I know these pages are supposed to show how much Alex cares about Nastajia. And I know it’s quite normal for people who thinks they’re about to lose a loved one to become irrational and selfish… but I can’t help being frustrated by Alex’s behavior >< Niviene already said she only has enough magic to pass over the items. She can't even portal herself over. What makes him think she can portal someone into Dreamland, which I don't think she's succeeded before even at her best? And she already told him like 3 times that they're in a rush. Take the items first, then ask follow-up questions. At this rate, he's going to be the downfall of Dreamland, which would include further endangering his beloved Nastajia.
I hope Nastajia's parents steps in to make him see this.
To me, that look says “I can, but I won’t because it’s a terrible idea.” She said she had only enough power left to send those two items across. There’s really reason for her to be lying about that so even if she could bring Alex over, she probably wouldn’t have enough power to send both or maybe not even one of the artifacts to safety. That would put Alex AND those artifacts right in Abbadon’s path.
I think she’s lying when she says “impossible”, but I agree with her reasoning if that’s the case.
Assuming she has time or the ability to change her tune at all. Alex needs to take those items from her before Abaddon arrives…and if she only has the strength left to pass him two items, why would she have the strength to turn around and bring a living being back the other direction? And I kind of got the impression that the portal was a one-way kind of thing from the last time it was used. 🙁
I dunno. I kind of feel like she’d have brought Merlin’s body through the portal and shared the immortality herb with him if that had been a possibility. Instead, his physical body was placed inside a tree while his spiritual body was left under the protection of the Guardians. I thought her facial expression was more one of frustration…a kind of “we don’t have time for this nonsense” look.
Impossible is only what we have dared to do yet! Alex’s power and magic come from his love, he just has to believe and he will be made worthy! (Of course she would be mad, she failed at it herself)
