This week is great for the reunion itself but even more so for the fact that ANY lingering doubts they had concerning the reality of Dreamland are gone!It is so cool! (I have been reduced to a little excited kid!)

Alright Scott Christian Sava, you win. I have been pretty good at abstaining from any of the “d’awwww” conversations and tissue passing these past couple of pages, but this page brought involuntary tears to my eyes. Well done~

I had originally had the panels reversed in the script.
Felicity looked up and smiled, “Hey, Ponytail!”
Nicole said with tears in her eyes, “Hi, Kitty cat.”
I think that worked better for their personalities…but visually (especially with Nicole looking down into the water) this way worked best.
Sigh. No page is ever perfect….

I think it is perfect this way. Yes, Felicity has the more forceful, outgoing personality. But with this arrangement, there’s a subtle nuance of a hint that this reunion not only completely floored Felicity, but also provided a much needed boost to Nicole’s confidence in herself and her belief in Dreamland.
If you allow for that, it’s perfectly acceptable for Nicole to speak first.

Just FYI if she can’t touch her, then she wouldn’t be able to hear her either since sound waves are also physical (and have to hit the ear drum to be “heard”). Let’s just chalk another one up to “magic” huh 🙂

Felicity is just delightful on this page, and I never noticed before how glowy those armlets of hers are… O_o
Still, it’s hard to convey in words, but staring at the second panel I dare say one gets a sense of what it must feel like, to be Nicole in this moment. Felicity looks so very, very close, and impossibly vital, so very much alive and near, yet too far to reach, too perfect to be a part of the waking world. Yet there she is, alive, seemingly just inches away.
In short, Felicity is an inspirational character, and this is, for me at least, an inspirational page. Thanks again Scott!!! ^_^

Actually, even though the physical substances containing the sound waves can’t pass through the portal, the energy causing the waves can, and would duplicate the sound waves in the substance on the other side of the portal. A good example is how electronic devices use energy to receive and duplicate sound.
Just saying it is logically possible… 😉

All of that build up…for THIS!? I can’t believe I hung in so long, *sniff!*, just to be let down, *SOB!*, so terribly! I expected so much ……WAAAHHHH! Sorry, I have to go……..
Light&sound are both waves.
And to be very precise, if quantum mechanics is right, even matter is actually waves. Something very wrongly interpreted by the New-Age crowds, hence their talk about getting oneself into “higher vibrations” when they mean the buddhist kind of “enlightenment”
Pages like these are the proof that well-done CGI can be as powerful as the classic drawing styles.
By the by, just 1 little niggle. Nicole’s left eye seems a bit odd, you’d expect that the eye that’s in the light, would be sqeezed for a bit, but it is the eye in the dark.
Or is that just the result from hand-painting the tears? *scratches chin* hmmm.. Still loks a bit off.
On the other hand, her mouth is spot-on! Júst a-symmetric enough to convey Nicole’s emotional turmoil.
