A post from the missus…
My wife posted a reply in yesterday’s post about the cow….
I thought I’d put it up as an actual post since she’s never actually posted on the blog before…
Hi All!
I hardly (If ever) post here…I mostly leave this to Scott…I just look at the pages every day! The cow was so cute though…I love the idea!
I just want to personally say THANK YOU to all of you out there who have made this comic what it is! It really is Scott’s passion to put this together for you all and it means so much that you are enjoying it and supporting him daily!
I will also let you know that every morning he wakes up (twinkle in eye) and goes downstairs (his office is on our basement) and to work on Dreamland! Every time I go down there to bring him food (or he won’t remember to eat…those crazy artist types) he has pages up on his (many) computers and is always rendering something! Even our 4 year olds know what rendering means…I mean what 4 year old knows this! Yikes!
It is killing him that he might have to take a break to regroup and get some additional pages done for you all! So please be patient with him! I have seen most of the story stuff (sorry…marital priveledges) and it is going to be awesome! I promise you won’t be disappointed! And I’m feeding him and occasionally giving him oxygen so he can continue to work as fast as is humanly possible!
I wish all of you a wonderful holiday season to you and your families!
The wife (a.k.a. Donna)
Thanks for keeping Scott whole in mind, body and spirit while he’s lost in his creative rush.
While I have enjoyed being spoiled by the 5 times per week posting schedule, this is the type of quality work that you don’t mind having to wait for updates, as long as you know that they’re going to be coming.
Needless to say we’d rather not have to wait, but most of us understand that artists are people with “real lives”â„¢, and somehow we manage with our withdrawal pains until things resume.
Thank you Mrs Sava, for feeding and watering the Hamster that keeps the Dreamland wheel turning.
Scott, if you need to take time off (to catch up or recharge your batteries) we’ll understand. We all love what you are doing and while the wait would be frustrating we would appreciate Dreamland all the more on its return.
Thanks again for all the hard work you have put in to bring us the best story on the net.
I’m glad that Scott has someone looking out for him, especially someone that knows him so well! 5 days a week is a huge commitment in online comics, and it’s one that still amazes me. Don’t feel bad about a break, or slowing down the releases. I’m more then willing to wait a little extra time as long as you promise to keep working on it.
Thank you Donna for making sure that Scott takes care of himself. 🙂
Scott, you can slow down the releases if you have to. It’s OK. There’s no comic out there that can replace Dreamland, in my opinion any way, and we will wait for you. Really.
You are so sweet and thank you for supporting your husband in his wonderful endeavor. Happy Holidays!
Thank you, Scott & Mrs :-D, for everything you both do to keep Dreamland up and running. I haven’t posted in a while, but have been reading faithfully and will continue to read faithfully even if the update schedule has to change. Five days a week is awesome, but not at the expense of sanity, health or most important marriage! heh. Being married to someone in a very demanding career as well, I can completely understand how you feel Mrs Sava!
Best Wishes for a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
Now that’s just too cute.
Don’t kill yourself over us over us Scott. We appreciate the hard work you put in, but seriously take a little time for the holidays too. I mean nobody is going to die if you went to a MWF format for a while, or even permanently.
Were all just extremely grateful you keep any kind of regular schedual at all, so what are we going to complain about?
Wow! dude. you’re so lucky to have such a loving wife to take care of you…it’s always nice to know someone cares for the artist!
i’m sure that we would all love to see a 5 day week worth of comics, but as others have mentioned, don’t do it if it kills you, a web comic that updates so frequently is ultra rare and the creator and writer is obviously ultra generous…
if you have to take a break, do so man! heck, take christmas to spend with the family! we’re not really even paying for this (those of us who can’t get your books for one reason or another), so the least we could do would be to give you a break.
Take care, nice to hear from the missus and well wishes to you both and the kids! Merry christmas! (say does santa come from dreamland?) happy new year!
P.S.
I meant christmas as one of many breaks you should take…as always, love the comic, and in response to your previous post, just keep working on it, i’m sure one day we’ll see dreamland movie posters for real! =D
Most webcomics I read have broken for Christmas with a back in January notice.
Take a break hehe, we’ll all still be here when you come back. 🙂
Scott has done such a great job over the last year I vote we give him the rest of the year off. From now until the New Year, we could have examples of fan art or some of Scott’s favourite scenes from Dreamland so far.
