Updates and such…
Hey all…
Well…we’re back in the “real world” again.
Just wanted to update you on things going on.
I’ve got about 2 weeks left of work on Chapter 11 (this chapter).
That will take me to June 5th for pages.
I’ll take a short break to write my next book (The Luckiest Boy) and then start work on Chapter 12.
Chapter 12 concludes book 3.
As for Book 3.
The news…that apparently I never posted here…is that Blue Dream Studios (My company) is now an Imprint of IDW.
This is a really great thing.
I was never big enough to do any real sales. I have no marketing budget…and no sales person.
It’s just me and my wife.
But now that I’m working with IDW…they’re taking over the publishing and they have a great sales team and they’ll be doing all the marketing.
On top of that…they’re really well respected and making a big push in the book industry.
So…back to Book 3.
I was going to have it for Comic Con in July.
But due to the scheduling and such…Book 3 won’t be available until January 2009.
But…the good news is…the figures are coming along really well.
Here’s how Alexander’s looking.
and the Paddington Plush is ready too.
π
Hm…let’s see…what else…
Oh…
And Greg finally sat still for a photo.
HOpefully you all remember our mailman who lost his house.
He wanted to thank you allΒ for your generosity the other week helping him out.
So…from Greg….Thank you all!
Other than that…
I want to thank all of you who have been supporting me in so many ways.
Purchasing books from the store (I do read all of your comments…and thank you all for the kind words and your support)
Downloading the WOwio books
Ordering from Amazon
Sending me emails of encouragement.
Frequenting the forums
Posting here on the blog
Telling your family and friends.
Linking me.
And so much more.
Thank you all.
I hope you have a great week and enjoy the upcoming pages.
Scott
Wow Scott – that’s all great news (except for having to wait till January ’09 for the Volume 3). The Paddington plushie looks pretty good in this iteration, and so does Alexander. (I assume Felicity is finalized?)
I hope the IDW deal truly works out; considering the resources you’ve had available up til now, it looks like you haven’t been doing too badly.
Keep up the good work!
IDW are pretty solid! Congrats and well done to you & your team, Scott! Hope it works out well for you π
The figure and plushie both look great! I can’t wait to buy them. You have to keep bugging Wowio to open up their services to Canada so I can give you more money that way too. π
Your sense of professionalism always impresses me. The toys are top-notch quality and I love both Paddington and Alex. Thanks for maintaining such high standards of quality on all you products. =D
Wow, congrats! That is great news.
I am so excited about Paddington– he is adorable!
paddington does look great! i am wondering about the meaning of this post, though, scott…are you saying there will be a brief hiatus of web pages as you catch up and work on the other project? this is entirely reasonable if it is the case, but i’m just not clear on your message.
who would be doing the film version anyway? i wish pixar would do it – or pixar for disney – even better! i don’t see how pixar could have seen this website and not commented.
I’ve got a question (Not DLC-related, sorry), but will there be more Gary the Pirate books? I have both so far and I’m madly in love with them.
And congrats on everything!
Thank you guys so much.
To answer a few questions…
Michelle…
I hope I do not have to take a hiatus. Ever.
So no. That’s not what i meant. I am continuing the webcomic.
As for the film…I have no idea IF there will be a film.
Just that there is “interest”.
That’s all I can say…sorry.
Shelley…
Yes. There’s much more Gary the PIrate to come.
It’s slated to be about 120 pages I think. So maybe 3 more issues up on Wowio.
Awesome news.
But, when you are big and famous and selling millions of copies, can you try not to change the format of the books before us loyal fans can collect a complete set? I hate when that happens.
good call, stephanie! thanks for responding, scott. dreamland’s been pretty high on twc lately…now just imagine if your html friend figures out a way to make the voting buttons more prominent while still maximizing your primary advertising spaces…
take a look what multiplex did – if this comment doesn’t go live i don’t mind – click on the ‘support multiplex’ for an idea

of course, keeping the vote incentives fresh seems to make a big difference too – but that html trick seems perfect for you…for keeping the voting at the top.
Scott, what was the name of that webcomic with the skeleton wearing sunglasses? I forgot =)

That’s it, thanks a lot!
Wow. I think it’s just amazing you’ve done so many pages already!
Love the Paddington plush. The rocky texture looks really neat. π And the figurine’s looking really nice so far.
Nice to see a pic of Greg as well. π
All the best, and congratulations on the IDW deal. π
π―
Who made these models? You? How? They are AMAZING if they are hand made!
Or did you just send sketches to some company, and they barfed out THIS? Still amazing!
Hey Bezman…
It’s Gensen Figures.
They did the first ones too (Kiwi and Nastajia)
They’re hand sculpted. No computers.
π
Sorry this isn’t about downloadable content, but will there be any more Gary the Pirate novels? So far, I’ve got both, and I love them both equally.
