I have to admit… more Nastajia’s aren’t necessarily a BAD thing.
🙂
But she never really was the Damsel in Distress…was she?

Hopefully Alex will figure that out and not be bothered by the weird “weak” Nastajia they are portraying…though the “girl power” fiend in me definitely would love it if an arrow pierced a couple of them (the monsters) in the next frame…followed by Nastajia landing next to Alex saying, “I truly hope that’s not how you picture me, Alexander.”
That looks amazing!
Yeah, i love this statement.
“But she never really was the Damsel in Distress…was she?”
– Exactly. If Alex has any sense (debatable at times, I know), he’ll be able to use that to separate the illusion from reality.
PS. Love it!
By now, Alex should realize that these images of Nastajia, and her deaths, are ONLY A DREAM. After all, he is a grown-up, not a child.
And thus, he can ignore it all… and get back to what he was just doing. B-D
ALTHOUGH… If Nastajia is in his way, he cannot just “slash through her”, because then these evil critters WILL put the REAL Nastajia in his way…and THEN *Shloffs!* he will break, for sure.
That WOULD be nice. Except… Nastajia is currently being drug through the skies of the Nightmare Realm, taken to the Chimera. She can’t fly on her own. And there are probably too many NR creatures around her for her to fight her way loose. All these illusions are a distraction and the longer Alex falls for it, the father away the real Nas gets. He needs to remember all this. Particularly since they’re giving him an opening, pulling this trick: They’ve stopped fighting him and the way is clear, he could be up and after Nas like a speeding bullet. If he’d just think of it.
“Help me, Alex-Wan Kenobi. You’re my only hope.” *bzzt*
These nightmarish folks must be retired old school psychotherapists.
Indeed!!! ^_^
It was believable at first, because she wasn’t acting like a wilting flower afraid to bloom, but this illusion is rather less subtle. I do hope he figures it out soon, and if not, that Staj gives him a proper scolding later! 😛
Also, awesome second panel Scott. “Save Me… Please…” is beautifully portrayed in the respective Nastajia’s expressions.
As the chief in grim stated in the last episode as the crazy artist in the jail inched towards the gun Nick dropped. “Stone faced : “Really”. I say Alex should play it like Nelson in Taken…. I will fine you and when I do I will Kill you -_-
Yep, Nastajia isn’t your “damsel-in-distress” type. Should something inside Alex drive him insane or just lunge past the illusions?
duuuuuude… we all know alex won’t fall for it.
but how long we to itch to smack him upside the head is another story… x-D
“But she never really was the Damsel in Distress…was she?”
This. Wherever the real one is, she’s fighting, not whining like these illusions.. and Alex should know that :p
I have to say, I love Alex’s face in panel 1.
I think you handled the situation well, in establishing that Nastajia was an illusion. And you did it without blood and gore, too! Way to go!
Oh I know. 🙂 I just wish that could have happened. 😛
Oh good…I didn’t post that comment when I saw the page, but it was the only thing I could think while I tried to construct a different, less nerdy comment. 😛
