Happy Friday!
It’s been an emotional week for Felicity. I hope you’ve enjoyed the pages.
We’ll be wrapping up this chapter (which will also wrap up Book Five) very soon.
Maybe a couple weeks more. Then I’ll (hopefully) be able to jump right into Chapter 17.
I’m just putting some notes together…then will start writing.

How many of you know that there’s a Dreamland Facebook Page?
I love how the scene makes Felicity look so child-like (in a good way).
Also, Alex’s serious face just seems… not Alex. Not in the way of it could’ve been rendered differently, but in the way of it doesn’t seem like Alex uses it very often. He has a happy face.
I like this new side of Alex. Comforting Felicity is not something I could have seen him do naturally at the beginning of the story. He would have just been awkward and not confident in himself enough to talk to someone in their sorrow.
Could he be growing up emotionally? Could be!
Aw, those big, sad cat eyes are just heart breaking.
I also swear they are bigger than usual…
I wonder if Felicity would take the term “puppy eyes” as an insult.
I don’t mean to be hyper critical, but the lighting on Felicity’s eyes seem a little off. Specifically, the placement of the white spots on the right eye.
I’m falling in love with Felicity.. or maybe it’s that psychological condition that disguises pity for love.. or.. sigh.. I just wanna cuddle her now 🙁
Another dream shattered for the poor kitten.. When will Felicity get a break. Her youth shattered by imprisonment and abuse through Nicodemus, almost dying when betrayed by the same Nicodemus. Getting her spirits back through that letter-bag thing, yet, now all is taken away from her again.
To paraphrase Benn Grimm: “Whatta revoltin’ development”
I really feel bummed that I cannot reach in to the panel and hug Felicity. I have never seen such deep sadness and disillusion so utterly poignantly expressed through the medium of CG.. Kudos..
I feel that Felicity -basically- still is a child. Her time on a leash from Nicodemus, living fropm day-to-day ,stealing what she needed, did not leave her much time to grow-up. Nastaija may be of comparable age, but she had a whole kingdom thrust upon her. Quite the difference

Maybe if you guys weren’t being creepy and sitting in the room when she was trying to sleep it would have worked out.
It’s nice seeing how Alex has grown as a person, acting more mature and adult-like.
It’s funny. Alex actually looks like royalty when he’s talking to Felicity in this comic.
Wow. Great job, Scott, especially on the second panel. Felicity’s heartache and Alex’s empathy are expressed very well. It’s too bad that Nicole couldn’t travel to Dreamland, but it’s almost worth it to see this side of Alex.
He’s definitely matured – maybe it’s the huge gashes across his chest that put a little responsibility into him.
There is a lot of story to go. I get the feeling that, in order to have true peace in dreamland, Alex is going to have to succeed where Arthur failed. The sword has told him of Merlin whom, I think, is the key to getting other adults into dreamland, especially Dan.

On another note, NEW BOOK!!!! 🙂 The more books, the more I can eventually buy in print…and the closer to knowing how it all ends we’ll be!

BTW Scott if a human had a kid with a dream lander,would they be able to come to the human world to?
Maybe this is just the idealist in me talking, but I don’t believe this is over. Arthur was working on a way to make this happen when he was trapped.

you don’t “place” white spots on a 3D character. You increase the specular component and let the computer figure out how that affects the reflectivity

I agree. Ever since she did the whole “Ewwww!!!” thing when Alex and Nastajia were kissing, I’ve though of her as an adolescent.
I was wondering what would have happened if Nicole was successful in getting to Dreamland. That would have been the embodiment of exactly why Nicodemous usurped the throne: a human adult besides the King in Dreamland. I expect more Dreamland residents than just Nicodemous felt strongly about this. The reaction from the crowd in Astoria may not have been positive.
To this point, we don’t know the true motivations of the leader of the Wraiths: Abaddon. Is he really concerned about more human adults in Dreamland or was this just an excuse to weild more power? Is there truly a threat of destabilizing the reality of Dreamland by having another human enter it? Time (and the next 8 chapters) may tell!
*huggles Felicity* I love how Alex is handling this; it’s very mature, almost kingly. This is going to be a FUN 8 chapters watching him evolve.

