discussion with Scott here before. He usually puts up a voting banner for the first week or so of each month, then switches over to use the space for something else.
(I sometimes think the voting and ranking on TWC is more important to us than it is to Scott, but that’s no reason not to go vote every day anyway!)
😉
You’re right, but if he doesn’t put a link I dunno what to do to vote Dreamland! I FAIL AT THE INTERWEBZ, I FAIL AT LIFE! I’ll have to think. Oh, no! (Anyways I’m gonna go vote again today, just to keep on the safe side).
Bye! ^___^
Wanna know a secret, M-?
The voting link is always under my screen name. Any time you want to go vote, and can’t find a link, just click on my name and it’ll take you there …
Well, didn’t quite expect the response but wasn’t that surprised. Cause this comic has a good community.
And as for voting, I did voted for it. Any good piece of work sure gets my vote. 🙂
Only rich people have the means to do things like that. Poor people only go to college when they have a specific career in mind that requires it.
Ha! You’re funny.
I just deleted a very long diatribe I was going to post here. I will sum it up instead: I am closer to poor than rich (though I usually tell people that I’m “not poor, just broke”), and I find your statement more than a little insulting. But I’m going to drop this, because this is not the place for an argument about the definition of poverty, a comparison of relative “poorness”, or any such thing, which is about the only direction in which this conversation can go.
😛
American university is weird.
