Well…they have a point, but I have to respect that Alex’s primary concern is Nastajia’s safety…and that he grasps how waiting only increases the likelihood that she will be beyond help.
Rushing head long in to combat can be a good thing and lissening to reason is also one. I do know chasing after a loved one shows a willingness to risk your life but what is the end going to be. She is a big girl and can take care of herself as she has showed for years. Got to love head strong young women. But remember Dreamland is at stake if you make the wrong choice.
Well, as long as he doesn’t put the necklace on and go to sleep, Dan can wait. Alex is the one who might conceivably be about to do something desperate to try to reach Dreamland. Trying to talk him down is the immediate need, and I think Titania and Oberon understand his character enough to realize it might take both of them. And if he DOES find a way back to Dreamland, they’ll probably want to go, too…
Being a little HARSH on Dan, there, aren’t you, Alex?
He’s obviously heading for Niviene. Has anyone told him the last time they saw the Lady of the Lady she was going down under a press of Nightmare Realm creatures?
Not yet. I think this is his irrational, immature fool lashing out phase before he grows up. Hence why Nastajia’s parents have broken away from where they should be (counsel to the impromptu king Dan) and are pleading with Alex.
I don’t see “talking him down” as a good thing. War is starting and people need to work quickly. It would be best for the royal couple to split up to lend aid to both halves of the brother team. Dan needs to plan and Alex go into action, as they do best. Now is not the time to discuss non-essentials like who’s in charge. Alex does need to get back to Nastajia, and not just because she needs him. The Nightmare realm needs a huge distraction from their immediate plans for invasion.
Interesting point! Alex might be hoping for an ambush by the Nightmare Realm creatures. He can beat them up, then threaten the last one into revealing to him how they get from the Nightmare Realm to Earth and back.
I do see your point, but I do agree with Nicole below… all along, Alex has been saying he doesn’t want to be King, shrugging off responsibility and now he is finally ready to stand up.
I think we already learned that Dreamland cannot be entered through Niviene’s pool. Merlin had to go on vision quests in order to spend time in Dreamland with her. Yes, the Dan was given Excalibur via that pool, but Niviene uses a great deal of magic to cross (either herself or other objects) between worlds. There seems to even be a time limit to how long she can maintain the one-way portal…I don’t think that Alex will be able to cross over that way. He’ll need Merlin or a trip to Egypt for the Earth-side portal.
We already know that several of the Nightmare beasties were left Earth-side back when the portals were taken out of commission in Ramses time…so that’s where some of them came from. As for the working portal between the realms…well we’ve been told it’s in Egypt, so that’s where the invasion force will come from.
wow! is Alex finally growing up?!?

Awesome last panel btw! 🙂 Epic Alex is EPIC!

Good luck Alex
I’m surprised at least one of them didn’t stay behind with Daniel, who’s just been newly appointed as king of Dreamland.
convergence …

On the bright side at least if somebody spots him with that sword they can all claim to be Ren Faire folk. Tis the season down here. =)
Dark foreshadowing. >:P

Good on you Alex Prove to them that King or not your going to do the right thing
I was wondering what Alex was up to since we last saw him!
So,should the shadow wraiths lay an ambush or the so-called “legion?”
What about Dan,will he try the necklace?
And into shadow I go.
I think he is going to the mermaid, I did forget her name, trying to use the portal to enter Dreamland?
Dan did get the sword through that portal 😉
Scott: Why are you so awefully good at cliffhangers! 😛
I love it 😀 😀

DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!

Agreed. I don’t see this as immature on his part. Any of us would tear down mountains if our loved ones were threatened.
Win!

Yes, listen to reason Alexander! Just because there’s a sale at Macy’s doesn’t mean you have to buy everything in the store!
He’s only acting responsible when he’s no longer responsible?
That sounds about right for him!
Yes! Embrace your anger, Alex!
Come to the Dark Side!
