The sword gives him a buff when activated, I suppose that just happen. Still, he is not yet ready to face Nicodemus, he should level on some Nightmares first. Oh, and take the lewtz.
Sure, kill the guards, why not? If you ever get lost in a fantasy world, don’t become a guard, it seems like their only purpose is to die. Poor guards, no one cares…….
That was my exact though, he’s probably never even held one!…..Although, with him carrying it around for such a long time, and him being in a frenzy to help Kiwi…..Blargh
I thought all of the residents of Dreamland had green blood. That wound inflicted in panel 3 has red blood coming off of the Sword of Kings. Was that a mistake, or is there something about the crocodiles that we aren’t supposed to know yet?
So we have seen that it has an eye, therefore probably has at least an ego or maybe even sentience. It is obviously keen. I wonder if it has the “of dancing” quality or perhaps “vorpal”?
That’s a good question. The only blood I recall seeing so far has been green (pirates of the Nightmare Realm, and Nicodemus), and this crocoguard’s red blood. Makes me wonder, do the Nightmare Realm denizens all bleed green, and the Dreamland folk all bleed red? That has distinct implications for these guards’ origin, and Ole’ Nick’s.
When did he learn how to use a sword?
About ten seconds ago
stop it! you’ll attract the dragon’s attention! Couldn’t you have just waited 10 seconds?

What Maklak said, since it’s a sentient sword it could poses Alex with a certain amount of skill.
Besides, what better way to improve than to fight people better than you? Nicodemus for example! 😛
Steve Irwin is rolling in his grave.

[p.s. The sword can cut through anything; it doesn’t need skill to wield.]
Is this surprise or complete surprise?
When you’re really in trouble… Or when you really need it… It just comes to you. You don’t even think, you just fight. It’s called Adrenaline.
The crocs look like their having fun. Smile, much?

you stick the sharp end in the other guy. It cuts anything and these guys are using basic spears, that’s about all it takes.
Spears beat swords if there is a little more space between participants.