As Lifeaintfair said, just above, Nastajia (and Alex too) are growing up fast–but that happens when you have responsibility thrust on you.

I wish that would have worked honestly-it’s not fair that this happened to her.
I was definitely hoping it would have worked. Love Felicity’s eyes and emotions here. I feel the sadness, sympathize with her. Of course, you did a good job investing us in it… making us want to see what it would be like if Nicole could make it… I hope this is setting us up for an attempt to open up Dreamland to the adult realm again. Where Arthur failed, can Alex succeed?
I officially like Alex even more.

Scott.. I am getting an Asian “dating-service” ad on he right.. I do not find that very appropriate, to be honest.. I do not mind ren-fair shops and such, but that??
After a bit of concentraded looking, I find Felicity looking like a child that lost all. The last time i saw that look was, when aquaintances of mine had a horrible car-accident, and their 11 year old daughter was the only one to get away unharmed.
On visiting them in the hospital, she looked at me exactly like Felicity here. Sad, constant streams of tears, non-comprehending, constantly asking if she did something wrong..
Luckily her grandparents were there too, and had taken care of her, yet, that way of looking stayed. Heartwrenching, really.. 🙁 Not something one shakes-off easily….
Indeed they do. They seem especially harsh for a world apparently there for human kids.
I gather that will be Alex’ task for the coming months: find a way for selected grown-ups to enter (read : Nicole and Dan)
I have to say along withe everyone else: Holy cow, Scott! You’ve outdone yourself with the way you’ve communicated the emotion of this scene! I can’t wait to see this animated and have a music score behind it (assuming your deal goes through, of course, which I’m praying does)! I WILL cry, guaranteed!

I have now noticed, for the first time, that Felicity’s pupils are round, rather than feline-like…
I guess that’s more or less normal, with anthropomorphic animals creatures… some features will get to be more “human” than others… I just can’t believe I never saw it before…
Love the story, even if I don’t post all that often… nice to see you still get us hooked, hanging on your every word…

Next time you find yourself looking into the face of a “real life” tiger, note the eyes – unlike house cats, they have round pupils.
Felicity’s eyes actually match well with her other tiger-like features …

Well Alex is the diminutive for Alexander, as in Alexander the Great, who seemed to never let things stand in his way and was about as smart as our Alex here. Which proves that you do not have to be a super genius to get things done, you just have to bull ahead until you hit a block that no one can overcome.
Scott, for me it got so bad I had to add AdBlockerPlus in Firefox, and all the adds were more of an adult nature, IE dating services, and seemed to be tied to Google analytics. But google analytics seem to be on every webpage at every website, must make tracking us very easy.
Personally, if Dan had his way even Alex would be unable to cross over. Dan believes in pure science, if he cannot cut it up, look at it under a microscope, run it through a computer, or prove it with mathematics, it does not and cannot exist. Nick had the perfect helpers in the waking world in Dan and in scientists and Psychiatrists and Psychologists: they believed in only what they could see and test and are really repressed people and they want more just like them.
Actually tek you may want to re think that depending on the breed of cat some cats do have very round eyes i know black cat that is big as a small dog{not toy dog of any type} but its huge and has very well rounded eyes it call the cat a panther due she so friggen heavy and big compared to the size of a dog that you can carry with both arms her body with be in your arms but her paws will hang over you shoulder and head too
You know, actually yeah. It’s a bit like Ryu’s (ripped at the edges) gi in StreetFighter, it lets you know he’s ‘been there’ and isn’t afraid to throw down!
Back on topic, Alex is doing a really great job, but he better be hugging the hell out of Felicity in the next panel, she needs it!

to bad king arthur’s plan to make some items similar to the sword never came around even if it was only 1 of them left around would be handy.
The claw marks do look cool on the armor. That said, however, I suspect a hug coming up on Monday’s installment…
