Only 6 more pages until the end of this chapter.
I’m working on Chapter 17 now.
Tomorrow (hopefully) or Monday…I’m going to post the Kickstarter page for the pre-ordering of Book Five.
I’ll try to post lots of “making ofs” in between chapters.

Ok, is it just me or is there something messed up with her left eye in the last panel? One eye is looking forward while the left eye is looking at alex, or am I the only one?

Now there’s a nice little problem. If married in Dreamland, would getting drunk, meet a cute student, and act upon that (that’s what a lot of students do. ‘S part of “student-life” at least, it was where I studied) in “realland” be cheating???…. 😛
Hmm..yes. It looks as if the left corner of her left eye ended up wrong. To much protruding under eye-lid going on it seems.. Somehow the glassy bit of the eye-ball is not visible enough I guess.
Didn’t notice that at first. I was intrigued & impressed by the sudden beautiful realism in Staj’s Nose and mouth-textures in the last panel.

Alex: Oh, I appreciate the offer but I’m seeing someone.
Cute student: Oh really? Who? I don’t think I’ve ever seen you with another girl before.

Any self respecting medieval king has a harem so I don’t see this as an issue. The two planes of reality even makes it easier to “deal with” ^^

I so pray that Nastajia isn’t distracted by the hated nickname and says what she wants to ask tomorrow, or at least give a hint. Too many options and even more options as to how Alex will handle it. How ironic that this may give me a clue to the adult question *I* want to ask.

I would think that one thing on the top of her priority list is finding her parents. Maybe THE one thing…that’s what started all this in the first place. Depose Nicodemus, find her parents. I’m hoping her question revolves around that rather than marriage plans!
Uh-oh, she’s looking pensive and stammering a bit. This is going to be heavy. I hope Alex can surprise us by dealing with it well.
(What is up with her hair? In this strip and previous ones it keeps moving from the back to the front. It looks good hanging down over her shoulders, but is there a breeze blowing from behind them moving it around? Or does her hair move on its own?)

While I understand why so many people feel like this is going to lead to a marriage talk, I have to wonder if it will be a bit more than that. I mean, Nastajia has to know that Alex hasn’t been comfortable with the idea of being king…and also know that he thinks his brother is more qualified. In her shoes, I’d be more inclined to ask Alex if he intended to stay king or if he planned to abdicate in favor of his brother (or even another human)…especially knowing that he can give up the sword now. I’d also not want him being a king just to be with me. That couldn’t possibly be in the best interests of the people.
*shrugs* We’ll see tomorrow I guess. 🙂
i say she pops the question. my question to scott is can they have children? why does my mind turn a PG comic to R???? or worse extremely adult.
I have to agree with those that think this is a discussion regarding Alex’s role as King and his readiness to fill that position. Marriage is much too big a leap here. They’ve barely established a relationship and Alex remaining in Dreamland is too much in doubt. Nastajia is much too practical to jump into romantic fancy with so much going on politically.
Her eye is correct; it’s just that her hair is covering most of it. I think we’re seeing her iris from the side like her other eye (like in Panel 1), but since most of it is covered, our brains fill in the whole iris and makes it look off.
She doesn’t look nervous to me.

“Can they have children” is still innocently PG. Though it does tempt an answer that crosses into “R” territory; but I don’t think Scott’s the kind of person to do that.
