Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the complexity of the Seraphopopolopians now that they are HAND DRAWN?
THOSE WINGS O_O
(no dig meant to you Scott, I’m sure they were plenty complex as CG models too, but since I understand hand drawing more than computers, welp…)
I wonder if the first speaker is the same guy who braced up Felicity with some subtle sass when she wavered about trying to get through the pyramid. If so, I rather like him; he seems a right sort. 🙂
Those were not only reruns … since Tracy would have held the helm, it was a fitting decision to let her redraw the entire chapter from the beginning. I think that was a good decision, even in order to let her (and us, the readers) familiarize a bit with character design.
I still marvel at how good she is to render the original feeling that CGI tables inspired. GG tracy ! And now, on with the show … 🙂
Oh my gosh, I loved the “Egyptian” uniforms and mechanical wings before when they were CG, I didn’t think I could love them anymore yet here we are. Those are gorgeous.
Looking at the CGI page, I think she was trying to recreate the shadows that were on everyone in the scene. But the CGI shadows weren’t as distinct as what she’s drawn.
I think you’re mistaken http://thedreamlandchronicles.com/comic/page-1511/
You can look through the thinnest layer of wings, though it seems more transparent in this style, I guess. And also the shadows of the trees make it seem more transparent.

I wondered if Tracey traced over the original 3D comic or not???
Hear, HEAR!!!
Is this the first of the new comics? I can’t quite recall…

No this was still in the CGI as well
I think Monday’s (or possibly Tuesday’s) will be the last of the cgi pages.
I’ve appreciated these reruns. It had been too long, and I’d forgotten nearly everything that happened most recently in the comic.

It looks like the background layer was placed over the figures instead of behind. I do not remember the wings being transparent.
Just went and looked at the CGI pages. 3 more after this one, so we should get a new page on Thursday!

They were trying to make the wings look like stained glass it seems.
