Duh!
What DID you think???
Apparently royalty has NO meaning to anyone in my books. I really need to start showing more respect to royalty in my books.

That one gave me the chuckles. And no, do me a favour and don’t do that. If they can’t take it, they ain’t worth royality, whoever them “royals” be. Besides, these two are supposed to be his in-laws, so what?
I DO like this.
stay safe
Yay, Dan talks 🙂
I hope we see more of him soon.
No, I seriously squeed when Dan got a line. He’s my favorite.
Also, Oberon’s Eyes are fantastic. I just want to stare into them forever, lol.
Royalty isn’t an American thing. Its not hard wired in us to cowtow to anyone. I think both Alex and Dan’s reactions are right in character 🙂
That has been one of my concerns through this whole story. There have been a lot of tongue in cheek comments occurring throughout. i.e. when visiting Seraphopolis.
But it’s still funny and I vote that Scott invoke artistic license.
They’re teenagers. Since when did teenagers respect ANYBODY?
I have only one think to say, sleep Alex, sleep … as fast as you can. 😉
We thought she’d stay at the castle! We left pizza rolls! PIZZA ROLLS, ALEXANDER!
Okay, I had a chuckle at this. 😀
Yes it seems Sava has no respect for elven royalty! 😉
Now Alex needs to get back to Nastajia and tell her what just happened now!
But aren’t they all really royalty? Dan is the true king of dreamland, his brother acting king. That would mean they could pretty much talk to each other any way they wanted.
Well Alex sorta grew up with them as second parents in a way… I think it’s okay if he doesn’t treat them as royalty when he sees them for the first time in years. As for any other examples, I’m Cool with it. 😀
Respect for royalty is kinda forced nowadays. It’s arguable to most whether there is even a point to it in the modern age. (Most can see that behind it all they are still people)
But yeah, keep it. There’s no taboo you’re breaking in my eyes. But I AM just one guy…
I wouldn’t expect the boys to show any more or less respect for royalty given that they’re Americans…and (as Dirt Calls Me Dad pointed out) they’re both royalty after a fashion as well.
Now…the ones who need to “show more respect for royalty” in this comic IMO are the royals themselves. They seem to have no concern for the importance of their position, and throw themselves into dangerous situations with little to no backup, potentially leaving their kingdoms without a ruler…and they wonder how Nicodemus managed to take over the whole of Dreamland. *shakes head* Kids these days. 😛
me too 😀
seriously! Captain don’t you join the away team, leave the first officer for that!
I doubt Alex would show any more respect for Oberon and Titania than he would for anyone who are Nas’ parents. After all, last time he saw them he was a kid, and it’s hardly as if he’s had much chance to learn proper etiquette towards royals.
And technically, THEY should be the ones deferring to HIM as King of Dreamland.
Also, what the heck DID Oberon think his daughter would do? Maybe he doesn’t know her as well as he should.
And Alex is taller than they are. 🙂
I was going to comment… Then I read all the other awesome comments and had trouble coming up with something to say that wouldn’t be a re-hashing.
So instead I’ll just say, “what they said!” and smile.
I’m really enjoying this chapter (as I enjoy most… but finding Nastajia’s parents is great! Now back to save Nastajia!)
AHAHA. *wipes tear * that was beautiful
This is a fun scene!
I’m the same way. Dan has really grown on me.
Yay! Finally Alex sees Nastajia’s parents… I can’t wait to see where the plot goes!
Also, I’ve always seen Elves as rather less stuffy and formal in some ways. Their royals are more casual, in ways that, say, the Dwarves would never accept.
I’m not entirely surprised Nastajia’s parent’s have a hard time picturing their daughter traveling to the Nightmare Realm to find them. It’s been some time since they saw her last. She’s had to do a lot of growing up in rather a hurry, and they haven’t been around for that. For that matter, “little Alex” has to take some adjusting on their part. Daniel not so much since they hadn’t met him previously. Lots of catching up here.
I can see another problem here too. Alex is going to be too wired to get back to sleep right away.
I think the Centaurs taught him some quick-sleeping tricks maybe? Or was that for waking up on command?
