and the plot thickens… 😀
much like drying mud, but then, it seems to me that scott is good at that (and yes scott, thats a good thing)
Sometimes change is a great thing. Where would we be now if Aristotle, Galileo, or Einstein had never forced their change on the people?
Ooo! Who’s noticed that Dreamland is now #10???
http://topwebcomics.com/
Don’t do it, Pike!
I mean, Nick! D=
Still a preety reasonable request, actually.
A pity that those lizards looks so dark – it gives the feeling that something might turn ugly 🙂
What? Back to Camelot? Will there be lizards there?
And thus begins the path to darkness it seems….
This should be a TV show. WANT.
I have a feeling that a few people are going to have nightmares very soon… XD
On second thought, let’s not go to Camelot. It is a silly place.
Cloaked Lizard Thing: “If we can learn more of his plans…perhaps we could log onto Earth. Then we can gold farm and duplicate items from there for the noobs here!”
Nic may know more of Arthur’s plans, but it should still be up to Nic what he’d do about it, without being influenced by those of the Nightmare Realm 🙁
Want to go to Dreamland? Or at least, try having dreams of your own you can control? There’s an article in New Scientist this week online that has a lot on some new research about dreaming – AND how to have lucid dreams, where the dreamer can begin to take control of what’s happening. Here’s the URL for the article.

Here’s the first two paragraphs from15 June 2010 by Jessica Hamzelou:
Enjoy!
Oooo…thanks for reminding me to vote! 🙂
Spying on your monarch because Captain Sleazeball has asked in such a way that didn’t set off your alarm bells is reasonable? I actually view this as the real place Nic has gone wrong (though to be honest I didn’t like the calling of a secret anti-humans meeting). He should have walked away.
I’ve understood your perspective on not being a sycophant or overly trusting, but part of what makes a good relationship (and that includes advisor-advisee relationships in my book) is TRUST. I think that Arthur did abuse that trust by not being open with Nic about the work and research he did with the centaurs, but in his defense, he didn’t realize the magnitude of the issue due to poor communication from Nic. Nic is abusing Arthur’s trust by having this secret meeting, and now he’s about to go too far…right about when Arthur does it seems (assuming that Arthur’s comment about taking action wasn’t referring to his intention to have a serious chat with Nic about the problems he’s facing).
Unfortunately, I find I have to admit that neither one of them has treated the other fairly and in such a way as to promote a positive end to their story. Arthur was too idealistic and ruled by the negative events of the real world, and Nic was too negative about his king’s ideas and influenced by the slippery logic of the wraiths.
I still don’t get why Nic and everybody else is so convinced Arthur is going to import other humans into Dreamland. He never said anything of the sort in his presentation, he was just talking about communication. Did I miss something? (maybe a later edit?)
The whole purpose of this was so that Arthur could bring OTHER humans. His enemies actually. To Dreamland.
Arthur feels if he SHOWS them Dreamland…they’d understand Camelot.
This would end the wars and bickering on Earth.
The thought plickens?
😉
Indeed.
Here’s the direct link for the unusually lazy amongst us (don’t worry, I count myself in that corner!):

A good way to take control of your sleeping dreams is to practice day dreaming. At least that has worked for me. Create a dream personna and become it and put it in either outragous situations and even normal mundane situations. The more you practice the more you can easily become this in the sleeping dreams. Just try not to day dream while driving or working. 🙂
YOU are thanking US?!?!?!
I think that’s BACKWARDS …. we should be thanking you ….EVERY DAY!
so, Thanks!
no, but there will be a majestic moose.
I am SO ready for the current storyline to return to Dreamland Chronicles! This flashback side plot is not as engrossing as the present.
lucid dreaming is the BEST.
there are those who disagree and say you should just let your dreams play out, but as for me, when i am able to control my dreams, i feel more rested and confident the next day. just think about it, you are in a world your mind has created–a world under your control. you can fly, breathe water, get away from a scarey situation, take control of the scarey situation…you can do ANYTHING.
however it is mighty tricky. first off, realizing you are in a dream, then how do you actually control it (it’s harder than you’d think), then being in the dream long enough to enjoy it.
i’ve found once i realize i’m in a dream, i have very little time before i wake up:(
Now for something completely different…
Any idea when Book 4 will be available for purchase? I want to buy 3 & 4 as soon as 4 is ready.
