As much as I’ve enjoyed reading this comic over the years, the recent batch of pages has been dreadfully dull and predictable. What gives? I’ll be glad to be proven incorrect, but the amount of extra exposition and side commentary has really dampened the sense of excitement and anticipation I had in earlier chapters.
I mean this constructively, Scott, but I get the impression that you believe you need to carefully explain everything that’s going on, perhaps because you aren’t confident that the art and script are doing an adequate job. Please reconsider! This comic was much more fun when it wasn’t as clear how things would turn out.
Just my two cents as a long-time reader and first-time commenter.
Felicity: Klaatu Barada Nikto! No, not it… Xyzzy! Nope, not that either… damn! Dreamland is in danger and I’m trying to my duty for Dreamland’s king! I need the incantation to awaken Merlin. Oh! They’ve stopped. Ooh, they’re bowing! Riiiiiight… you, can you go and get the last Tablet of Pendragon? Goody! And you… lie down so I can have a proper look at you… mmm… you may only be a statue, but you’re truly the finest hunk of stone I’ve ever laid eyes on… :-3
Very good point, Matt. And you’re absolutely right.
I’m dealing with a lot of outside things at home (nothing bad…good actually) and I’ve felt over these last few weeks that Dreamland hasn’t been given the time needed for each page.
I may be overcompensating with the blogs. For that I apologize and hope you’ll bear with me a bit longer.
And who didn’t expect Felicity to have forgotten the incantation? I just hope she’ll remember before she gets diced up!
Nah… she’ll just mumble a lot and insist she said it. 🙂
I swear if the incantation really is Klaatu Barata Nikto I’m going to throw this computer out the window XD
Maybe a coded variant, like “Otkin Aratab Utaalk” or “Xynngh Onengn Avxgb.”
Abra kadabra.
oo ee oo ah ah
ting tang walla walla bing bang
Klatu. Verata. Nic- (cough cough cough).
There. I said it.
Well I hope that she’ll be able to recall it! Or else Felicity is a goner….!
typical. if the fate of dreamland is resting in her hands, they are all doomed.
Mecca lecca hi, mecca hiney ho!

Didn’t she write the incantation on her left wrist?
Or the palm of her hand?

You pretty well called that one!
