“You’re the One to rule them all, you’re the One to find them,
“You’re the One to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
“In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.”
Alex: I still dont want it(eyes tearing), you’re the true king, not me( faceplant on table) BONK!!
Dan: pushes Alex of the bench. “Listen up loser, you better grow some before i come over there and kick you so hard…….. man Alex remember i cant dream, HELLO( knocks on Alex head) Thats what i think woud be the next page 🙂
I am still worried that they left the sword on the bedside table, and those nightmare guys seemed to be able to travel between worlds, and Nicodemus wants to learn more about him.
On the other hand, maybe if Dan was to wear the sword he might be able to get into Dreamland
wait till dan finds out but dan,,,,, IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE YOU THAT DREW THE SWORD
but the first born curse when Arthur didnt leave and now that he gone you can come. but we found out that you could have come in since where twins..
Their hair still stays in the same position.
And everyone’s posted the other comments I wanted to make… Greatness thrust upon them…, this task was assigned to you Bilbo Baggins… etc.
Alex: “So it’s my fault that I’m in this mess?”
Dan: “Yup!”
Since he drew the sword, I think that’s what he’ll say next. Although, I do like this pep talk.
Dan: “Alex, you’re the one who drew the sword, so you’re the one who has to face this destiny of assassination, exile, or the life of a ludicrous puppet figure behind which the actual workings of government take place.”
Is there a slight continuity error in panel 3? Alex’s head was down, he lifts it to look at Dan in panel 2, and is in the same position in panel 4, but he looks down in 3? It seems like the “But!” would cause him to be more alert, not to look away; plus he was already talking and holding eye contact just before then. Not a big deal, but it felt a little off to me — I know you’re good at fixing those things, Scott 🙂
Suddenly Dan’s little pep talk makes sense. 🙂 At the beginning, I thought he was just being a jerk, but he’s brilliantly telling Alex exactly what he needs to hear.
I would gladly take a know-it-all prig over a less knowledgeable though nicer person. As long as he can lead and make sound decisions, and his personality isn’t too detrimental to the international face of the kingdom, he would do for king.
“Don’t worry Alex… You might make a terrible king and have no idea how to govern a bunch of people… BUT a magical talking sword chose you due to line of succession and because you pulled it out of a coffin, therefore you must be king.”
you tell him, Dan! 🙂
the other half of being a brother.
Mihihi, “this task has been appointed to you, Frodo Baggins. And if you do not find a way, no one will.” Love it 😀
To continue with what I said yesterday…I officially REALLY love Dan. 🙂
“You’re the One to rule them all, you’re the One to find them,
“You’re the One to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
“In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.”
Errr, sorry, got carried away there…

wait, where is the jukebox? Did I miss something in the blog about it?
shouldn’t alex tell dan that he the one really supposed to be king?
Just another great sequence … thanks!
Dan: “You’re the one that drew the sword. You’re the one that held it high and said “By the Power of Greyskull….”
I’m in a strange mood today
And everyone make sure to vote. Lets get Scott to No 1 where he belongs

So there!
oO
9 over 10 on my Weird-O-Meter.
Niiiiice job. 😛
This is, by far, the coolest prep talk EVER.
Go Dan. 🙂
Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon ’em.
Twelfth Night Quote Act ii. Scene 5.
I wonder… what will happen if he just says no and walks away from it… he, could, you know.
Actually deciding to comment after soo long :3 Loving Dan’s prep talk you can so tell who is the mature one here :p

And you are the one that has an elf following him about.
Note to self:
Next time you see a sword sticking out of a stone, think twice before reaching for it…
Dan: “Alex, you’re the one who drew the sword, so you’re the one who has to face this destiny of assassination, exile, or the life of a ludicrous puppet figure behind which the actual workings of government take place.”
“…you speak words, but all I hear is Wah-Wah-Wah….”
The more I see of Dan, the better idea it seems that he isn’t going to be the king. Who wants a know-it-all prig for a king?
Phil found a security hole in it.
Since we were hacked a couple weeks ago…he felt it best that we take it down.
I miss the jukebox…
BWAHAHAHA! That’s FUNNY. 😀
HA! Beat me to it! One of my favorite movie lines!
Uh Oh! Is bmonk embracing the dark side… 😮
Leaving the sword has made me nervous, as well… 😕

so, if all goes well, they win the war, they find the bracelet, and Dan comes to dreamland, will he then become King?

ohhhh. K, just make sure we get it fixed 🙂
So Alex, about that soon to be vacant Vizier position, I think you’ve found your Merlin.
