Page 739…
Back from Baltimore Con.
What a great show. I’ll speak more of it later. It’s late now and I just got home in time to update the page.
This is one of my favorite pages because it really reveals how far Nicodemus will go to cover up his plan.
I hope you like it.
Yay, another update!
I really like this page. Can’t wait for more
Woah
Now is he going to make a futile attack on Nicomdemus or what, and what about Felicity, and why hasnt Alex used his sword yet they all know Nic wants it
tune in next week, same bat time, same bat channel 😛
I think we all realised Nico was capable of this – and then some! But to see him admit it… This means he expects to be killing everyone there…
Yes! Swordy time! Only this time: go DEEP!
Oh, I hope Felicity’s gonna be alright.
Why do I think of Mr. Incredible when I see Bognok’s surprised face? lol
As if Bognok wasn’t angry enough already…
ADHadh – exactly what I was thinking. That’s gonna be one mad dwarf, I betcha. I like this page, the layout and the build up. It could go so many ways. Awesome.
Oh I see what you did there. Smashing the tablet.
Oh hey, a giant mace, I think it your face is it’s friend.
WOW this chapter looks like it’s going to be MAJOR ACTION!!!
Great revelation. I wondered about the use of the word “traitorous”. Shouldn’t it be “treacherous”?
Ooh. Good word Laura. Any thoughts from others?
Great page, Scott!
Thump the Dragon! THUMP THE DRAGON, DAGNABBIT!!
haha yeah I agree. I <3 dragons normally… but this one needs a good thumpin. 🙂 I did have a question about the texture method you use. The scales on Nico and the hair and beard on the dwarves… is that a normal map or do you render these and use bump maps? or is it modeled?
As to Laura’s comment, treacherous would work (and would make even more sense if Nic were trying to get Bognok angry).
Either way, I really Really want to see that nice mace smash some dragon face. 😀
This means war!!!!!!!!!
Oh man, oh man. It’s getting interesting.
Oh my gosh, this is gettin’ intense! I can’t wait to see where this goes!
i am afraid the dwarf-King is very angry now
Aah, Nicodemus is only a dragon. If the good guys all fight as a party in concert, they can take him down. Trust me, I see it all the time in roleplaying games!
I’ve enjoyed this entire series, but this current sequence is shaping up to become my favorite thus far. I know this won’t be the end of Nicodemus (the rest of the story would become a bit boring), but I hope the rest of the group joins Bognok in teaching him a serious lesson – maybe even a bit of humility. Although they’d probably just chase him off and make him very angry.
I don’t agree with Laura. I think “traitorous” is a better word in that particular frame. “Treachery” was already used in an earlier frame, and using it again in a different form would be too redundant.
I happen to like ‘traitorous.’ Going after a dwarf’s loyalty sounds like a good way to get him angry. Besides, he already used ‘treachery’ in the first panel. Don’t want to sound like a broken record, do you Nic?
Nic can kill Dwarfs one at a time what about the entire Clan?
Paul Renaud rocks. ’nuff said.
When a Bad Guy is Bragging about all the people he has killed, he expects to kill some more.
But Can they defeat him here?? NO.
But who will die here? I expect the big bad Guy will have to retreat because of injuries, to set the stage for a final showdown.
Never tell a dwarf you killed his family. Evar.
This would be an awesome movie…or video game, this could be one amazing boss battle!
“Traitorous” suggests to me that they were traitors (to someone), while “treacherous” suggests that treachery is a personality trait (they’ve done it to multiple people before).
“Traitorous”, therefore, is the way to go.
Ooohhh! Getting Bognok riled up by telling him you killed his ancestors, attacking their loyalty and all is not smart. No way he’s gonna support you again; if his people learn about it, they’ll never support you again. Good way to turn a staunch ally into an even more active enemy.
The problem with smashing a tablet is that Dwarves are great at restoration.
Hmm. I could be wrong – but I don’t think Ole Nick is through here – simply making Bognok angry in this situation will only serve to get him to attack – and even if Bognok can’t really hurt Nic, he could engage him until Alex and the sword can get in a nasty lick. No, I think Ole Nic has something else up the sleeve… of the shirt… he’s not wearing…
Hmm. Need a better figure of speech when dealing with the shirtless…
grrr
Dealing with Dwarves.
Rule 1: Never toss.
Rule 2: Never say that you wronged their ancestors.
Pannel 3: Huge eyebrows are huge
One question though; If Bognoks forefathers were killed…then how are the dwarves not extinct? o.O
