I didn’t see it coming either… I was saying to myself, “Well now what, self? How will Felicity get caught?”
I of course didn’t answer. Thankfully, this answers that very question to satisfaction. Now I’m geared up for some Nic-timidation… [in a weak attempt to coin a bad punny phrase]
note to self: after geting away, don’t say sh!t about the guards, or you will get shown up.
Ah!!! I thought she fell and died for a sec–I thought the red stuff was blood (Really late at night, no glasses) and I freaked. Then I looked closer, saw Nicodemus’ talon and I freaked out more. Damn him to hell!
I will admit I didn’t see the big man (er, dragon…) himself getting involved, but Fel WAS kind of asking for it. Someone a lot bigger and a lot stronger? If that phrase doesn’t deserve a Murphy-onic backlash, what does?
And it’s interesting… I’ve always used “Nic” as short for both “Nicole” and “Nicodemus” because I felt that the context would be enough to establish which Nic I was talking about, thinking that the two had/would never me(e)t, but now we’ve got both Nics in the same place at the same time. How should we diferentiate? I say we do like Kyon and call one Nic (Big) and one Nic (Little), but that’s just my opinion.
Have fun with the MRI. It’s been years since I’ve had one and I understand they’ve come a long way in the ‘distracting music’ area. When I had mine, the music wasn’t audible over the sound of the machine.
I surely hope you don’t end up with the same ‘after effects’ I did. Of course, it took two years and eight MRIs before they started affecting me adversely, but for a while I actually seemed to carry a magnetic charge that was death to computers.

And the comic’s been great by the way. I didn’t see it coming until she pretty much asked for it in the first couple panels.
My only thought, and I know with rendering this likely isn’t fixable, is that the coloration doesn’t look as natural because it doesn’t follow the scales. [the purple on the red and the yellow palm] If the colors actually followed the scales, instead of bisecting them, it wouldn’t look as artificial. But I do understand that with the rendering, it likely isn’t all that tweekable. Just thought I’d mention.

i agree about the bolding – there is still way too much of it in the comic, and it is a tip-off here, but i still didn’t pick up on it. to which i say to myself, duh!

Silly Question, Are you still planning on coming to the Webcomics weekend in MA? I know you were thinking about it, but I don’t know if you ever actually decided or not. If necessary, I can reduce the cost a bit by providing a couch…although that might not be the best for your back! B-)

If I am out of line then ok I will say no more I dont know if kids read the comments but if they did there is a lot of people use language that I would not want my kids to read. So I am asking please could we try to not use words on here that we would not want to here out of say a seven year old’s mouth.

Being that I’m still dealing with this back issue…I am definitely not at 100% working capacity both physically and mentally. So I’ll definitely take a look at the art for these past weeks once I’m all better. Hopefully soon.

No wonder Nicole grew up to be so cold. This probably traumatized her soooo much.
That made me jump. When I scolled down all I saw was red and Felicity lying on the ground and at first I thought she had been run over by something but then I remembered
“Uh, no. This is a kid’s comic…Scott would not have Felicity run over. There wouldn’t be blood all over the place.”
So I looked again and voila! I saw Nicodemus’s hand/claws.

Haha, saw that on Twitter last night…. Deffinately did not see it coming, but I’m usually good at suspending my disbelief, so I let things surprise me. Soon as I saw it, though, I’m like “Oh… is that what happened…” lol. It all makes sense… ^_^

Just a small nitpick: would it be possible to tweak Felicity’s facial expression a bit so that she doesn’t look like she’s sleeping peacefully? Perhaps a look of terror or pain, or just a “squashed out of breath” look.

Maybe it’s because I spend way too much time at Ren Faire, but how does someone as huge as Nicodemus who is a king, after all, sneak up on anyone? Doesn’t he have an entourage, not to mention blotting out large portions of the sky?

Yikes! Completely didn’t see that coming, though as soon she said it would take more than a couple guards I knew *something* was going to get her. I wasn’t expecting it to be that quick or that recognizable of a bad guy though… 🙁
well, now that Nicole is finally remembering things, I’m reckoning she’ll be ready to join the boys and trying to sort out the Big Bad. I wonder if she’ll manage to get back into Dreamland to see Felicity again. Or is that what you’re planning in the near future?

I agree that Nicodemus’ flat palm would have crushed Felicity quite badly. That, and her expression seems a bit, um, death-like. It might appear less sinister if Nicodemus simply slammed his hand down in more of a claw to trap her between his fingers. And also, I agree that Felicity would look better with her eyes open. We don’t want to frighten the kiddies, do we 😉

That doesn’t quite look like a flat palm to me. Maybe flat enough so that she doesn’t have a way to escape (holding her between his fingers like in a cage would leave her with a lot of room to move – this is Felic we’re talking about) but not enough to kill her. A concussion maybe, as well as a few bone fractures, as well as some other stuff, but that doesn’t look like ‘death’ material to me.
As for her ponytail looking like a bun, that’s probably just the angle. I think it’s pointing at the camera.
Five (imaginary) bucks says Nicole is hauled off to the nightmare realm, which I imagine would kick off the need for heavy counseling after awhile, which in turn would cease her nocturnal journeys to Dream Land. I’m calling it! Right now!!

… One thing that I would question about this whole Nicole/ Felicity flashback is that Felicity is so powerful. I mean she’s a kid that just kicked the butts of three big muscle heads. I guess ou can go back to the principle that a Dreamland friend can do anything the Dreamer thinks they can do? Like Alex’s friends could fly because he thought they could fly. (I know I’m reaching wa-a-a-ay back here.)

Nightmare realm or not, the bottom scene triggers the need for therapy to block out Dreamland. That picture still creeps me out like mad everytime, and I have a sick feeling on Monday Nick will proceed to scare me further and prove what an absolutely fantastic villian he is, making me shiver in my seat like I was four years old again watching Lady Tremaine or Maleficent.

Kind of expected something bad to happen, after all this is a flashback related to why Nicole lost contact with Felicity and DreamWorld. But of course really didn’t know what it would be (and still don’t), didn’t expect her to actually win against the guards, nice plot twisting 🙂

Yeah, I had problems with Felicity’s hair too. I’m not sure if it’s just the angle or the coloration, but it’s hard to tell that it’s still a ponytail. If you look closely the point/end of her ponytail is actually in the upper left part of the end-on view of her hair. I think the perspective might have worked a little better if the ponytail disappeared under Nicodemus’ palm instead….but, that’s just my opinion. >.>

I love medieval historys, and the fact you go throught dreans, it show a little bit of our “actual world” too, and i loved it!
