Page 894…
I’m back from Heroes Con!
What a wonderful time I had. Here’s a quick rundown since it’s late and I just drove 7 hours home.
The drive (both ways) was great. I went by myself. Last time…the whole family went. It was good. But hearing “are we there yet” every five minutes got a bit annoying.
So this year I took “daddy’s car” and just CRUISED! The Hemi PUUUUURRRRREEEED the whole way. And thank GOD no state troopers were on the road as I flew by at completely unlawful speeds.
WHen I got there on Thursday…I set up the booth. Complete with the new backdrops.
So nice!
I had Dinner with Lora Innes (The Dreamer) and her lovely friend Asha! We had a great time.
We got ice cream afterwards.
🙂
OWLY creator, Andy Runton stopped by the booth. He brought me an Owly plush.
I owned him for 3 days….until I got home. Donna now has him.
I’ll never see him again.
They had Great Dane adoptions outside. I fell in LOVE with them.
Donna said I could bring one home. But they were really just raising funds. I couldn’t talk them into letting these doggies come home with me.
Sigh…
Danielle Corsetto (Girls With Slingshots) and I had dinner too. *Not work safe link*
She’s a sweetie and we always have a great time. Though I’m only like the WARM UP to her nights at the cons.
Once we’ve had dinner…talked…and such…THEN her nights start. Apparently that’s when all the COOL people come out and party. Once us OLD PEOPLE go to sleep (I was in bed by 10:30 each night).
Danielle gave me this GORGEOUS illustration of Kiwi.
And Paddington got to meet McPedro!
On the way home…I saw this sign.
…I think Batman may not like this.
That’s it. I had a wonderful time. And can’t wait to go back again next year.
But it’s good to be home.
I better be off to bed.
See you guys in the morning.
Scott
Awwe. I’m glad you had fun.
Those pictures are awesome.
Also, Alex/Nastajia: ADORABLE!
They are so cute together it’s crazy!
Heh. Never tell a woman you have no plans for your life or she make some for you.
There’s the Ice Queen I know and love!
LOVE the backdrops! I hope I get to see them in person soon.
And this guy, Alex, got that hot woman … *gg* in his guts he knows what he wants, the head hasn’t adjusted yet. ^^
scott – if you ever plan to come to some CON in Europe, maybe Berlin or Munich – or, best of all, coz that’s my wonderful home city, Vienna – I gonna drop by.
Only 80MPH? Meh, that’s not horribly fast. It’s still under triple-digits. You should have seen some of the lead-foots that blaze through the deserts on the road between Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Five hour drive or so. Personally I just put the cruise control to about 70MPH, get over to the right lane and out of the way of the crazy speedsters, and listen to my CD changer. Smooth sailin’…
80? Pish tosh. My wife drove faster than that meeting my parents for breakfast yesterday in our Equinox.
the batman-cave!!!!!:o great!!!!!
love the new pages
go on like this Scott!!!!!
Oh Alexander, poor him and his early-life crisis. 🙂 Aw come on Alex you destroyed and chances of warm emotions with Nastajia for the rest of the night! Are you happy now? Scott, did you actually drive to the Bat Cave lol? 😀
thanks for sharing your pics! I kinda chuckled at the highway sign hehe..
You do notice that there was no sign for Gotham! -chuckles-
Yeah. I’m waiting for Staj to say “Well here’s what you’re going to do. You’re going to be King and marry me…” and watch Alex faint as she maps out his life for him…
hahaha! Bat Cave! That’s too darn funny. ^_^ Glad you had a good time at the con! And yes, if hubby brought home such a cute stuffed owl, it would be mine and he would never see it again. lol!
Love the page today, poor Alex. Talk about awkward!
Are you saying that the Hemi purred… or pureed?
Ah, now there’s a situation I find myself in… And I’ve lost a couple of incredible, beautiful friends over it. Who knows? I look forward to seeing the resolution for our hero.
