AMG this is 10 kinds of awesome
And ten kinds of things that can go wrong…
Should we list the awesomeness and the things that can go wrong? lol
Just curious… What has happened to the inscriptions on the altar that were present in chapter 1? They are not visible now. Perhaps they were magical inscriptions that only appeared to Alexander?
the magic of the sword slowly over the time between arthur and Alex, imbued the stone, causing the very fabric of the magical weave to appear written in runes mystically linked to the aether of both the waking and dreaming worlds, making the stone itself a sort of beacon to those for whom the sword is intended 😛
ok, i made all that up, but it sounded good! 🙂
Well or horrible, it could go either way. This could be why “Arther not dying but not here” make sense if he was trapped in a place between the earth and Dreamland because the amulet didn’t work.
“Arthur” I fail to check my spelling once again :(.
Arthur closes his eyes, but cannot find his sleep, troubled by the consequences of the ritual. A groan makes him open one eye to check his surroundings. He sees Orion leaning over the tombstone.
Arthur: “Orion, I’m not quite asleep yet.”
Orion: “Oh hey Arthur…. hehe… ehm, it’s not what it looks like.”
Arthur: “It looks like you are pulling the sword out, trying to steal my precioussss!”
Orion: “I need to look up the word relinquish then. My bad! Some of us have other native languages you know.”
Arthur: “No excuses! Write something original on this tombstone as punishment. And it better be done when I return!”
And that’s how the tombstone got engraved.
ya, i think that’s how it went:p
It seems that the glove of Arthur is made from liquid metal.
Or it is the first step towards the “sleeping phase” like Neo was merging with the mirror after taking The Pill?
Nah, that’s just his shiny gauntlet. You can see it in the first panel. But the shininess does look like his arm is becoming transparent and weirdly shiny, so it did confuse me at first too.
So when they fall asleep in dreamland…they wake up on Earth? Huh…so all Alex would need to do is bring Nastajia some vicodin via the medicine bag.
I’m guessing that the tomb was written by one of the races that created the Tablets but the knowledge of it’s location was lost when Nicodemus purged most of the ancient conspirators. Possibly the centaurs who don’t care much about the past and wouldn’t try to pass the knowledge down the generations.
Oh my… I’m in total agreement about the ten different things that can (and probably will!) go wrong…. O_o
And on a totally unrelated note.. Scott, just read a great article in the latest Country Living about Franklin, TN!! 😀 It sounds like such a sweet town, might just want to plan a visit. ;D
The inscription on the dais in the first chapter talked about the sword like it was already resting there when the inscription was written. I’m guessing that it wasn’t carved in the stone till after Arthur put it there and was unable to remove it himself due to Nicodemus’ reaction to him defying his wishes about bringing other adult humans to Dreamland.
brilliant! i love it when fans make up dialog for the scene at hand – keep up the good work, garwain!
p.s. scott, re: lighting, etc on recent pages, hadn’t noticed. i think the lighting looks great!
I don’t know how Arthur does this. I can never fall asleep under pressure.
I gotta lay off the Red Bull.
P.S. Lovin’ the suspense.
Why am I so worried the Earth amulet isn’t in his left hand? There’s been so much emphasis on it, I can’t help thinking that’s where this is going to go wrong.
Keep up the great work, Scott. I can’t wait to see where this goes.
did you switch out yesterday’s bottom panel to today? i looked back and don’t remember that bottom panel, but today’s, i could have sworn i saw that yesterday…
am i losing it?
wait, if this amulet works will Dreamlanders be able to use it to get to Earth, or can it only be used to bring humans to Dreamland?
Yikes. 10 kinds of stupid, if you ask me…
I hope Friday doesn’t have a cliffhanger. I am very anxious to see what will happen.
I think it yesterday’s old bottom panel. I recognize it too.
Arthur, of legend, was a very important king. he was a very busy BUSY man. There was always some threat he was facing, weather out side Camelot, or within. Being the bearer of Excalibur would be a weight, even if it was a welcome one. It makes perfect sense to me that at this point, he has slumped down into this position, and looks racked with exhaustion. That and the nerves about what he is going to do. I can totally believe that he can sleep right now. it may even be a moment of respite that he does not get very often.
Hmmmm… I seem to remember a wraith ghosting around in the awake world. It makes me wonder if that amulet is still in Arthur’s left hand…
Shiny reflective gauntlet in dark room yields a hand which is very difficult to see clearly. I can’t even tell if it’s his right or his left in most scenes.
I can never fall asleep under pressure.
That’s why we ain’t no Kings o’ Dreamland, pardner 🙂
Yes. Good catch.
I accidently (I’m so scatter-brained right now) put the wrong bottom panel on yesterday’s page. So it was fixed when I uploaded today’s page and also added the original dialog.
Donna has that issue! I heard it’s a great read.
You need to come and check out Franklin for yourself.
🙂
I just looked back to where he had the Earth half of the amulet (because I’m pretty sure I’ve seen that last panel before, too) to see if he was in that pose before. I didn’t find it, (more’s the mystery and magic of how Scott gets it all done!) but what I DID notice was that Arthur always seems to have the Earth half of the amulet in his RIGHT hand… Hopefully, he moved it to his left hand before going to sleep…
Unfortunately, it strikes me as very possible that he mixed up which hand he was supposed to have it in, and told the centaur the wrong hand… Definitely on the list of 10 things that could go wrong!
oh! ok, so that’s why the left hand is significant XD
OK whew!
for a second i thought the deja-vu meant the Matrix had gone all wonky again 😀
Finally caught up after 3 days! This is sooooo long, but worth it!
Lovin’ every page !
Why do i get the strange feeling the next stop is Avalon?

Welcome!

Hey all!
I have to finish up an animation tonight. So I will NOT be updating tomorrow.
So very sorry. But this “no buffer thing” really sucks.
I will DEFINITELY have a page for you on Friday.
If all goes wrong, all hell will break loose.
If all goes poorly, nothing will happen.
If all goes mildly okay, we’ll get parfaits!
If all goes crazy, this thing will combine into a giant radish.
*Centaur secretly hopes for mildly okay as he’d actually prefer parfaits.*
scott the hand on arthur looks like liquid metal not armor at all i dont know if the render messed up but looks like he just be came liquid terminator
Hello everyone! Hello Scott!
I just wanted to say that I love love love this comic! It is great!
My first comment, Yay!
Oh, and I want to ask something:
Why do the colors of Arthurs beard change in the different worlds?
In Dreamland the front of Arthurs beard is black and the sides are white.
In “Awakeworld” the front is white and the sides are black.
I checked the comments if the answer was already given, but I couldn’t find anything.
Good luck! And take all the time you need for it – we eould really like to see the movie thing coming!
And we’ll be back on Friday, as usual!
Well, I’m glad I’ve been too busy to read this week, and I had to catch up today. I won’t have to wait an extra day for tomorrow’s page.
I can’t wait! This is gettin’ gooood
Welcome to Dreamlands. Please check reality at the door. 😀
I’ve noticed (or just noticed) there is text on the stone holding the sword. Seems this wasn’t there before if I remember correctly.
Anyway, it is missing in the 5th cell of this page. Is it because of the radical angle of view or just an oversight?
thanks, bobbi
u dont like then dont read
