Page 870…
Hey all…
Hope you had a great Monday.
Sorry that the angle of the feather in yesterday’s page made so many people upset.
I got hate mail…crank calls…bomb threats…
It was HORRIBLE.
I’m SO SO SORRY!
๐
Seriously though…thank you guys for pointing it out.
I haven’t changed the angle of the feather (which is tied to Orion’s tail by the way) in yesterday’s page…but I modified it a bit in photoshop for THIS page.
Hopefully you guys can stomach this version OK.
Ha!
ย
Hope you’re enjoying the updates and thanks all for caring so much to let me know when things are off. I had to tease you guys about the feather…but you know I love you.
Have a great day.
Scott
The feather looks much better now ๐ Although to me it simply looked like the feather was part of his tail. But it looks detached now. Yay you =D
For the record, I never noticed the feather yesterday… but now it’s downright hilarious. XD
Can I pokey Alex next? ๐
Rofl just noticed the feather! It looks like it’s coming out of his…*A centaur sneaks up and hits Artemis on head*
Definitely more paletable now. I completely missed it yesterday and oh my. Glad to have you back on 5 day updates but remember, we support you (almost) regardless, so if something comes up again, remember to take care of yourself.
I’d have to agree with sweetsong. I didn’t even notice the feather!! I went back a page, and just started laughing hysterically about it though. Ohhh man. Coming home from working an overnight, and 2 hours of sleep in the past three days… that seriously made my day hahaah.
I donno how you guys are hung up on the feather when there is a small animal trying to swallow his head and he seems unconcerned…
I don’t think I understand the problem with the feather… I didn’t notice it yesterday and it looks fine to me.
OMG! Wolken…how’d I miss that???
Ack!
๐
Hm. I had a feeling that this was a “different” body, but the two must be tied very close together seeing as Alex’s injuries carry over into the “real” world.
So once again, it’s like the Matrix.
Hahahaha! Poor Orion.. he’s trying to be so serious and all we can do is point out the feather sticking out of his butt and the small animal unsuccessfully trying to eat his head. *snort, snicker*
Seriously though, I’m looking forward to watching Alex “learn” to fly. I have a feeling it’s going to be both painful and funny as heck.
The feather just proves Orion’s point. Innocence is lost when people become adults, hehehe.
I never noticed it.
The feather would prolly look better if it was coming out of the middle of his tail, well the hair of his tail i mean, -i think you get the picture- rather than just being stuck to the side of his tail. I can imagine it sort of being braided into his tail rather then just tied to it.
If you look on fridays page it looks even stranger there lol.
Aaaaghh. I managed to ignore the feather but now when I look at Orion I hear “Om! Nom! Nom! Nom! …I can has Centaur-head?”
I didn’t notice the feather either originally, but I agree that normally a feather wouldn’t be so stiff and that it would likely be woven into the tail hairs.
Great stuff this week!
I’m with ChristineA. Can’t wait to see Alex trying to fly. Knowing Scott, it’s going to send me into stitches.
Can I play “Pin the tail on the Centaur?”
Lol! I didn’t notice the feather either, until you said something in the news post! XD
lol Wolken i mentioned the animal like loong ago xD and in the forst panel the zig-zag looks like ‘z’s going downward xD
OMG! i KNEW it! Alex is just dreaming!! xD and he does still have his body on earth! xD
“quotes invader zim” -small purple- sirs we have an incoming call from…E-ARTH?
-Big Red- what’s this E-ARTH you speak of?
xD had to sorry
Hee hee, I noticed the feather yesterday, but I just giggled and kept going. It’s funny that people would take offense to something that was obviously unintentional.
Yay! Invader Zim quotes. my day just got brighter!
It’s not that I’d care about how he looks, hey everyone is free to choose. But I’d still say, that the feather seems to be placed like yesterday.
