Alex, Alex, Alex, I admire your dedication to the love of your life and desire to prove yourself worthy of her to parents. Really, I do.
BUT, assuming Nico is not exaggerating if you don’t help him there will be no Ashendel to return her to. So I think it would be wise to make sure she has a home to go to first, then bring her there. Oh, and it wouldn’t hurt to save ALL of Earth *AND* Dreamland in the process.
Nic DOES have a point. Of course the mention of Nastajia’s parents should give him pause, with all the possible implications. But Nic could argue that unless they act immediately, there may not be an Ashendel to bring her back to, shortly. Or he might get her back there just in time to see the place overrun and destroyed by the Nightmare Realm. It all depends on how level a head he can keep while dealing with this… thick… human.
“Nicodemus is an ass. What makes him wiser than the Elven king and queen?” They don’t know what he does, if they did they might agree. But Nic’s plan might not be best, best plan may be to contact everyone else including his brother.
eee makes a good point. I wonder if Nic is paying enough attention to pick up on the mention of Nastajia’s parents. This is so good. So many story pieces coming together here in the last few pages. =)
He is also several millennia older than they are and has been the primary counsel to the royalty of Dreamland, essentially prime minister in their waking absence, and then ruler of Dreamland. He has had access to all of the libraries and institutions of Dreamland and the Nightmare Realm as well (apart from those of Seraphopolis).
On one hand, I agree with Nic. But true love and whatnot aside, Alex is pretty much lost without Nastajia just as he is lost without Dan and Nicole in the waking world. To put it another way, would you leave things up to Scooby if you knew that the rest of the gang wasn’t supporting?
Ouch, in the third panel, are those scars on Nic’s hand? That one next to his nail looks painful.
Great details Scott, it must’ve taken a great deal of Nicodemus to even ask Alex to help him.
These panels (especially no3 and no4) is sooo LOL!!!
Nic is trying desperately to convince Alex that there is a greater evil requiring immediate attention and Alex is telling him…what? “I love Nastajia and I have to return her to her home”…He can’t even realise that if Abbadon truimph there will be no Ashendel, no Dreamland, no “Wakeland”.
Also I have to notice that Nic’s grip on Alex neck is so weird funny!!!!
Nic’s giant claws and Alex tiny neck….Nic could easily break Alex’s neck but he just grab him, give him a good shake to restore Alex’s brain in the right position!
Yeah…what LazerWulf said. But Exxos does have a point that Alex is kind of lost without Nastajia…goodness knows her involvement would be helpful in fighting an invasion. This is really a tough decision. I mean, “the greater good” would be to say “Sorry Nastajia, but I have to make sure there’s a home for you to return to”…but how cold would that be?? And who’s to say that Nastajia will still be there to find and rescue if he doesn’t go to her now? We don’t know if she’s even noticed those skeleton things yet. 🙁
I think Alex needs to say “Yes, I’ll help you fight Abaddon…but we’ll need Nastajia’s help, so can you help me find and rescue her first?”
Alex needs to convince Nic that they have to rescue Nastajia first. I would love to see her face if all of a sudden Alex comes flying in while riding Nic. Now THAT is a finewarrior entrance, riding a dragon!
I just don’t trust Nicodemus. He would kill Alex as easily as use him (as he wants to do now). He doesn’t care about Alex or Nastajia or Earth. He cares about Dreamland conceptually and that’s it! He cares about keeping Dreamland in place so that he can rule it. So his motives will never be pure.
Is it up yet?
Yeah!!!! First comment!!!!
Nicodemus CAN sure make a point! 😉
I thought he would’ve had a better reason than that.
I mean about Alex when he said that he can’t.

Well, for one, Titania and Oberon don’t know about the impending invasion.

Congrats, Scott, the first panel genuinely startled me.

Nicodemus is a great villain, so well written and convincing, and that first panel! You can literally fell his shock/dismay, nicely done Scott. ^_^
I learnt about this comic a few weeks ago and I couldn’t stop reading. Good job Scott!!
Thank you Alexandria!
Thank you!
🙂
Thanks!

I like how Nicodemus, like Dick Cheney, snarls out of the side of his mouth.
And here we see Nic’s love for his world. Passion drives this beast to extremes, all for Dreamland’s welfare.

Welcome to the party! 🙂
You tell ’em, ya big gecko! Alex seriously needs a plan!
Welcome!

Indeed, that would be awesome!

I strongly agree with this story development!
