The Making of Dreamland Chapter 2 is up…
Hey guys n’ gals…
Writing this to you from our hotel room. But thought it too fun to wait until next week.
Book two of the Making of Dreamland series is up. And I gotta say. I think I did MUCH better than the first.
This one’s about facial expressions. How we make ’em. THe different ways the different characters are set up. How we do that, etc.
And for those of you who can’t get the Wowio books yet (hopefully your time will come VERY soon)…
Here’s a couple samples.
As always…there’s over 70 books on WOwio that we have.
That means each of you can download (for free) over 70 of our books…and each download helps support us and our daily updates.
So hope you like this…and hope I can continue to do these.
🙂
Now…I’ve gotta get me some sleep.
See ya
I just have to mention, both of those sample URLs are the same. D:
It’s really cool to see how the modeling works. I did a bit of 3D modeling in college, but to do something that complex… it’s amazing! It just seems so magical when everything comes together.
Thanks Jammer…
I fixed the link so you can see the other one.
As for everything coming together…yeah.
It is pretty magical.
🙂
I’m so blessed to have been able to work with such talented artists who help bring Dreamland to life.
Nice progression up to this point–my favorite of webcomics!! Altho’ I thought some of the crew could fly…?
It’s really cool to be able to get a glimpse at how you make the characters come alive, shape their expressions and express their personalities. Thanks for the look behind the scenes, Scott.
I have to say the effect is even more impressive when you put it all together in an animated sequence, like the ones you have of Felicity, Nastajia, and Kiwi on the TDC home page.
Really enjoying the webcomic. It’s one I saw 1+ years ago, then forgot about, and just spent 1/2 my day reading whilst doing work activities.
Really enjoying the characterizations and everything. I’m going to have to download some of the animated Wowio books tomorrow. Hoping downloading (and clicking the smiley faces) does indeed drive some revenue your way. Of course, I also need to check out the store…
Thanks for brightening my day.
– Chad.
And lo, did Kiwi apply pressure to the rock giant’s butt…
Wow Scott! I LOVE this one and the little videos you added are awesome to watch! I love learning what I can about this 3D rendering you do. And my goodness… I had no idea you had to do ALL of that just for one expression, let alone could blend many expressions to get a different look. I don’t think I want to do 3D rendering now lol
Of course, you’re using a high end program… probably like Maya or the like. God power like programs lol.
See ya on the board!
Jon
Alex: “Uh…guys, do we have a stinger missile or a CIWS on hand?”