Gordon
So the dragon (even then) had closer ties with the nightmare realm than he let on. Further, he seemed (even then) very much at home with their methods, even though he didn’t always agree with them. Yet, it still seems that the only disagreement he has had, could be said that he just didn’t consider it a smart move.
Nic’s bigotry toward the human race is very typical on all sides. Even his supposed good will toward Arthur is like, “We don’t like humans but you’re okay Arthur, ’cause you’re one of the few good ones.” That’s incredibly insulting to any people! Yet, the biggest enemy to bigotry is exposure to the very people we’re prejudiced against. It is then we find that we are more alike than we are different.
Could that be part of the real reason he doesn’t want more humans in dreamland?
Book Four has been at IDW for months. They won’t return my calls. I have no idea what’s going on.
the plot beings to tick like a clock.
very nice scott page
Too bad Arther doesn’t see the way humans work. Some people might change, but evil people will stay evil if they want too and will just use Dreamland in their own greedy ways, bringing bad upon Earth and Dreamland. Kinda a back firing move, really.
I can’t wait to see what happens next! 😀
None of those actually forced their changes on others. They just pointed out what they saw and what it meant. Now Julius Caesar, Charlemagne, Napoleon, FDRoosevelt, Hitler and Stalin and others did force change on the world–often with a need to act, true, but change nonetheless.
You know, a moose bit my sister once.
Scott is working on it–or maybe a movie.
Lucid dreams are great. The best time to fly in your dreams…
Nicodemus reminds me of Brutus in Julius Caesar, how he went along with the rest of the senate because he became convinced that it was truly for the best. Like Julius Caesar I doubt this will have a happy ending.
Not a good sign, as I’m sure you know. I hope your agent made sure there was some clause in your agreement with them to let you withdraw the book if they fail to live up to their end of the arrangement. Good luck with whatever happens, because you do have people waiting for that book.
No realli! She was Karving her initials on the møøse with the sharpened end of an interspace tøøthbrush given her by Svenge – her brother-in-law – an Oslo dentist and star of many Norwegian møvies: “The Høt Hands of an Oslo Dentist”, “Fillings of Passion”, “The Huge Mølars of Horst Nordfink”.
That has the distinct feel of how newspapers buy a comic strip for the purpose of witholding it from public viewing (legal censorship that many comic strip writers don’t know about).
The Bahta is kind of a poor example though. It is one of those things that are not really known about until they are in your face. Nic knew what Arthur was doing and did not know the Bahta was real and functional until it was exposed. The lollypop guild of Nic’s cousins there would have had as much knowledge of the Bahta as anyone else.
Though I have to admit, I can’t figure out how bringing anyone to Dreamland would effect the waking world’s politics. Come! I will show you what to your mind will probably be a bad drug trip where things pretty unrelated to what is going on with us will happen! Even if they could draw a parallel, the wants and desires of humans might well trump the example. I simply can’t see why you would jeopardize the entirety of dreamland on the really fleeting chance of convincing some other guy to be peaceful for an anomalous reason.
Also, is Dreamland both the world and the area? Or are dreamland and the nightmare realm like countries/regions? The World of Nod? I just saw where my mind was going and I called myself naughty, I will shut up now.
For some reason TWC yanked Dragon Heroes from their list. If it weren’t for that The Dreamland Chronicles would still be #11. So come on folks, vote early and vote often!
Mynd you, møøse bites Kan be pretty nasti…
Thanks for the reply! Yeah, I think I get that — and it makes sense — I just didn’t think he actually said that aloud so far. Unless I missed it of course!
Indubitably…
Damn, it’s sad seeing Nic being manipulated.
wow… It’s interesting to see the past.
Nic used to be kinda good and junk.
The sad part is they’re acting on fear and stuff.
You’ve all been sacked.
