Much needed vacation…
Hey you guys!
Well I did it. I finally took a break.
As I’m writing you…I’m sitting by the beach in Seaside, Florida.
It’s a beautiful town on the gulf where they filmed the Truman Show.
I was so burnt out and needed a break and I was told this would be just the place to do it.
This morning at 6am…we all jumped into the minivan and drove 8 hours through Alabama and into Florida.
For the next 4 days I’m doing nothing but playing with my kids on the beach and eating ice cream.

I’ve found internet access at the local book store. So I’ll keep uploading pages.
If for any reason a page doesn’t show…it means the connection went away.
But I’ll do my darndest not to let my vacation ruin your Dreamland fun.

You should also consider doing a “dead day” like Megatokyo. We wouldn’t mind. =)
Scott, we love your comic, but seriously- I think you missed the point of a break. The following two statements illustrate this dichotomy:
“For the next 4 days I’m doing nothing but playing with my kids on the beach and eating ice cream.
I’ve found internet access at the local book store. So I’ll keep uploading pages.”
Stick with that first bit. Don’t worry about the second.
‘Kids & Ice cream’ = good.
‘Un-break-like activities’ = not good.

Have a nice vacation. I must admit sitting on beaches is not my favourite pasttime. Too much sand.
I hope you enjoy your vacation! There is nothing like a vacation if you’re having a burnout to get a bit of your energy back.
And if you don’t manage to update, that’s ok. Maybe it’s better if you take a break from your work at some point.

Don`t feel guilty if you miss an update. We wouldn`t mind if you took 4 days off. Enough allready said about this, so I`m going to shut up now. 🙂

Like others have managed to say before me (curse my timing, haha!), you’re on vacation, man! I’m sure none of us would mind at all if you didn’t upload during that time. Don’t stress yourself about trying to stop from your fun times just to go and upload a page. Take care of yourself and your family, and have some fun!

Thanks for the great comics. Love ’em. Hope your vacation is wonderful, Seaside is a great place. I’m headin’ to Destin in a few months, so I know how beautiful it is down there.

agreed – we do love the daily pages but we’ll live without them for a few days – enjoy your vacation with your wife & kids and forget about us and the internet for a moment!

Enjoy your vacation! As much as it pains me to say it, I agree with the others – we will live if you go on a dead week and leave us until next week. I’m so glad you are spending time with your family.
Others have said it before me: vacation means you *don’t* worry about your deadlines and things that keep your attention when you’re not on vacation. You won’t lose your readers just because you take a vacation from the comic as well as everything else. We trust you to come back. 😉

by the way, is this interlude with daniel and nicole foreshadowing romance? i think these two are becoming interested in each other through intellectual stimulation, a first spark of something at least!
I’m not sure they would get along as a romantic couple, based on the interactions we’ve seen so far. When I first saw the characters I thought they might fall in love, but now I’ve gotten the feeling they’re just meant to be scientific friends.
As others have posted, don’t worry about the comic and have fun! I am actually surprised you don’t have a “time posted” script so that you don’t have to worry about uploading the pictures everyday. There are some that can block direct access to the pictures (changing the permission property) so that they won’t be spoiled (but who here would want to do that anyways!).
Either way, enjoy your well deserved time off. I don’t care if you enjoy loading them while you are on vacation, enjoy the vacation more!!!
Glad to hear you’re having a good time with your family – it’s the kind of thing you can’t buy, can’t replace, can’t find a substitute for. Make some good memories. You never know when you’ll need them later.

Welcome to Florida. You picked a fine spot here on the Gulf Coast. If you realy like the Truman Show the bridge over Deer Point Dam was the unfinished bridge. Enjoy your stay.
