Page 1142…
Hi all…
Hope you’re enjoying the pages.
🙂
It’s also a new month. So feel free to click the link below and vote for us on Topwebcomics.
And also…another reminder. There’s still some Chapter One pages for sale.
I found a collection of unsold originals (that’s one of a kind prints with no dialog) while cleaning the other day.
So I put them up for sale at only $10 each!
That’s 80% off of the regular price of originals.
So if you’d like to pick up your favorite before they’re gone…go here to start browsing…
http://thedreamlandchronicles.com/category/the-dreamland-chronicles/chapter-01/
Find the page you want and click on it. Then go to the bottom navigation and click BUY PRINT.
The rest is pretty self explanatory.
I’m going to put some Chapter Two pages up this week too.
Scott
First one to post? yes.
Alex, you go to war every day with your sheets. You fight those terrible covers every morning to finally get out of bed. It’s about time you put that experience to good use. Stay in Dreamland just a little longer and kick some dragon tail:)
Well, Some advice for Alex on war- Pointy end goes in the dragon.
Nothing. You better be a quick study.
Just one question: How far can you amp your speed or coverage?
“All is fair in love and war”. My favorite quote concerning war. However, I have to say..that I agree with the idea of “pointy end goes in the dragon”. The problem is getting there. Since they are going to be seen as traitors, they can’t just walk right into the throne room and challenge Nic. I say tunnel underground!
Um, I’m seeing the same comic for 1141 and 1142. Did yesterday’s get uploaded for today, or did we lose yesterday’s comic?
I don’t know about you, but in my dreams I EXCEL in war. I never die and I always take down the most formidable foes in the most spectacular scenes.
But poor Alex is in dreamland so it will be a little more complicated for him.
On a side note: I love seeing his inner turmoil. Now that we learnt Nics, time for Alex to evolve likewise.
Alex: “Okay. First we need a command center.”
Nastajia: “The ruins of Ashendel. He won’t suspect anyone hiding out there.”
Alex: “Great. Then we need SCV’s to harvest mineral…”
Nastajia: “Wait, what?”
Paddington: “‘Harvest mineral?’ Is this some slang term for recruiting rock giants? My people are pacifists!”
Alex: “…next we need a barracks with a tech reactor and start training marines and medics.”
Felicity: “Mar…I’m pretty sure the merfolk are useless on land!”
Kiwi: “Is he all right?”
Alex: “We have to do this and scramble up the tech tree pretty fast to build the best forces we can…”
Nastajia: “Tech tree? I’m not sure what that is but I’m pretty sure Nicodemus burned that one down.”
At least Alex realizes he is so not ready for this particular part of the journey… although when he says “But.. I’m, I’m no King Arthur” all I could think of was the 1988 VP debate and Senator Lloyd Bensten saying “Senator, you are no John Kennedy.’ Don’t ask me why it just kind of popped in there. heh.
1141 and 1142 appear to be the same…it looks like the dialogue from yesterdays comic has been edited and posted twice. I like the change in the Sword’s statement.
fixed…thanks
WOrdpress/Comicpress bug.
Fixed it.
Liking the composition of the first panel – makes Alex look small and therefore emphasizes his burden…
LOL That picture and your comment goes pretty well together to give the impression of a smug Alex XD
He has plenty of advisors: Dan, Nicole, Nastajia, Felicity, like all good kings, so he should be good to go.
I liked Alex’s response, seems genuine to me, well done. And how about them eyebrows, he’s got that one ‘brow up vulcan thing going on, lol!
Also, we’re up to #7 in the voting, keep it up. And remember, it’s one vote per day ‘per device’ so get out those cell phones!
Unless this is a Melee match and not a Campaign, in which case the Medics aren’t an option at all.
Alex: “And we need more Vespene Gas.”
Orion: “… I’m on it.”
Well he does have some of the best advisors with him. One being a princess, trained to rule and take over after her parents pass on. Centaurs have always been portrayed as excellent scholars and war tacticians. And who better knows how to sneak up on someone and take them by surprise, especially someone who has knowledge of the enemy’s lair and its strengths and weaknesses.
In my dreams, I don’t just EXCEL in war, I POWERPOINT in war!
