i feel like this page needs a conclusion. he’s summing this all up as a reason for him to stay and do something for all of them in return… but he doesn’t say it. a “so I’m coming with you” of sorts is required on this page in my opinion.
previous page was ‘stubborn’ and this is logical thinking leading to …….. 😉
my point.
ok, I admit last page I was like “Alex you foolish meatbag, don’t be unreasonable” but this page I feel like he’s matured and actually understands the risks involved in his actions.
yep. Alex has grown and matured since the start of his return to dreamland. He’s telling Nastajia he isn’t about to take a back-seat for her desire to keep him safe. He came to help her and protect /her/ – not that she needs protecting. but he is a young impetuous man who’s in love.
Nastajia fought like a hellcat in the Nightmare Realm. It was beautiful, even when her CGI blood looked like melted bacon.
Mature move, Alex, just don’t do anything reckless and stupid in the future. Don’t go punching Nick’s other horn off in revenge for banishing you from Dreamland and bringing Dan in. You’ll turn your fist into gory goo.
Imagining myself in Nastajia’s shoes, I’m probably like “um… yeah…. I fought so hard just to be with you….” and wondering if I should admit that at the time I was in pure survival mode and Alex was nowhere on my mind. I was just wondering what to do with my broken bow and bleeding side… Did I fail as a gf? D:
Such is the difficulty when reading one-page-a-day webcomics. Sometimes there are a couple of pages that flow into each other and it leaves the first “standalone” page feeling incomplete.
Yeah…I’m with you on that admission. When you consider that everyone else is risking their lives, it does seem silly to say “but lets put this one person behind the lines to be safe”…especially when said person isn’t even (technically) an important figure anymore. Their arguments might have made sense if Alex was still the King (though he’d have ignored them even more in that case).
He’s getting better. Although, I thought Nastajia went into the Nightmare Realm in the fight against Abaddon and to save Dreamland, not necessarily just to get to Alex?
No one wondering when he will screw it up?
I’m afraid he does it all for the right reason and finally comes to share it with everyone, but will fail miserably in the end with a bad comment.
Ordinarily I would agree with you. I’m a big Alex supporter. However…
Right now he’s worse than useless. He’s a guy with no practical combat skills, no battle experience that doesn’t involve his super-powers, talking about going with skills, seasoned combatants or people whose very nature gives them extraordinary capability in a fight.
As much as I hate to say it, he’s done what he was supposed to do: deliver the McGuffin. Now he’s done. Anything he does past this is a liability.
So ends the Age of King Alex. Long Live God-King Daniel!
I wholeheartedly agree with you, except for one tiny thing.
He still has the legendary sword, Excalibur at his side. He only sent up the sheath.
He miiiiight stand a chance, maybe. (well he wont die because he’s a main character and has plot armor, but….)
It would be amusing if they made him stay safe anyway.
After all, you’re completely right. He really stands no chance like the rest of them do.
Stirring speech time.
Who wants to see Alex proposing marriage to Nastajia???

that’s probably tomorrow’s page 😉

He definitely turned this from what looked like a “it’s about ME” moment into a “it’s about US” moment. Nice work Alex!

LOL…this is probably true to some degree. 🙂

LOL, Alex sounds a little full of himself.
def not until the end.
Oh, he’s good. It’s going to be hard for them to refuse to let him go into danger after this.
I wonder if there’s some way they can increase his odds, though. He’s still got Excalibur; that’s not nothing.
No one wondering when he will screw it up?

So our friend Alex is finally grown up and thinking about things as a King should! It’s about time!
And now it is time to kiss de girl.

Today, we celebrate, our independence day!….oh sorry, wrong speech

Glad to see that it seems like he is maturing!
Oh, he usually comes through. He is one heck of a warrior, after all. 🙂
Personally, I think he’s helping them realize that he isn’t without “superpowers”, even if he is in Dreamland in his fully physical form.
