Page 1250…
Hey, you guys.
Remember Astral and her mom?
Still no word from Apple as to when our app will be out of review.
I’ll give you a heads up when it’s approved and in the store.
Thanks again for reading.

Ah! Torture! Another Cliffhanger!
What are all these people doing outside, in the rain, to begin with? Not only that, but with the recent bombardment of Astoria, I would have thought they would have sought shelter, not be out in the street…
Well, if they didn’t know something was up before, I bet they do now…
Would be awesome if Astral were to dash off to the castle’s direction, bringing a curious crowd that eventually rallies and mobs Nic’s lackeys.
Wooo.
Now, that’s one mighty fine fireball!
I like this sudden cut to the townsfolk. It makes it feel more real, if that makes sense.
Is that a Yu-gi-oh necklace on the far right of the second panel?
She said “Oh.”
If I’d been there, I’d go “Oooooooooh.”
Nah, just an triangle.
Since the bombardment, Dwarves took the gates, secured the walls, and captured the palace. Time enough to grow curious.
I also recall that “Sales Gnome” on the far right of panel 2 – he was in the session where we met… ehrrrm… “Spotty”! 🙂 The gentleman with the long Spanish-sounding set of names.
I read it as “OH!” with the exclamation mark, showing a sense of being startled or surprised.
Maybe it’s more like a “Oh, I hope the people up there are alright.” rather than “Ohhhhhhh, how pretty!” 😀
Ah. Here he is; page #165:

Love the dude with the glasses on the left in panel 2. Nice job 🙂
I had forgotten Astral, and I need to go back and remind myself of those early chapters, because they’re great stuff. But apart from that there’s a typo back then that I missed first time around. You may want to change the seetheart to sweetheart.
He (she?) looks like the one who was watching the dwarfs crack out of the boulders on page 1237:

This is going to be an interesting week! Nicodemus may have made a big mistake by attacking Alexander so abruptly.
If Alex simply reacts before he has time to think about what he’s doing, he may well be able to tap all the abilities he has as a human in Dreamland – strength, speed, etc. And if he can do that, it could feed back, reinforcing his abilities as he see/feels them working.
“I think I can. I THINK I can. I think I CAN!” (Oh wait, that’s another story. 😉 )
You rat, Scott. You purposely did this to suspend disbelief that someone actually died up there.
And I applaud you for it. As I curse you under my breath 😛
The townsfolk perspective… Nicely done, Scott! 😉
Nailbiter….again….at least we see some old faces
LOL I wish! It just looks like it
🙂
Oh. Thanks.
Updated it.
Fortunately it was fixed for the print version.
Whew.
oooh..I really love the lighting in that last panel…
I hate being left on the end of a limb….but it makes for a better story. Love the cut back to Astral.
I smell Cliffhanger Week.
Hey Scott, panel one would make an AWESOME desktop… Yeah? Mebbe? Please? ^.^
Fireworks in a dark sky? It’s too early for that! I only get that in another hour or two.
I was wrong–now I get both sets of fireworks: those in the banner, and those at the top of the tower in the first pannel.
Is it tomorrow yet?
I love the tie-in to 1000 pages ago!
How in Dreamland did you recognize a random extra from twelve chapters ago?
That’s some seriously bad breath. Dude, tic-tac?
There are more familiar faces on the page before as well:

Seriously love the crowd shots. Your character designs are awesome. And I really dig panel 3 – I was SO that kid when I was little.
… And so the concept of Lighting the Olympic Torch came to Dreamland …
😉
Hey all!
Hate to do this to you…but there’s some parts of Wednesday’s page that needed a re-render. And I’m still waiting for the last frame to finish.
I’m SOOO not a night owl. The boys are awake at 6:30 am. So I’m off to sleep so I can get them to school. Then I’ll put the page together before noon.
PROMISE.
Lots of raindrops to paint in the morning.
Good night.
🙂
Curse you for being awesome enough to make this cliff hanger before wednesday Scott. I have been waiting all day (it is now 1:13 am here) for no more cliffhanger. Curse you for making me stay up this late refreshing almost constantly to see the new page. Curse your epic storytelling skills. Tell the boys that you now have some one who has cursed you three times in one comment and give our love to Donna.
ooooooo pretty!!!
No hurries, no worries, Scott. Take your time. If things need to be rendered again, then thats what it is, so let’s take it easy. And in the meantime I keep wondering whether Alex has managed to give that stupid dragon the good old one-two. You know, fire-safe armour and what. ^^
Happy rendering 🙂
I even had him as my “avatar” for a while! 😉
My guess: Smoke clears and Alex is standing, slightly scorched armor but unharmed. No one else is even touched.
“Nick, we *KNEW* we were up against a fire-breathing dragon. We’ve already out-thought you on other fronts. Do you think for one SECOND that my brother didn’t already figure out how to deal with YOU and your bad breath?”
You’re just making us wait to find out that all the heros flew out the window right before Nic blew his top. Aren’t you?
I know, I was making a stupid comment… Which I achieved for all the wrong reasons, LOLz.
Hmm … I don’t suppose you’re any relation to the “<a href = http://www.newgrounds.com/collection/xiaoxiaoXiao Xiao” series of cool stick figure animations?
😉
Oops! My tags are showing … 😳
What that was supposed to look like: Xiao Xiao
😕
“Mommy, look! King Nicky sneezed again!”
Cool seeing the townspeople. I hope we get more exposure to them in the future.
Told you they were townsfolk and not villagers.
