SotiCoto, on p. 29, Alex used the sword and cut Nicodemus there. (Of course, this flashback would have been before Alex found the sword, so it shouldn’t be there yet.)
Arthur Pendragon is usually how he’s remembered, yes.
Also, I was a bit curious as to how many great human rulers have also ruled in Dreamland? Perhaps another Alexander once ruled as well? And, if one looks past the propaganda in history perpetrated by his enemies, Genghis? Or would Nicodemus have been in power by his time?
Nevermind the last comment. Wasn’t doing my math rightly. More like 1200 years would have been more appropriate, but again, I suppose Nicodemus could’ve ruled for well 600 years in Dreamland and 1200 years go by in our world, depending on how time ended up operating in Dreamland.
Precisely my point… but apparently since it is just shadowing, it doesn’t matter.
And incidentally, I’m not sure why Nic would ask that question since it seems that Oberon is suggesting the very opposite of what he is being accused of.
The surname Pendragon is usually associated with Arthur’s biological father Uther.
I have pretty much never heard it associated with Arthur himself, who is generally known only as “King Arthur” or “Arthur of Camelot”.
Nicodemus is a very interesting villain. I love how you wrote him. Sure he’s supposed to be a jerk but you acknowledged that he’d still have eloquence about him that comes with being a king for so long. It’s an interesting thing to see from something as beastly as a Dragon.
Pendragon! Thus the Arthurian myth continues
… Is that a scar / continuity error on Nico’s eyebrow or am I just imagining it?

You’re imagining it.. it’s the shadowing.
I love Nick’s stance in the first panel…

pendragon? as in arthur pendragon?
600 years ago would be about right for Arthur to have been the last king, depending on which aspect of Arthurian Legend you choose.

Pop that hip, Nicky. 😀
One of the tablets has a walkthrough for the Nicodemus final boss fight!
The Pendragon is mightier than the Sworddragon.
“Don’t make me go medieval on yo’ ass.”
Pendragon–last ruler listed on the Mer-tablet before the treachery, correct?
hahahahahahahahahahahahaha WIN

It’s a crime to keep something of historical value. I’m getting an “it belongs in a museum!” vibe from Nic.
Here! Here!

The pen is mightier than the sword. And do you remember what the sword did to you, Nicodemus..?