[crickets]
Okay, I suppose that was a lot funnier in my geek brain …
😉
At least Alex realizes how serious war is. I don’t know if I could bear having so many deaths on my conscious.
Bwahahaha!!! 😀 I’m a cubicle monkey. I get it. 🙂
Oh, jeez…Alexander’s making this decision?…we’re all doomed!
Fair, perhaps. Wise? Not all.
I have searched the last seven pages for any sign of Kiwi. She is not visible. Where is she??
She’s there. Just so tiny…you usually don’t see her.
I spend most of my worklife in one of those, so yes, ROTFLOL (as cube neighbors stare in wonder).
Alex: “Whoa! Orion, ya gotta lay off the broccoli and cabbage!”
She’s there! She just had the bad luck to be behind the word bubbles every time the frame rendered!
It sure worked the first time XD
Just hit the sucker with a bunch of Mohawk Grenades! That ought to embarrass the fool.
AUGH the future of dreamland is in his hands…? scarey thought.
unless he matures a bit… no one can’t say he’s a bit immature
Ok, right about now we should see Dan fending off wraths in the real world. I can just imagine him busting one of them over the head with an impromptu weapon (an umbrella perhaps).
I too like the reaction of Alex – so far. If it just descends into angsty whining, well it’s time he started outgrowing it.
But admitting you need help right up front? Alex may be a ways from wise yet, but he’s off to a good start if he’s able to do that and not be diminished by it.
Besides, I’ve a feeling that just gearing up to fight a war isn’t going to be enough by itself. The strategy he’ll need will have to be deeper and broader than that.
I still can’t see a war. The Elves and Alex together don’t have enough resources to take on all of Dreamland. They might pick up some allies, I’m thinking those feisty Dwarves. IMNSHO that’s still not enough, and His Royal Highness King Nick is still the ruler of Dreamland. Can’t wait to see how Alex is going to get out of this one.
As long as you don’t LOTUS (123) at war…
Poor Alex, he’s just had all the weight he’s been barely keeping up dumped on him in a heap. I hope he does alright….
Re-rendering a panel.
Gonna be tomorrow morning when I can put the page up.
Sorry for the delay, all!
How DARE you! 😉
Seriously, no need to apologize. 🙂
Isn’t this ironic?
Scott gets a computer that is 100x faster than the one he started the comic with, but the graphics programs require at least 200x the number of calculations to render today’s more complicated and detailed models and scenes.
Zero-sum game, my friend!
if brute force isn’t working, you need mor!
Also remember kiddies, there is no such thing as overkill, there is only “Open fire” and “reload”
No, but you can still put in some medevac units.
Well there is one more race we haven’t seen, and that’s the elusive “Guardians.”
True. The faster the computers get…the more I throw at them, I guess.
It’s all of the leaves in the scene. And all of the raytracing calculations for the shadows.
(Rule 37)
😉
Don’t forget plenty of bunkers and turrets for base defense!
😉
“War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again, y’all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
Ohhh, war, I despise
Because it means destruction
Of innocent lives
War means tears
To thousands of mothers eyes
When their sons go to fight
And lose their lives
I said, war, huh
Good God, y’all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain’t nothing
But a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Ooooh, war
It’s an enemy to all mankind
The point of war blows my mind
War has caused unrest
Within the younger generation
Induction then destruction
Who wants to die
Aaaaah, war-huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it, say it, say it
War, huh
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War, huh, yeah
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y’all
War, huh, good God
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War, it’s got one friend
That’s the undertaker
Ooooh, war, has shattered
Many a young mans dreams
Made him disabled, bitter and mean
Life is much to short and precious
To spend fighting wars these days
War can’t give life
It can only take it away
Ooooh, war, huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Say it again
War, whoa, Lord
What is it good for
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me
War, it ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
War, friend only to the undertaker
Peace, love and understanding
Tell me, is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there’s got to be a better way
Ooooooh, war, huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
You tell me
Say it, say it, say it, say it
War, huh
Good God y’all
What is it good for
Stand up and shout it
Nothing”
– Edwin Starr
(I’m quite certain that at least one other person here besides me has had this song stuck in their head for the last day or three … )
SILENCE!!
You are correct :p
Can you think of a better way for Scott to fill the next 9 chapters?
