I do like how the rock giants look like they come from different kinds of minerals/stones. Different colors and textures.

I assume that Alex has been more than a bit startled. I am sure he wouldn’t be the only one to be alarmed if he woke up to see five rock creatures standing over him, even if he has seen Paddington before. 😀

I love this comic. I read this from the beginning since 2005. Pretty long I must say. The comic so far is awesome, except when you have the pages that are called How Dreamland was made or something like that. I am in China so I am in a different time zone.
Rock Giant 1: “Well…I’ll be…it’s that letter opener I made in High School!”
Rock Giant 2: “Yeah…didn’t you get a little too carried away with it, though?”
Assuming that these rock giants are there for quite a long time (it was night when Alex woke up and now its morning) how didn’t they noticed before the Sword? (assuming that they want to give it to Alex)
*Imagines Alex having to follow a rock giant around for a few days waiting to “retrieve” the sword* LMAO! ^.^

As a side note from someone who uses the RSS feed, please don’t tell us what happens in the strip in your blog/comment. It kinda ruins it… like today, I already knew Alex was back in Dreamland and looking at rock giants from yesterday. Your comment gives away the only thing that happens in this low-content strip… why even click?

For me, at least, you could give a complete running commentary describing every pane in detail, and I would still click the link in my RSS feed to see the pictures. Heck, I’d probably be more inclined to do so, if that were possible, because of being tantalized by the descriptions …

yes grumpy is being grumpy, but to be honest, I don’t look at the feed anymore because of that same reason. you get the top half of commentary and no image, so in a case like today the punchline gets ruined. Personally I hate spoilers and for the most part I dislike move trailers because often times they reveal too much! so I totally empathize with Grumpy.
Grumpy, with all that said, now you know to see the comic first before you open the feed! live an learn 😛

Scott, I had a issue with the website… I didn’t see a email for the webmaster (at least to keep this junk off the forum) not a problem, more of an inconvenience. is there a way you can keep the extra features in the extra area while scrolling through the archive? so the last page of chapter 14 goes directly to page one of chapter 15 and visa versa? While I love seeing the extra stuff you post between chapters, in the archive it doesn’t flow.

I use Google Reader so I don’t actually look at the feed most of the time, I just visit all of the pages with the next button. Some of the comics I follow have the image in the feed but I would think that might reduce your page views. Others don’t have anything but a link in the feed so no one would be able to see the comments first. Not sure what it takes to change what the feed displays when it updates.

Ents don’t go to war either, but they happily went after Saruman and Isengard because their forest was burned. Paddington was clearly jumping in the way of Nastajia so he hopefully recieved the flames. Surely the rock giants would be moved to fight to protect one of their own.
Some of those are mine, actually…multiple personas, that is.
I have the vague inkling that the rock-giants know very well what the sword is, what it stands for. The fact that they usually do not mingle with a lot of Dreamland doesn’t mean they are oblivious to the turmoil around them. The just never considered it important enough, until now, with a usurper and a true heir slugging it out ,more or less….

Hmm… do rock giants bleed? After all, we’ve seen the sword cut through rock and bricks, and there is no “handle with care” label on it… Granted, I presume they are intelligent enough to not play with it willy nilly, but should they ever touch the blade, to see how sharp it is…

I’m not terribly fond of the back cover… it’s mostly me being critical from a print designer’s background, though. It’s not that bad, really… but I think it could be better. That said, I don’t have pictures of the first 3 books full spreads to compare their design elements. (I really need to get the first 3 books in print.) The graphic is great, but the text layout is a bit disjointed.
Gah… sorry, I’m just rambling now. Don’t mind me too much, it’s just my opinion 😀

Thanks for considering a change =] I do appreciate the art, don’t get me wrong, but I also hate spoilers. I don’t even go to movie theaters anymore; I use Netflix and never watch the previews! I also use Google Reader (as a widget on igoogle), but the other comics I read put the comic in the feed, so I only have to go to the webpage for this one. I can’t seem to remember to go straight to the page…

It is a way of getting notified about updates to web pages. So every time a new page shows up it reminds people to check the site.
you could always just make a new folder in your faves in your internet browser and name it comics then just put all the ones u read there, its what i do, and you dont get any spoilers. first thing i do is read email then this is the first comic i read.