Yes it was a GREAT con for me and my family thanks to YOU Scott …. Thanks!
ps. Love the car!
come down to texas Scott!! We have tons of anime conventions and what not around the holiday season, and we have an annual one ever easter weekend!! i’d love it if you could come down here! Keep up the great work =D
Wow, Alex sounds just like MY boyfriend… lol
Where is that exit? That’s so funny 🙂
Nature abhors a vacuum–and so Nastajia will help Alex by planning his life, if he lets her…
Well, at least Alex is honest about it…
LOL! I knew what you were talking about before I saw the picture! The ole Bat Cave sign! We see it every family reunion when we go to Tennessee.
love the sign. Did you go there? You are doing a great job on the comic, keep up the great work. Hope your back it doing good still.
Thanks all!
It’s good to be back.
I’m working hard on more pages. The kids are swimming over at Grandmas.
aw; those photo’s were so cute 🙂
but wow, an actual batcave sign???? that’s SO awesome, wish we had those in Belgium ^^
about the page, I know what he means, I’m 18 and I feel the same way, though my grades are probably a bit better hihi
You can 80 MPH a completely unlawful speed? Sheesh, and the tach’s only at 2k RPM? That thing could hit 120, easy.
Er, *call*. Not “can”.
I hate to be a killjoy, but if I ever see you doing something as stupid as taking photos while driving at 80mph again I’m quitting this comic. Because I don’t care how good it is if it’s drawn by an idiot who’s a danger to himself and others.
Better get some good goals fast Alex. ‘Staj won’t have it any other way…
I feel bad for you… In germany, where I live, we’ve often got NO speed limit at all on the highways and it’s very uncommon to have limits under 65. I like to drive 90 to 100 MPh, that’s really great.
Only bad thing is, that the politicians want to limit the speed at around 80 or 85, because it’d be better for the enviroment…
Poor Alex. People that grew up with direction or guidance in their lives have a hard time understanding those who didn’t.
And glad you’re back, but bummed that you didn’t go take pictures of the bat cave! Back in the car man!
awe. such cute puppies. wonderful night sky. Alex afraid of commiting?
Hi, Scott! I wanted to stop by and say an enthusiastic thank you for the Paddington plush. It was great to meet you at the convention and I have enjoyed reading through volume one of The Dreamland Chronicles. Of course, I had already read the entire archives a few months back, but rereading the story in print really gives a different perspective and pacing on the story which I really enjoyed. Online or in print, The Dreamland Chronicles is a great read and I always look forward to each update.
ACK! What road where you on when you saw the BAT CAVE sign! argh….I must find this!
Going that fast is alright, but making sure that you get a good picture /while/ you are going that fast? :shudder:
For the record…
I was driving down a straight road when taking these pics.
And it’s on my phone.
So I just kept my eyes on the road…and snapped a few shots that I thought would be in the general direction of my guages.
I got one that worked.
No one was in any danger. I promise. I never took my eyes off the road.
Aww, Alex, nobody Ever really knows what they want out of life! You just have to find out on the way!
Glad to hear you had a great time at the con, btw. That sign was hilarious XD
Don’t you hate it when people put pressure on you to find out what you want to do with your life…?
Those are some great pictures! Sounds like you had a good time…=D
You say unlawful speeds when you’re only driving 80? XD You’ve never seen me on the road! I take pictures of the road with my camera a lot. Usually I just keep staring at the road and aim the phone in the general direction that I want it and hope for the best.
Poor Alex … heck, I’m 37, and I *still* don’t know what I want to be when I grow up …
😉
Clear this up for me… did the Hemi Purr? Or puree?
I just realized how Lora looks a lot like her lead character in the comic.
Lol Bat Cave. There’s an exit from I-55 north of St. Louis for ‘White City’. I’ve searched and searched, yet have found no sign of Minas Tirith in that area.
Yup. Hate when they do that.
Used to have ex-girlfriends ask me that. I’d use the same reply every time: “Destroy the world.”
Even if they tried the “No, I mean really” I’d still reply “… Destroy the world.”
Probably one of the reasons they’re all Ex-girlfriends.
