Some constructive criticism for you Scott:
Instead of “Lunchtime”, put a real time like “12:28pm” or something like that. it just seems a bit too vague.
Also if you want justification on the “Meh” from a few pages back, I heard one of the news anchors on CNN using it just a couple days ago.
I just hope Nicole can find some way to deal with it soon so we can get back to Dreamland and see what’s going on.

long time lurker, loving this comic. to further what SparcMan said, maybe something like ‘4 hours later’ might work to show the extent of time that’s passed and all.

Ah, poor Nicole. Admittedly, I would not accept someone else’s Dreamland until I was sure that there could be no explanation in keeping with standard science. I wonder when she’ll believe that she herself is hallucinating.
Seeing Alex with food makes me wonder: Does he ever get hungry in Dreamland? If he eats there, will it tide him over for a while when he wakes up? After all, injuries he sustains in Dreamland go with him to… Earth, I guess. Or should we call this Wakeland?
Odd… I read today’s strip differently. I thought she was reading their book of DL stories and pictures, and that she was looking for some faintly remembered thing in their journals, and that she might have found it at the end. But, maybe it’s not their book.
I just took it as her still reading about the catgirls, since that’s what she was doing on the other page. There’s been no transition from her unbelief to her believing, so I’m nearly sure she’s still trying to find a way to prove the dream theory wrong.
And why not? After all, as a scientist-type who’s studying brainwaves for Alex, this concept of another world goes against everything she believes in!

The texture of the wood walls could have a few more planks. I could tell right away where the pattern repeats and it bugged me a little.

Here I am, first post.
Been reading the whole thing in 3 evenings, and man, I am HOOKED.
Something like 20 years ago a friend borrowed me the whole Elfquest collection and I remember reading through it in no time.
Same thing here. I am having so much fun with this, you wouldn`t believe it. Right now I am, like so many these days, on a tight rope, so for a while I won`t be buying. Once I restart adding to my comic collection the Dreamland
books will be on the top of the list.
I already knew your work from the Spiderman comic, but just made the connection when I reread the Cgchannel threads that brought me here in the first place.
Congratulations for this epic work, can`t wait to see how it continues.
Now for some points that I noticed.
1. The movie layout you used up to chapter 12 is perfect for me, I thought it fits the whole style of the show. I hope you don`t go too much into the direction you began with chapter 13.
2. The renders sometimes look a little bit overlit. That`s something I already noticed in Spiderman.
3. Quick tip, take a look at Vue for the nature environments. It seems to deliver great results, and it has a direct link for max.
4. I know there are some common themes in every genre, but I thought the dwarves tunnels to look way too similar to LOTR. Dreamland is a concept that can stand on its own feet.
Again, congrats and keep it up. I`ll be back daily now, hehe.

My take on today’s page is that Nicole has transitioned from shock to her main fallback in life, research. She hasn’t found anything yet. She didn’t finish her sentence in the second to last frame because she doesn’t really know what she’s looking for. She’s looking for something to prove that the Felicity cat-girl thing is just a coincidence, but she doesn’t know what that thing could be. She’s also absorbed in her research enough to not care about Alex and Daniel and to not even notice that she didn’t finish her sentence.
I wish I could bend my legs like she could and be comfortable. That almost looks painful. ^^;;;
Reminds me of Niven’s Pak protector, not eating until and unless he can find a worthy project to dedicate himself to.
