Page 1407…
Thanks for reading this week!
I’ve got lots of Book Five orders to fulfill…so if you don’t hear from me much…you know I’m doing lots of sketches.
If you ordered the books via kickstarter or from the store…please make sure you’ve told me which characters you’d like sketched.
That helps speed things up a lot.
Thanks and have a great weekend.
Scott
Kiwi’s last line made me think of the song from “An American Tail” .. great, now I have that song stuck in my head. Thanks … thanks a lot Scott.
“Theeeeeeeeeen, we’ll be togeeeeeeeether…” 😀
How’d ya go from #1388 to here?
Has any of them thought to look…. UP!
It IS a floating city. maybe they are at the wrong altitude.
You’d think a flying creature would have better sense of the 3d world of flying…
Heaven forbid they get into real space where it’s never up and down, side to side, but side to side on all 3 axis.
me too!
Had to go there, didn’t you? I knew it reminded me of something, but fortunately I originally couldn’t place it.
Hmmm… Wonder if it could be abscured by a cloud. The floating city could be hidden so many ways…
Perhaps cameoflaged like the ship in the movie “Chicken Little”?
Ever seen Last Exile?
Yeah… They’ll know when a giant storm sucks them up and rips them apart. AND warships are shooting at them. That anime would be a great reference for future pages…
It’s a floating city. Nobody said it was an *anchored* floating city. Stuff that floats tends to drift away at the whimsy of ebbs and flows.
Really, it’s a bit pointless to write on a map the position of a floating city. It’s like writing the position of a boat. Unless it’s wrecked, it’s going to be somewhere else by the time you’ve finished the map.
Sketches? All we get are sketches after all that work you’ve been showing us about doing watercolors?
Just kidding. 😉
Now you have an idea for an extra special premium!
I like the look in the first panel, of the ship cutting through the clouds. well done.
What happened to the other pirate ship? Weren’t they about to go on the attack when we left off with them?
Glad to see I wasn’t the only one to immediately think of that movie. XD
Yup, good old Fievel. ^_^
I love the colors and lighting in panels 2 and 3
The city has a cloaking device. The image of a pirate ship on page 1388 is a copy of their ship.
Unless the map is magic, and automatically keeps track of the city using GPS (Gnomic Positioning Sorcery.)
Heh, that explains a lot …
A giant rock man threw a crazy cat lady into their midst. Fun and hijinks ensued.
ahhhh… (forlorne sigh) everytime I see Felicity it’s an old love rekindled…. She is sooo cuuuute (and as cats go when confronted with overly zealous cat-lovers: She gets all hairy, hisses, and runs like crazy…)
Unless the city is magic, and keeps its position because of that. Oh hey, it floats…. it must be magic anyway :p
But yeah, a drifting floating city did occur to me too.
Cue crashing into the floating city in 3…2…1
It’s the same as every pirate ship we’ve seen. I’m not sure we can take that as evidence of cloaking/mirror defenses for the city.
Interesting, it seems we imagined the other pirate ship they went to attack.
Good point! I hadn’t thought that far ahead yet….
Someone ought to tell Kiwi her straps are slipping.
Here there be floaty magic cities…