As normal, I didn’t notice the feather until everyone pointed it out, so yesterdays page to me just looks like he sat on a birdie with a long tail and now it’s. . . . I’m just not gonna finish that thought. . . .
ya’all should stop being culturally insensitive to people that braid feathers into their hair. the only issue at hand here is that the centaurs tail is too short. and the feather is braided in the wrong direction.
Oh come ON! Just fall and forget to land! You wouldn’t be this stupid if you’d picked up a book once in a while! They make GUIDES for things like this, ya know!
If only Alex had his towel and copy of the Guide.
“The Hitchhikerรขโฌโขs Guide to the Galaxy has this to say on the subject of flying. There is an art, it says, or, rather, a knack to flying. The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss. Pick a nice day, it suggests, and try it.”
I find it unintentionally (or maybe not) funny that Orion is poking Alex with a stick.
I didn’t notice the feather until I read your post pointing it out, Scott. After that, it was good for some giggles. I would second the idea of moving the feather a little further down his tail. It doesn’t have to go too far – just far enough that it doesn’t look attached to his butt or weird in a way that I cannot foresee. Also, it might look better if the feather pointed down, as it naturally would.
Unfortunately, the feather still looks like it’s sticking out of his A$$. You really need to work on that. Different placement might be in order for that poor abused feather.
Sorry about the language, but that’s how it is.
Other than that, GREAT COMIC.
yayyyy, he’s finally going to learn how to fly ๐ I just caught up with the last two chapters worth of updates… I need to stop by more often a lot of great stuff is happening ๐
So that’s a feather, OK. I saw that the other day and thought he has somethng tied around that portion of his tail. About the “drawm body”, what happens in dream land affects his sleeping body such as the pirate sword cut on his chin.
looks great scott. I didn’t notice the feather till you said something.
More invader zim quotes
“But, invader’s blood marches through my veins like giant radioactive rubber pants! The pants command me. Do not ignore my veins!”
And my fav Zim quote
GIR: GIR, reporting for duty.
Zim: GIR? What does the G stand for?
GIR: I don’t know. [pauses, then begins screaming and hitting himself]
Zim: Ummm…is it supposed to be stupid?
Tallest Purple: It’s not stupid, it’s advanced!
I’d have to agree with Tom. Totally open to turning into the Matrix… “Do you think that my having more muscles has anything to do with how fast or how strong I am in this place?”
If he can fly, then can he be super strong and just believe that his body in Dreamland can’t be damaged?
I can’t wait to see how all this ends up Scott. Great work!
maybe he needs help from his friends…like the Planeteers. By their powers combined…We summon a crazy genie-like character (named Sumedocin) to carry them wherever they wish!
Alex: What are you trying to tell me? That I can dodge arrows?
Orion: No, Alex. I’m trying to tell you that when you’re ready, you won’t have to.
Oops! Wrong Page.
Radical-Knight ‘the mind makes it real to the body’ -quote from Matrix
Uhh, guys? A little help here… please?
Not too worried about the feather, just wondering where the rest of the bird is,.
looks like someone gave him a good slap on the rear! haha
Your real body is on Earth. Quietly sleeping. No, I mean really REALLY quietly sleeping. In fact, to all scientific tests, you look brain dead.
And the part of Orion will be played by Lawrence Fishburne.
I have to disagree there… an innocent child is not above such an observation at all. XD
Tink Tink. LMAO
Now see, I dunno how normal flight would work… but it probably works similarly to type-1 telekinetic flight. Type-2 telekinetic flight is very different though. My dream-flight is achieved by essentially pushing downwards with my mind (where type-1 would be more like grabbing yourself and lifting up, which seems rather like trying to pick yourself up by the shirt: doesn’t make sense). I usually save energy by essentially air-jumping, but if I push continuously downwards then I will go upwards. It just tends to be rather exhausting doing it that way.
Can’t be helped though. My dream telekinesis doesn’t allow me to pick things up and move them around. It just lets me push and, if I apply inverse force to it, pull. Therefore, if I push the ground away from myself, I move upwards.
Seems like Alex is going to achieve it Nathan Petrelli style, whereas I have to do it Sylar style.
