You know I’d give Scott massive bonus points if Alex says “Excalibur, be my Strength!” as he runs Gil through… (King Arthur and the Knights of Justice reference)
Oh! I thought he was being immensely stupid, but Gil has his back to Alex! He doesn’t see that brother two is on his feet and ready to run him through with Excalibur from behind!
He’s in for a surprise.
This also explains why Dan was monologuing. He was telling Alex what to do.
The only twist I see happening is that Gilgamesh will have to pull a King Arthur and stay between realms. Nic or Merlin may know how to keep him there. Also, what happens if the swords intersect?
I hope that Dan cutting Gilgamesh’s speech of invincibility off doesn’t give him time to realize what Alex is about to do and dodge. I’m hoping that Gilgamesh being struck, fatally, by the sword causes a disruption of the Nightmare Beasts, allowing the others to free themselves.
Apparently, we must apologize to Dan. We were telling him he’s stupid saying it out loud because Gilgamesh will realize it as well, but apparently he’s cleverly saying it in way Gilgamesh will not realize it until too late.
… sure, it’s only because Gilgamesh is even stupider than we though, but see, Dan recognized it in advance.
If Alex stays behind to be King of Dreamland, he could end the whole human king taking care of Earth and Dreamland thing. His children and descendants would be part human, possibly being enough for the human king stipulation that I think exists?
Hubris…the downfall of many. It creates its own brand of stupidity in that the victim, so sure he is unbeatable, is slow (or just plain unwilling) to accept the reality in which failure is possible.
Don’t chortle, Gil. The other shoe has yet to drop.
Backstab! Critical hit! That means 8 times more damage!
Am I the only one that wants the eye to open and taunt Gil?
That eye reminds me of BOOK from ‘Hocus Pocus’. But I prefer the sword over the book, at least it is connected to the good guys.

I think the bubble in the first frame needs to say, “Two swords of kings” or maybe “The swords of two kings” or “Two kingly swords.”
I agree with Pablo about the first panel.
And Gilgamesh just told them how to defeat him, so why is he standing around letting them do it?
Galactic Overlords. They never read the manuals first.
I was thinking “Two swords of king” (similar to two sisters-in-law), but it’s also not sounding right. Maybe two swords of the king…?
Really surprised at Gil, still seeing himself as unbeatable. Unless he has another card up his sleeve for such occasions. Go for it, Alex!
Cue Alex charging from behind!
Since each blade is the Sword of Kings, the plural of two such blades would be the Swords of Kings, i.e., “Two Swords of Kings!”

Watch.
It’s not gonna work.

Alex shanks him from behind, all is silent when the sword’s eye opens and let’s out a Nelson “HA HA”

Never cross the streams!!
I agree. Just “two sword” alone feels like the grammatical equivalent of nails on a chalkboard
To be fair, you could just consider it as Dan misspeaking in the heat of the moment.
I recall what it took to dispatch Le Chuck in “Tales of Monkey Island.”
Looks like Gilgamesh took the disad of Supreme Overconfidence.
All that monologuing and Gilgamesh STILL didn’t get it?
Gil is not the sharpest tool in the shed right now.

Is Alex king of the earth?
… because he’s about to be impaled by the sharpest tool in the shed…

Didn’t he already explain this? Gil is really dense.
you know it’s funny, i read another comic where Gilgamesh was just a kid.
What about Dan and Nicole’s children?
But it’s not a blood thing. The next kind is just chosen. It’s not inherited.
The way you could get the current grammar to work is give an anime twist to it.
Dan’s calling out the attack. “Pikachu! Use Two Sword of Kings!”
*Spoiler alert.*
It was super effective.
He’s not my king.