Anybody else with me?
(No, I’m not Scott secretly trying to get some time off.)
He could even throw a fanart contest… That’s an interactive way to take a break from updates. Ask for submissions for a week or two… upload them and let us vote!
But yeah, Rezzo, I’d be fine with him taking the rest of the year off. Even artists deserve to enjoy Christmas. 🙂
hehe I’ve always thought that Dan and Nicole will get together someday…that would be so funny! ;D
Thank you so much for supporting Scott! I am sure that without such a wonderful wife he would never be able to produce such an amazing story so full of love. You both are awesome and I really appreciate all your hard work!
I just got Book 2 in the mail today!!
Happiness! Yay!
Great sketch Scott!
Scott works so hard to get a daily comic up and running and we’re all pleased that someone can support him in his creative endeavors. And if he needs a break from time to time, I think he’s well and truly earned it.
I still haven’t taken my Nastajia figure out of the packaging yet…the sketch was sooooo cool…and I think we had a laugh at ComiCon 2007 about how Nastajia’s right hand is 90 degrees the wrong way…and I wondered how she could draw a bowstring like that. Either that or we were laughing about the latest motivator…”Hit Points: they’re always more finite than you think.”
Firstly, thank you Donna for sharing your husband with us. ^__^
Secondly, take a break Scott! Eat, sleep, see sunlight! If you’re concerned about how long your buffer will last, reduce to a MWF schedule. Your readers will still love you. <3
Thirdly, I just got my Nastajia and Kiwi figurines today and they are beautiful. Each of them got their own little happy dance. (>^_^)> (>^_^<) <(^_^<)
It’s so cool to hear from you, too, Mrs Ssava. 🙂
Anyway; yup, I’ll be patient -I appreciate all the time that you, Scott, and your kids spend helping to make the comic -sure, Scott’s in charge… but a family can be an enormous support. Can’t wait to seeing lots more of this wonderful comic as the story progresses. 😀
Hey Scott… your BlueDreamStudios URL seems to have been taken over by one of those dodgy domain-camping search sites 🙁
Yow. THanks Artsangel.
I’m on the phone with Hostway (my webhost) to find out what’s wrong.
Yikes.
What?! Take a break?!?! OMG! What will I do!!!! I mean every morning I hit my webcomic sites and Sat & Sun suck without Dreamland! Now you might change that?!?!?!
But seriously, I don’t know how you do it daily. It is one thing to come up with the story and sketch it. But then you go and render it in 3d, which I know takes a lot of time. It is amazing. If you need to change the schedule or take a break then do it, we will still be here. I promise. Perhaps a bit frenzied….
Oh, and Mrs. S. I have heard that those artsy (or geeky) types that spend all day in the basement really benefit from being taken for a walk at least 3 times a week in the sunshine. Just make sure to put plenty of sunblock on him and really dark sunglasses. 🙂
Have a great holidays!
Thank you Mrs. Sava for taking care of Scott! We all owe you!
And don’t feel bad about cutting your schedule back, Scott! I actually don’t have enough time to go on the net and check my webcomics everyday! 😀 I go on every few days. 😀 Seriously though, having three updates a week isn’t bad, you’ve been spoiling us with 5 a week.
Christmas is coming, so give yourself a present by spending some time with your family, you DESERVE a break!
Merry Christmas! and have a Happy New Year!
I have been using 2.0d for a couple weeks now and I have NOT seen a trace of this issue. My awake time hovers around 30% but that is just because I use Pandora and Ambling Book Player a LOT.Did you completely wipe before flashing the 2.0d ROM? If not I would recommend doing so.What Radio are you using? (This should matter per my testing from the last week but still valid inrAnmatiof.)ore you using AppsToSD?Do you get the issue at once or only after you have reloaded all of your applications?
No more s***. All posts of this quliaty from now on
that, let me reveal to you what did give good results. Your writing is actually pretty powerful and this is possibly why I am taking an effort in order to opine. I do not make it a regular habit of doing that. Second, despite the fact that I can certainly notice a jumps in reasoning you come up with, I am not really sure of how you seem to connect your points which in turn make the final result. For the moment I will, no doubt yield to your point however wish in the foreseeable future you connect your facts better.
