It would be interesting if Alex could discipline his body to be able to sleep and awake at will and have more control over his actions in dreamland. Perhaps something like the dreamwalkers in wheel of time.

Anyone else notice that the Sword has closed its eye for this one? It’s probably snickering to itself right now as it records this encounter for posterity’s sake.

Strange enough, I tend to fall asleep at convenient times.
OMG So I just found this TODAY (I guess it was technically yesterday?) from the Girls With Slingshots page and I read through EVERYTHING and it is AWESOME and I just got to today’s post with 20 minutes left on my laptop battery and no hope of charging it because my charger is dead and it is almost 3 AM and OMG. This is all. 😀 (3 am geek out moments kind of rock, IMHO)
I know that look and Alexander is so screwed. The best survival strategy I can think of is to hold still and not cause any more offense. If you hold still long enough, do exactly what they say, it eventually eyes will soften with the “well, he is still kind of cute” look and eventually migrate to the “well, he is half trained and I don’t want to start out again with another idiot so I will let him live” look. if he can make it that far, he might live another day.

You’ve managed to come by at a fairly awkward moment, since the comic’s update schedule is a bit “figure it out as we go along” right now, because of a movie deal for this comic he’s doing, but hopefully you’ll stick around long enough that you’ll be able to see this place when it’s in full swing like it normally is. 😀

Hmmm…. I have the feeling that there may be too much bloom again. I can hardly make out the faces of the characters.
I wonder if Nastajia’s eyes are supposed to look that cold, pale and icy! That icy stare, I can just hear this dialogue… Meep! She HAS grown up with responsibility all her life though– her life is devoted to being a princess and its responsibilities..
Maybe.. before I looked at it more closely, I could hardly tell there were as many characters as are actually in the first frame..

I’m not so sure about that. He looked surprised when he started to wake up, and it was a few minutes before 8 in the morning, with sunlight streaming into the bedroom. That wouldn’t be an abnormal time to wake up naturally.

We have confirmation that there is a Dreamland Chronicles movie in the works (as well as another based on one of Scott’s other stories; I can’t remember which off the top of my head but I know it’s one of the children’s stories). Beyond that, we don’t have much info yet; I would hazard a guess that we probably won’t even see commercials and trailers for quite a while yet.
Scott has promised on several occasions (one of which you saw above) to tell us what he can when he can. So in the mean time, enjoy the comic!
(Post Smiley: If you’re pining for more during Scott’s much needed update hiatus, there’s lots of cool stuff in the Extras section, the Wiki contains extensive information on Dreamland, and you can always go back through the archive and read all the comments … )
Oh, I sincerely hope not! I mean, I’m no expert on colors (I’m red-green colorblind, in fact), but I rather like the current color of Alex’s armor.

You know… I’d actually like it if it was white. No idea why. It’s not that I don’t like the colours – but if it was a live action movie…. I don’t know. People associate colours rather towards a monochromatic combined with a pure primary or secondary colour with serious cinema, so it might be a better choice. Plus if the comic colours would be kept, I can just hear a lot of silly people going “This is gay!” on IMDB right now. It’s a shame for the style though.
If it had to be changed, personally I’d root for a white and blue armour.

Just kidding, how it is in the comic looks good. But for me everything looks much cooler in black. Especially black and red, but that’s usually reserved for the bad guys.

yah know i really wish i read that post yesterday x-x. oh well. my one today is that i just had a sudden fear of what will i do when this is all said and over with, granted thats along time from now, that just means that hole will just be bigger when its gone!…bah! ill just get my nephews into it >:D they’re getting to that age muwahahahaha! then i can enjoy it with them ^.^ Keep up the Great work Scott. I give it ten minutes before he caves and explains. Ten solid minutes of the glare. I am glad that not many people realize the true power of it. Especially if the person giving the glare is some one that the person receiving it is very emotionally close to. If any one feels like putting at five minutes before he caves, I challenge you to prove that any one relationship can result in a glare of such intensity! Married couples need not apply, if you have been the unfortunate receiver of such a glare, my pity goes to you.

Can you vote for more than one comic per day on Top 100 web comics? I keep voting for Dreamland and I wonder if I can vote for my own comic as well.
Indeed, you can vote for as many different comics as you like! The only limit is you can only vote for each comic once per day per IP address (i.e. you can vote from home, and again from work, and a third time from a WiFi hotspot, etc.).
I have about 11 comics I vote for every day, plus a few more that I only vote for when they update.
P.S. It may help to keep track of your favorite webcomics on TWC if you open an account on the TWC site. It’s free, and it lets you create a list of favorites that you can quickly go through and vote for each day.
P.P.S. What’s the link to your webcomic (assuming it’s not adult in nature and therefore inappropriate here)? I’m always willing to try out new candidates for an archive binge!

It’s completely clean of language or any sexual theme, however it does have some violence- but not much more than Dreamland so far.

I just didn’t think Paddy, Kiwi, Orion & Nastajia had ears as sharp as a cat!
I agree with both. I think he probably hit a light sleep spot and started waking up a little, then realized that he could do what all men would like to when faced with things they do not want to deal with and just disappear from it. It was a purposeful, but not pre-meditated waking up.
I have personally only received such a glare from my mother (kinda forget to study and do homework, like maybe that, wait, a HEALTH FINAL?!?!?!) yeah… she gets mad when i forget things. Like tests. And other things. Aaaanyway, Alex is either dead, lectured for an hour and dead, or drawn, quartered, flayed, tugged to pieces and dead. From Staj’s glare, I’d say the las is most likely. Oh well, idiot kings are a dime a dozen. But really, Alex you are very screwed unless you worship Staj like a deity from now until you die. Elf. Bow. Mad. You dead. But he’s wearing armor…hmm debatable death, certain lecture and possibly a loss of love entirely from Nastajia.
