Two elves just carried a mermaid through the living room. Nothing to see here folks. Everything is totally normal. Pay no mind to the rug-monster, he’s decorative!
There’s been some delightful speculation in the comments of yesterday’s page. My money is on Gilgamesh, but others have brought up several alternatives that could be interesting…
The BATHTUB is just down the hall and to the left… it looks like he’s leading them outside… if he is, why are people so DENSE? Gonna wet her down with a garden hose or something? Pah!
I was wondering about that too.
Yesterday I was thinking, ‘hm, can she stay outside water for long?’ Answer we get today is saying no.
Next, does it need to be seawater?
Nicole has seen Nivivienne before right? Did she completely miss she was talking to mermaid, even though Felicity and Alex and Nastajia were all mermaids/merman too?
Remember she was looking through the Portal / down into the pond at them, and they were looking through the Portal / up at her. She could see their faces, but their hindquarters were further back and not as noticeable.
Besides, I think she only had eyes for Felicity.
As to her incredulity, consider that it’s one thing to see a mermaid in Dreamland, quite another to see on on Earth. Abaddon, Elves, mermaids: The barriers between the worlds are getting porous.
I hope the chlorine in the water doesn’t bother her much. The fluoride, either.
Getting her through the door can’t be easy, given that tail. Oberon must have to turn and walk sideways. I suppose she passed out before she could cast the spell to adapt to air breathing / walking on land.
Depends if she needs the water just for keeping scales wet or if she actually need to breathe it. In the second case, they better get it right on first try or prepare healing magic.
I think that even before passing out she simply didn’t had enough magic left to cast the spell. Remember that she used all magic to get those two items through the portal.
She has a rare medical condition called Sit-Com-Mom-ism. She is completely unable to perceive her children or their shenanigans til it’s either dramatically or comically relevant, then appears suddenly with the live audience going “Oooo!” or laughing as appropriate.
You know, I like Alex, I really do. But this was my first thought when he pulled her out of that pool…how does he know that this won’t kill her? He doesn’t. But typical Alex doesn’t give any thought to the repercussions of his actions on others. Makes it hard to keep liking him.
Well it’s not like he realized that it would cause a massive explosion that would destroy the lake. As far as he knew, Niviene could’ve lived just fine there.
Either Niviene is too weak to cast the adaptation spell to grow legs, or Merlin was the one to grant her legs when he taught her to pass through the portal (and they then became lovers). As expected, King Oberon is quite strong. Perhaps he and Queen Titania can cast the spell or grant her the power to do so. As to bringing her from the pool to the house, they need to give the pot to Dan and fill him in and they cojld not leave Niviene there alone and vulnerable to Abbadon. They will know what to do with the beast in Dan’s room, if it still lives. (They had to have seen it.) Placing Niviene in the bathtub so she can soak in water will help her recover her strength.
Right. And he was wrong. Because he doesn’t consider any possibilities except what he wants. He’s young and stupid. I get it. I would expect he would mature over time and hopefully when he’s older, he will understand that his actions have repercussions to others.
He did say “sorry” as he pulled Nivene out… so he might not have known exactly what would happen, but he gleaned enough from the conversation with Nivene that it’s not going to be something Nivene would want. So he knows there’s repercussions. But he did it anyway. ‘Cuz you know, for love.
Not sure which is worse, ignorance or selfishness. And I understand the people who think there’s nothing wrong with Alex putting his love above others. It’s a version of the classic train track question. And in this case, Nivene might not have been able to escape the nightmare beasts without Alex’s stupid intervention anyway. But still, Alex is probably not ready to be any type of ruler with this kind of decision making priorities.
YOU WERE JUST AT A POND!! DID SOMETHING HAPPEN TO IT?! I AM SO CONFUSED!!!
Seriously? Gonna leave us hanging on the Dreamer’s true name?
Aaaaand the Abaddon monster wakes up.

The pond blew up. Were you not paying attention?

Sonds like a perfectly normal day here 🙂
Does it need to be salt water????
The BATHTUB is just down the hall and to the left… it looks like he’s leading them outside… if he is, why are people so DENSE? Gonna wet her down with a garden hose or something? Pah!

And crawls off to sob in a dark corner because nobody pays any attention.
It’s not easy to be an evil monster whose usefulness for the plot ran out.
Uhm, they’re in Dan’s room. Why would his room end up outside?
Exactly what I was thinking! Haha.
Nicole has seen Nivivienne before right? Did she completely miss she was talking to mermaid, even though Felicity and Alex and Nastajia were all mermaids/merman too?
“Oh btw, Dan, your brother just dove back into Dreamland and has destroyed the portal, oh and he is maybe dead, hopefully MOSTLY dead.”
Upon coming to in a bathtub, Nievene angrily mutters something about “foolish boys” and “misguided love for elven royalty.”
Remember she was looking through the Portal / down into the pond at them, and they were looking through the Portal / up at her. She could see their faces, but their hindquarters were further back and not as noticeable.

Called it!!!! 🙂

well OK then!
Is Dan and Alex’s mom out of town or just a REEEAALLLLY heavy sleeper?
This is why you don’t store your high explosives next to the lady who distributes swords as a basis for government rule.
Either way, we’ve still seen worse.
Poor Nicole, “What the heck have I gotten myself into? Is all this fantasy nonsense worth a boyfriend?”
“oh. a mermaid now. Excellent. . . . . . .where’s that whiskey?!”
Maybe he and Alex can go hang out.
“It matters not, for I am STILL all-powerful while in Dreamland! He shall not thwart mah pla—”
(ahem)
“I mean… bathroom is down the hall, on the right.”

😀 lol

Gilgamesh (or whatever real king the character was based on) is believed to have lived around 2800 BC. That more or less fits.
Well it’s not like he realized that it would cause a massive explosion that would destroy the lake. As far as he knew, Niviene could’ve lived just fine there.
Gilgamesh maybe?

Nice reference. Have an internet cookie.
