I drew Daredevil.
I have the feeling that by the time Alex comes back these two are going to BFF!
Quick question about your great Daredevil painting: Isn’t it possible Marvel/Disney might be a tad perturbed about you making any dough off of their character, if you know what I mean? Just wondering…
Like Penny and Amy.
OMG!!! She knows?? How could she possibly know? It wasn’t like she was -gasp- in love with Merlin?! C’mon, Nastajia, I’ll bet even Alex picked up on that one lol. Btw, Scott, I really love the coloration of the Underwater Cave.
Omg… could you…draw…ELEKTRA?! From Daredevil, in that case – before she went nuts! π
“Pretty please”? π
Awww…give Nastajia a break on this one. Every girl in love feels like she’s the only one who is experiencing (or has ever experienced) those feelings. π It probably was also easy for her to forget Niviene’s experience with Merlin because a) she didn’t see it as we did…she only heard the story told, and nuances of emotion are easier to see than re-tell, and b) it has been hours since they were told this story from her perspective, and when preoccupied with waiting and worrying, it’s easy to forget the feelings of others.
I do agree with Gina though. I think these two are going to be besties (are at least very good friends) after this. π
Agreed. My first thought was “Weren’t you paying attention to the story? At all!?”
*putting extra water in the space under the staircase* Nice pics. Will comment more if Nashville survives the weekend.
Is it just me, or does Nastajia’s neck keep getting longer and longer?
While I am posting this as a reply to your post, as you are the latest person to mention something like this, this actually applies to anyone who in the past, or in the future, has made or will make this kind of comment…
It has been stated before, that Scott uses computer models for his webcomic, models which have to be created by specialists, at a somewhat prohibitive cost (which means he will not do much in way of modifying any particular model unless he really has to.) He then uses those models and poses them in various situations in his modeling software in order to create his comic. This is akin to taking photos of action figures, posing them whichever way you liked, to make the webcomic with. And just as wanting an action figure to look different (be it different sized hands, nose, neck, whatever) would mean dishing out money for a new action figure (if one existed that had the changes you wanted) or dishing out even more money to have a custom-made action figure done (in case none existed that had the changes you wanted), in this case, wanting a modification to any of the characters would mean having to contact the designer (or team of designers) to make the changes desired, which would mean shelling out quite a bit, regardless of the size of the changes needed (big or small, a change is a change, and so needs to go to the designer for it).
Consequently, any perception of change, however small, is most likely just that: a perception, most likely brought on by a change in surroundings… When a change actually occurs, such as when Nastajia had a change of outfit when they stayed at the centaurs’ village, Scott is usually quite explicit in letting us know that changes had been made by getting a new design done (even though the change was obvious, in the aforementioned case).
Therefore, I’m sure he would also let us know if a smaller design change was made (such as when he changed the color of Nicole’s skin and lipstick).
Ergo: her neck is no longer or shorter than it’s ever been.
(Yes, I do tend to have diarrhea of the mouth/keyboard, at times… π )
Hey guys!
I just wanted to let you know that I’ve lengthened Nastajia’s neck to…oh…sorry Lake Wrangler. I didn’t mean to …oops.
π
Yeah, that’s the first thing I thought of as well.
Probably not. Companies tend to look the other way for selling fanart, unless it’s really blatant infringement.
From Nastajia’s expression in the penultimate panel, I’m guessing “You know?” isn’t so much a question as a statement, despite the question mark π
Also I’d like to say here that Niviene has a very expressive face!
Nice little moment.
of course she would know, who could not want to love that young hot merlin. π
So I woke up this morning and found that my snowboard had been stolen. After trolling the internets for about 5 hours I found this comic. The next 6 hours i spent reading it made me forget about the mornings heart break for a bit. Thanks
Sorry to hear about your snowboard, Raleighpop. π Glad you found some solace here though. Hope you’re able to get it returned or replaced soon!
I can’t look at Niviene without thinking she looks like River Song from Dr Who!
We’ve seen Nicole’s skin get darker–and Scott did verify that he did it. So, while it may be more involved to lengthen a neck, it can be done.
I must sat that every time I see Nivieneβs smile, I think it’s the cutest, most impish face in this strip!
Yeah her neck is past borderline, she looks a little off, guess we could say it’s an optical illusion due to the refraction of light from the water?
yup yup!!!
I promise. I haven’t touched her neck.
Sorry. Page is STILL rendering (24 hours later).
Oh my goodness, you’re right! that’s kinda hilarious. ( now I just want her to say, “Hello, Sweetie”, if /when they rescue Merlin.)
Definitely time to get some new computers.
I take it its one of those renders that still hasn’t entered the latest century of multicore computing and large swaths of memory?
Oh great, now I can’t stop staring at her neck. It gets longer and longer the longer I look at it. lol!
Sounds like a vampire’s defense statement.
