Happy Tuesday!
Well…it took me a couple of days…but I FINALLY got the second workstation up and running.
I’m just about ready for Chapter 18!
Now I just need to finish the script.
Yikes.

Thank you Felicity, for saying what we were all thinking.
okay, next one, have Paddington jump DOWN while it’s still below the second one. That way gravity works in his favor π Doesn’t solve the current problem, but assuming Paddington doesn’t do the world’s biggest cannonball, they’re set for the next one…
Don’t you just hate it when the strong character just can’t jump, and messes the level and you have to start all over again?
Why do I hear the music for Super Mario Brothers? Are there any tortoises to kick?
Live from TWC: we’re still #3 with 13,987 votes. #2 has 15,209.
Is it as scary as it looks? Not if you vote, fellow Dreamies. To mice!
Hm… Didn’t know there are upper limit for dream flight ability. At least I never encountered such a thing in my dreams. I had trouble with starting to fly, though, but then it “just works” with no limits.
I’m not sure bringing Paddington along on this adventure was a good idea. Might have been better for him to just mind the boat.
Finish the script? Details, details….
To chapter 18…
did you just say “Rock men can’t jump”?
I think, Scott, what they were going for is a “script schmipt β just give us more STOREHHHH π π :D” type of approach.
*nods*
sorry, that was supposed to be a reply to Month π
It’s 14,147 (us) to 15,316 (them) now! π
But I would not have wanted to see the sad face that gave him…I would have melted into a rather disgusting pile of “awwww” goo.
Here I thought the master of dance would be a bit lighter on his twinkle-toes. Guess he can’t always trip the light fantastic.
Ummmm… a little help? O.o
Maybe it’s an oxygen thing? No, wait…that would be the same problem with the islands. Maybe it’s a gravity thing?
Love how Paddington just spans the distance. He’s adorable. π
Um, I know there is an upper limit to flying, but it’s already been shown that they could fly equal to the rock they are on since it was equal to the flying ship and they could fly to the ship; so while they may not be able to fly higher up, shouldn’t Paddington still be able to fly at least on this first one?
When I was the dreamy kid, I could fly in outer space. So I don’t think either of those things should be a problem here.
Yeah, but they won’t be able to fly to some of the later ones, so Alex wants them to get used to jumping now. However, flying is not out of the question for getting Paddington out of this situation…poor Paddington…
Only with Kiwi’s help? Still, I agree: Paddington better get his moves on.
I wanna see dangerous tilting from Paddington. π
OH MY WORD YES
I do wonder though…how can Paddington possibly expect the rest of the Dreamland Team to be physically capable or helping him…?
Ack. I’m dense….duh.
Sorry
I’ve never really flown in my dreams so I wouldn’t know. π I only ever float or glide.
Or skip the light fandango either…
Ooo…Kiwi is a good solution…though she seemed to have trouble with Alex from time to time. I wonder if Paddington would max out her magic.
Alex can probably be super-strong now that he’s master dream-mechanics. IIRC, there was some discussion of this in the comic back when Alex’s cousin was visiting.
Now we know why Alex put in all that time lifting large boulders.
π
If nothig else Alex can do just a quick jump off to do a flight-catch of Paddington and get back on b4 they “fall”.
Poor Nastajia, face-planting into all that armor’s gotta hurt.
I see great potential for a minigame.. Hop the Sisters π
Still rendering some extra stuff…
See you in the morning…
Poor Paddington!! Be the first to jump DOWN next time hon! Make miss cat Felicity the last to jump across! She should be good at it!
TRINE!
He’ll have to move along the ledge until he’s hanging on the other side of the rock to do that, though π
Nonsense. Rockman can jump like a pro π
They are not thinking right.
Since they can fly at lower altitudes, all they need to do is follow the line of islands as they rise from the sea while loitering at lower level. Then, when the last one rises, simply land on it.
Or, as island starts to rise, freefall until they reach an altitude they can fly and simply fly over to the island.
Since they can fly, there is no real consequence of missing an island along the way unless they miss the last one. In games, if a character misses, the character usually dies. I see no threat of that here.
When I fly in dreams, I either get tangled up in things like power lines – which would be everywhere – or I could fly unhindered, but couldn’t go very fast. π
I dΓ³ have a ceiling to my dream-flying. I never mind. 30,000+ feet is rather boring anyways.
I always like low&slow. Tons to see. I have the ability to suddenly speed-up to impressive velocities though.
The only time when my dream-flying is rudderless floating, is when I am really tired before going to bed. I knΓ³w that in my dreams too. So, again, i do not mind. ( isn’t lucid dreaming the greatest fun?)
Which is quite telling afa dream-psychology (Jungian, If I recall correctly) goes.
You are setting limits to Yourself, even when the limits are removed, something deep inside holds You back.
If one is shy in real life, this kind of dreams are a materialization/visualization of, said, shyness.
What’s also important, is to try to realize in the dream-flying, if You are able to steer, despite the sedate pace of the flying. If not, then it’s, indeed, a fear of the unpredictable nature of the world around (people, to be specific)
The way a person dreams, tells a lot about that person. Dreams are, in a lot of cases, a visual/sensory representation of many an issue a person has. I do nΓ³tmean the jumble of visual rubbish that sometimes pervades dreams. ThΓ³se are more of a “wiping” of RAM, so to speak.
Flushing the cache, to stay in ICT terms. Useful as “taking out the rubbish”
That’s a level of logical thought that our dear Alex seems to lack at times…and I don’t think he would consider now a good time to wake up to get advice from Dan on how best to accomplish this. π
Make that 14,798 to 15,800 as of this morning. π
They try this, waiting for the last sister island to rise. It brings them to the city, but a guardian standing there tells them, “You did not tread the path of all the sisters! Start Over and do it right!” and pushes them off.
I’ve never flown in my dreams that I can remember. I do a lot of falling from heights and usually hit the ground, too! Just get up, dust off and keep going. π
Heh! Like getting to the Pit Stop in “The Amazing Race” and being told by Phil that you missed a Road Block! π
See? See? The voting magic works! π
forcefields put in place by.. I dunno, the Wizards? just in case the kids were flying with friends and woke up suddenly, and their friends fell… i dunno. it’s magic. maybe flight magic has altitude issues.
Was there? I have the memory of a goldfish, so you’re probably right and I just don’t remember it.
OH LOOK SOMETHING SHINY–wait, what were we talking about again?
