May your Sword never break.
May your Armor never rust.
May your Prayers be heard.
May your Beard grow long.
May your Homeland prosper.
May Dragons fly ever in your Dreams.
I think so, and doing something for the children, because he can. I think he probably still thinks lowly of humanity, but that the children are innocents and to be protected. Beyond that, I think the reputation of Dreamland itself is on the line, and that’s near and dear to him.
Don’t forget, we haven’t seen Felicity in quite some time. She still has the sheath with it’s healing powers. Perhaps Nic’s sacrifice, won’t be a sacrifice at all. It’s the thought that counts right?
If Daniel is a smart king he may want to keep Nicodemus alive and resume his duties as advisor to the King. Shame to waste all that knowledge and perspective.
He’s expressed nothing but contempt for humans up to this point. He doesn’t like them being in Dreamland, he didn’t care that they were being kidnapped, and he only cared about the invasion of Earth because there was also an invasion of Dreamland. Unless he actually realizes that what he did was wrong, it seems unlike him to do this.
Bombastic page, I love it!

Just about shed a tear for ol’ Nic there. He’s really turned a new leaf, wow!
Is Nic making amends for past misdeeds?

…or is he pulling a Bhaal (D&D) and sowing seeds in mortals for a future resurrection?
Tears in the rain.
Aw Nic, i knew you weren’t irredeemable!
Hope he has enough to go around :\
haha, Nastajia’s gears are mashing.

Doesn’t Nic still have that leaf? I’m not sure I still completely trust him.
Nic has a conscience?
I’m… oddly disappointed to learn this!
Well, children are a major part of Dreamland. And he loves Dreamland. Therefore he will save the children. <3
oh please, he’s probably got the Issu thingy under his tongue and is going to take off once the kids are free…
Srsly? Did Nicodemus not *know* that this was how The Dreamer was keeping himself alive?
I
GOT
CHILLS.
Well done!
I bet all of the children are now dreaming of a gentle dragon savior.
In the end Nicodemus earns his redemption at the cost of his own life, knowing that his king will give honour to his memory, as was promised.
I think he knew that was the mechanism, but not that they were trapped in terror.
Nic loathes them, so he’s okay with taking their lives, but making them suffer for it is something else to him.

I don’t think Nic new about Dreamer at all… Not until recently.

Then again, he did say he would “save [himself]” with the leaf. Maybe he meant that to mean redeem himself.
