If my mythology readings over the decades tell me true, Alex has made a one way trip and the price he pays for his impulsiveness will be to be bonded permanently to the sword for as long as he lives, and to replace the dying Nicodemus as advisor to the King of Dreamland. Part of his long term obligation will be to teach and train his successor in the Advisor function. To his probable teenage horror, he will have to become wise.
Well…now to see if he’s got the magic herb of immortality or if he managed to toss it back to Oberon and Titania before he jumped into the portal (I’m going with magic herb is back in Dreamland where it can cause problems again).
Uh-oh… he’s dead. Aw, shame… game over, man!
He is not dead. A dead man would not float on his back with a heavy sword on his belt. The glow shows the scabbard is keeping him alive and floating.
Don’t just stand there gawping. Get him outa there.

….or maybe he’ll be Dan’s go-to mercenary for any nightmare issues. hah.
Sorry I just can’t envision Alex being the “advisor” type.
“He’s only mostly dead…,” says Miracle Max. 😉
I knew it was Alex!!! 😉
Congratulations! You’re today’s winner of the internet!
Love how the water is done in the third panel.
Also, no way would any part of soaked clothes be above water.
I can see Alex becoming Dan’s knight.
It’s gorgeous!
Well he may be no good for advising for the first century or two of maturing, but I’m sure EVENTUALLY he’d get there. XD
“He’s not merely dead,
He’s really most sincerely dead.”
how fortunate he’s floating face up 😀
Whew! Glad they found him!
… and married to a certain princess…
You rush a miracle, you get a lousy miracle

uh-oh…. o.o looks like he didn’t make it!
Nope, the elves got it: http://thedreamlandchronicles.com/comic/page-1894/
Alex learns that he can’t return to Earth and so he’s stuck in Dreamland with Nastajia.
Alex:Well I guess I’m stuck here.
(Nastajia is holding his right hand)
Alex:No matter what happens,it’ll be the two of us.
Nastajia lowers his hand near her belly
Nastajia:Make that the THREE of us!!!(whimsical smile crossed her face.)
Cue Alex freaking out. 🙂
Somehow I don’t see God-King Daniel needing a knight… or an army… or much of anyone, really.
I’m still hedging my bet that all that PHENOMENAL COSMIC POWER goes to his head, and he becomes the new Big Bad to tease us with at the very end.
Well… he’s physically there in Dreamland, so there’s absolutely no indicator he’s going to live any longer than a normal human would.
Dan can’t be asleep all the time. Alex can act on his behalf in Dreamland while he’s awake.
